Utter incompetence ! I'm going to stick to only the facts for this review.  The reason for my review if to keep this place from damaging customer vehicles due to their lack of competence a poor customer service.  Let me start with the Fact that they did smog both of my cars four years ago for a bi-annual  inspection. I had no issues with the test. I actually felt the guy who did the test did a very good job. Fact: Both of my cars are full time four wheel drive (2003 Honda CR-V and 1978 Chevy K10). That means a dyno test cannot be performed or possible transmission or transfer case damage can occur. A dyno test is when the car is driven a rollers to simulate road driving and load. Most cars are two wheel drive and require a dyno test. Fact: How do I know this? I was a ASE certified master automobile technician and held a California smog license for 7 years (ask, I'll prove it). I went  today with my truck and they told me it would be ten minutes for my test. I took a quick drive with my son because he wanted to enjoy my truck a bit more. We returned in 15 minutes and waited another 15 minutes for my truck to get attention. No big deal, I'm a patient man and my five year old was being a saint for once.  35 minutes pass and the tech (who doesn't communicate in English very well, not his fault he is ESL). He starts my truck and attempts to drive it into the stall with the emergency brake on. No big deal, that happens when you work on various products. He gets it in the stall and I mentioned my truck had a full time 4WD 203 transfer case. This means it's always in 4WD (gas hog, I know). He proceeds to strap my truck to a 2 wheel dyno. Yeah, that's for 2 wheel drive cars. When he starts to drive on the dyno I immediately yell for him to stop because it will do damage to my drive train. He doesn't and continues so I walk into the shop and point to the sticker noting "full time 4wd". He stops the dyno and states my truck is 2wd. I politely tell him he must have entered the model incorrectly. Just then, a lady from the back come out actually screaming at me that he didn't enter it wrong and I need to leave. At that point I was more than glad to, considering this all happened in front of my kid. Totally incompetent staff and awful customer service. Take your business to Morgan Hill smog. That dude knows what he is doing. read more

After getting frustrated trying to work with other STAR stations that treated me like some sort of criminal and freaked out upon seeing my modified Miata, TNT Smog just did their job professionally. They had the knowledge to clearly see that my car was stock and legal in all emissions-related ways, and performed the test quickly and fuss-free and at a very reasonable price of just $60 for an OBD1 car with an EVAP test! Very unpleased with my visit today at TNT Smog, my car passed emissions without any issue, I had someone coming to purchase my car about an hour after my smog test, when we went to open the hood the cable had been stretched out, so I called TNT Smog to see if they could help with opening the hood and was very rudely told they are not a repair shop and that they didn't break my latch on my car. after explaining that my hood needed to be opened to perform the smog check the woman blamed it on the man doing the test saying "he is old". not sure what that's supposed to mean but basically they broke my latch and she blamed it on the age of her employee. definitely do not recommend this place, I would take my business to Morgan Hill Smog as I should have to begin with. read more

Terrible customer service. I was a loyal customer for 7 years with multiple cars but the woman in charge refused to provide me with a courtesy extension past the 30 days to re-certify my smog test (since it failed the first time). I understand it took longer to get the repairs done (ERG valve tooling issues, vacation, and need to drive 200 miles to reset the codes). By the way, the mechanic that did the ERG valve repair said that a reputable Smog Station should not have even tried to perform the smog test in the first place since the "check engine" light was on. read more

First time here. Quick and courteous. The technician and desk agent both amicable. Quick service, clean waiting area. Easy parking lacking congestion like many auto repair rows. In and out in 15 minutes, but to be fair my vehicle is 2016. I will go back again. I showed up after closing time on a Saturday and the owner actually opened up to smog my wife's van. I can't guarantee that you will have the same experience if you show up late and I'm sure that the owner doesn't want me to encourage such behavior - but I thought it was nice. read more

They're always friendly and helpful. They handle walk-ins as quickly as they can, which is usually within a few minutes. They are even able to handle RVs, although I suggest that you take those in early when the parking lot isn't too full. read more

Absolutely amazing customer service and great overall experience. Went here after originally trying to get a smog done at a few other places. After being told over and over again that I had to have an appointment (often times the next available one being a week away), I called up TNT as asked for a wait time. The guy who answered said he could do it if I got there within a few minutes of the call. When I arrived, the previous customer was leaving. No wait at all! He had the car done in less than 20 minutes, and even gave me the coupon deal by showing him the coupon on my phone (usually he said you had to print it out). Waited 30 minutes and was told if we fail we get a free retest. While waiting their receptionist Ivy i believe her name was, was overly rude to everyone who came in. Many customers walking out the moment they walked in due to her attitude. After our test we found we failed, and then was told multiple times that it would be another $9 to retest even after being told at first its a free retest. She even interrupted us when we were talking to each other about having just fixed our smog issue and getting a pass less than a year ago when the conversation wasnt with her. I went there for smog recheck but they were closed two days the third time they were open but it failed test they told me to drive the car for 200 miles I have only one left for the 30 day recheck I asked her to extend the time since they were closed she refused This was very upsetting to me that they would not extend the time because they were closed and now I am told to drive the car 200 miles in one day come back for recheck read more

I dont even know why im giving this place two stars over one. The guy was nice. My car failed due to a burned out dash light? That wasn't the issue. I brought my car in had it smogged and when I left i went to open my door and my door handle is now broken. The guy noticed my bewilderment and came to ask, I told him this wasn't broken when I came in, he tried it out and said something's loose. I said yea you broke it! And he said no that's not my fault and I replied, but it wasn't like this when I came in. So what are the odds that 10,000 time my door gets opened only by him that it breaks all the sudden? Fast, no hassle. No appointment needed. I didn't have to wait for anyone, but even if you did, it was really fast. 10 minutes (maybe 15 max), and he was done. No problems whatsoever. Also didn't give me any hassles with my aftermarket parts (they are CARB approved!). I will definitely use these guys from now on. read more
