Came during dinner (around 7 pm) and there was a line of about 6 people waiting to order. When I finally got to the front, I was told the tavern style pizzas were out. Fortunately the slice pizza case still had a decent selection left. We got a hot sop, Detroit style pep, spinach and mushroom, sausage pep and jalapeños, and a pep ricotta and pesto. Everything was heated to perfection and it all smelled so good we had to have a bite as soon as we got in the car. Every time I have TNT, I'm shocked at how light and airy the crust is and how nice the chew is. We also got ranch and hot marinara, both of which were super delicious and worth ordering extra if. The ranch is nice and creamy with fresh dill. The hot marinara is chunky with onions and tomato. Overall, this was excellent and we'll come back to get the tavern style pizza soon! read more

I first heard of this pizza because of the comic con activation with TMNT (IYKYK). I have tried it and I liked it but I didn't stop by the actual shop until December after the East Village Tree Lighting. My friend recommended it because they make some of the best Detroit style pizzas and San Diego. Let me tell you. They are not wrong. We ordered the Blippe and it was so worth it! Came in around 1:45 PM on a Wednesday and there were a handful of people inside. It's a casual setup - you order at the counter and grab your pizza when it's called They offer New York-style and deep dish pizzas, and you can buy slices that vary in price. I ordered: * Pepperoni: Honestly, this was pretty bad. It was a little greasy, but the crust was super soggy. With a New York-style slice, especially one that thin, you expect a nice crisp on the bottom. This had none of that. I had much higher expectations. When I ordered, she asked if I wanted ranch or hot honey, and I went with her recommendation, hot honey, which was an extra $0.50. The extra charge was totally fine, businesses need to cover costs, but it would've been nice to know there was an upcharge beforehand. * Margherita: Somehow even worse. Again, very soggy crust, super greasy, and overwhelmingly cheesy. It just didn't taste like quality ingredients or well-executed pizza. They have both indoor and outdoor seating, and the interior is actually a cool spot with a chill vibe. No public restroom, but dogs are allowed, which is a big plus. I did ask for some pepperonis on the side, and she was kind enough to give me a handful in a cup free of charge, which I appreciated. I was excited to try TNT Pizza's Detroit-style pizza after its long await to third ave but the experience didn't live up to the hype. I was quoted a 20-25 minute wait, but ended up waiting about 45 minutes for my order. As a hungry pregnant woman I was less than thrilled to wait so long. The pizza itself was decent pepperoni, mushrooms, and garlic but nothing memorable and definitely not worth the extended wait. The ordering experience was also frustrating. The menu board was difficult to read due to missing characters, and the cashier seemed unfamiliar with the menu, making it harder to order confidently. Overall, the food was okay, but the long wait, confusing menu, and lackluster service made for a disappointing first visit. With so many great pizza options in Chula Vista, I don't see myself returning. At around $55 for a pizza and two canned drinks, I expected a much better overall experience. I just left this establishment with my family and it was a terrible experience. We watched the man in the photos cross contaminate all three top shelve vegan pizzas with dirty tongs with caked on meat and grease. After we asked him if he could use clean none contaminated tongs he began to argue with us stating "I don't normally change the tongs, this is how I was trained". My fiancée has been strictly vegan for well over ten years and watching this man cross contaminate all THREE vegan options just made us turn our heads to this whole restaurant. After standing at the register while he helped 6 other customers as he was helping us, he then asked if we wanted any other slices. I asked him for his name and he refused to give it to me stating "I don't have to give you my name I am refusing you service". Refusing us service because YOU cross contaminating THREE vegan pizzas either animal products then felt entitled enough to not provide your name. If you're truly vegan I would advise not eating at this establishment. They do not care about cross contamination or dietary restrictions and you will be eating animal products on your "vegan" slices. read more

I searched Reddit for vegan eats near Petco Park and someone recommended stopping by here before the game. I'm so glad I did! They have several vegan pizza options and I was thrilled. I went with the vegan pickle thick crust slice. I'm a sucker for ranch and this thing was covered in it. It was absolutely delicious. I can't wait to come back and try their house slice. The pepperoncinis looked amazing, and they had some great-looking vegan meat alternatives too. Every year for the Super Bowl we order pizza as a treat for my in-laws, who have a pretty restrictive diet. This year we ordered TNT's 8"x10" Gluten-Free Detroit-style pizza, made vegan, topped with mushroom, sliced tomato, red onion, black olive, roasted red pepper, and spinach -- and it was phenomenal. At first they were confused by the Detroit-style shape and thought it looked small (4 slices)... and then they took a bite. Immediate reaction: "It's sooooooo good! Oh my God!" TNT Pizza has been on my list for WHILE of places I'd like to try. Finding parking luckily was not a hassle. The pizza shop is small and cozy, the arcade machine is a nice touch and their menu boards are not digital or use LED lights which I thought was nice. I ordered two slices of pizza ( Pepperoni NY Style & Sausage Detroit Style) and a drink for $11! Like what?! these prices are a breathe of fresh air in my opinion. Now back to the pizza, the pepperoni pizza slice was delicious. Crunchy perfect amount of topping and the red sauce was delicious, yes they sell per slice and yes they are reheated but it was a darn good slice of pizza if you ask me. The Detroit style slice was aso good but it needed more red sauce, but that's a personal preference. I was at the establishment for about 30 minutes and the foot traffic was steady which is a good sign. I'm definitely coming back for more, ME LOVE PiZZA! read more

Stopped by at 8pm during the week and although they didn't have all their slices available, we were able to get a good assortment. TNT pizza does 4 kinds of crusts (New York, Tavern, Grandma, Detroit) plus vegan options too. I appreciate the variety and customization that you are able to come up with. But for our visit, we focused on whatever was on display for slices. Inside has that old-school pizza shop/arcade vibe (with a Street Fighter machine). I did ask the cashier what each pizza was on display, but he just told me look at the board menu. It wasn't obvious based on some of the pizza toppings which one was which so that wasn't the best experience. In this case I'd rather them have name tags for each slice in the window to make it easier for everyone. The Pickle Pie was a fun flavor and I really loved the grandma-style crust! I had a ton of flavor and was perfectly crispy. The flavors of the pickle pie reminds me of a cheesburger pizza, minus the meat. Really good and tasty! The Green Dream was also a solid slice that comes with spinach, mushroom, ricotta, and garlic. The New York style was also nice and crispy. For the Detroit-styles, I preferred their pepperoni slice. I thought the tomato sauce was exceptional and packed with flavor. The Hot Sop was a unique slice since it comes with sopressata, dates, balsamic reduction, ricotta, and hot honey. I understand what they were going for and I did appreciate the sweetness of the date+balsamic to balance out the other salty flavors, but I felt the slice was a bit dry w/o sauce (but by adding sauce you take away the flavor of the balsamic *shrug). I'd love to come back earlier to get other slices since overall I think TNT serves up good slices that are worth checking out! read more

We always drive by and see how busy they can get especially later in the afternoon. We decided to stop by 30 minutes or so before they closed. The cashier was very helpful and didn't seemed upset at anyone (they had a huge rush of people right after we ordered). Considering they were about to close the options for the slice of pizzas wasn't as usual but they still had some options. We got 2 slices and 2 drinks, which was under $30. The pizzas tasted great and the hot honey definitely added to the flavor. We will definitely be stopping by earlier in the day to try other options. read more

Hands down one of my favorite pizza places. We live in OC and drive to San Diego just for this pizza! Their pickle pizza is so so so yummy. The sauce is really flavorful, crust is just the right crispiness. The hot honey pizza and pepperoni is also amazing. The pepperoni is crispy, and the hot honey adds the perfect touch of sweet and spicy. There is a charge for a side of hot honey which I don't mind, but the side ramekin is EXTREMELY small. Like barely enough for one slice of pizza. The service is always wonderful, the cashiers are more than happy to answer any questions and give their favorite recommendations. As it was my first time here the pizza was very underwhelming and honestly needed some salt imo. Which bums me out because I've had my eye on this spot for a minute. They have pizzas by the slice as well as whole pies for order. I got the spinach, mushroom and ricotta and my partner got the pepperoni and we had the same consensus: lacking flavor.
