The food was horrible and cold. My mom ordered the Luigi burger and it was a bug, with a 1.5 inch cut bell pepper and a cold piece of chicken breast. There was supposed to be a drizzle of aioli or something but I think the bun soaked it up lol. If fun to take younger children, like 6 and below. Toadstool cafe was high on the list for our kids when we came to Nintendo land. They had to come here and eat video game food. It was a little chaotic when we visited because we had previously been stuck on the Mariocart ride when the firealarms had gone off across the entire Nintendo land. Rides had been stopped, restaurants evacuated and all of that. We were in the queue right before getting on the ride and couldn't hear the alarms so we stayed on the ride. Eventually the alarms were fixed after about 20-25 minutes. We rode the ride twice in a row thanks to the line being so empty from the alarm issue. We went to the restaurant after and they were still fixing issues where people were reordering food when they had been eating when the alarms went off before. We sat and ordered without issue. Ordered the fettuccine, fire flower spaghetti, and the mushroom pizaa bowl with the star power bobba drinks. The drinks were incredible. The food was good. The spaghetti was probably the best thing with Fettuccine being 2nd and the pizza bowl being just ok. But it looked awesome. I will say that. But the pepperoni mix in the bowl was a little oily and felt a little crazy in my stomach. The inside of the restaurant is fun and the screens on the walls are very fun to watch. Every once in a while, the Bowser attacks and the light of the restaurant would flick and darkened a bit with the screen around the restaurant walls showing the animation. I was a bit skeptical about the food but it turned out great. Many people complained about the patty inside the Mario burger being dry, however I like my burger well done so it just perfectly matched the way I liked. Plus I really love mushrooms. Went here today with my family and we enjoyed several different items & enjoyed the cafe itself so much! We went pretty early in the day before prime dinning time and I think that was helpful, I can see this place getting extremely busy during lunch and dinner rush. The cafe is so cute & themed so incredibly well. The staff were super friendly and attentive as well. This was such a fun experience!! The thing you're coming here for is the atmosphere & experience. I completely understand the other low rated reviews BUT keep in mind this is a brand new restaurant in a brand new park that gets flooded with people all times of the day. We went first thing as a super early lunch while everyone swarmed the rides. The employees were super friendly. The food: I got the chef toad herb chicken. It was a lot better than expected! The cream sauce really helped pull this dish together. It came with roasted potatoes, spinach, and slices of roasted tomato. The potatoes were so good. The chicken was a little dry, and that's the only issue I had with the dish. My husband got Bowser's fireball challenge. It was a huge meatball covered in tomato sauce & cheese and topped off with a Bowser shaped pastry. Note: this was pretty spicy (I can't handle much spice). It's literally just a spicy meatball with sauce, so there's not much to it lol. We also got the viral block tiramisu. I was hoping the outside part would be made of white chocolate, but it was made out of a flavorless wafer. Was it the best tiramisu I've ever had? No, but it was a fun thing to order if you have the extra spending money. Atmosphere: this was almost as enjoyable as a ride in my opinion. Keep in mind, we got there first thing and there were only two other occupied tables, so we had a very different experience. Each window plays a little video of the toads working or walking around. There is one part that has Bowser fly in and all the toads go running off screen. How cute! I would definitely add this to the list of things to do while you're at this park. read more

Fun theming and quick service. First things first, it's theme park food. Do not walk into this cafe expecting high quality or cheap meals, and frequent visits from waiters. You walk in, order food on an app, and leave. Speaking of ordering, the new Universal ordering experience is great. My party of 3 walked into the cafe at 4:00pm with no wait, and a staff member was very kind explaining that we can sit wherever and then scan a QR code to order. The food came out very quickly, like less than 10 minutes, and it was easy to order. I got the "Luigi Burger" and it was surprisingly delicious. Chicken was well cooked and had a great texture, and the truffle fries were excellent. The burger came with a savory and creamy sauce that was very good and added a lot to the meal. It was so good in fact that I ended up just dumping the whole container of sauce straight onto the bun of my burger! , The bun came with a very cute mustache symbol on the top, and the quality of the bread was very high as well. The portions were average, but I did get a lot of fries compared to other places at Universal. It was pretty pricy with my single burger being around twenty dollars but like I said, it's theme park food. It's going to be expensive. I see it as I payed ten dollars for a fun burger and ten dollars for the experience. The inside was amazing. It had screens that showed toads of all kinds performing daily tasks and it was very entertaining to watch. Soup was brought out in a cut mushroom dish, but server told my daughter to hurry and take a picture because they will take it back when done at table. Soup was good, but not great. The tiramisu was blah, garlic knots were something I'd buy in the frozen bread section at my local grocery. The bean cake was the best item, but it by much. So I wouldn't go here if you don't want a long sit down meal. You have to order through the universal app here. The food itself was good! Everyone finished their plates. We ordered the Mario Burger, spaghetti and meatballs, chicken Alfredo and a tiramisu for dessert. The little yoshi egg on the pasta and the flower on the spaghetti is Parmesan cheese you can crumble on the pasta! The tiramisu is more of a coffee mouse with a cookie/bread box which was also good. My only complaint and why I didn't put a 5 star on this is the lack of modifications on the app. For example, the bacon burger - we don't eat bacon and there was not an option for a regular burger but they do have an option for no mushrooms and no cheese. read more

After the wait to get seated, you order on the app and must have a cc for payment. Tap not accepted here. After ordering, the wait to receive food is about 30 minutes. I ordered the Power Up Spaghetti and Mt. Pole cake and my daughter got the Chef Toad Herb Chicken Special (bone-in). The spaghetti was bland, what you would expect for a child. The food we ordered was: Maria's burger plate (2), Yoshi's pasta plate (2) toad pizza bowl with the breast mushroom top ( sorry if I spelled it wrong ! ), all the deserts, the mushroom shaped bread (2). Over all the food was amazing the only issue is that when we asked for a to-go container for princess peaches cake leftovers we were told no, that there was no to-go containers. That pissed of two of the moms and most of the table. We managed to the cake tho! The servers who we asked about the to-go container were a bit rude. But overall I still think the toad cafe is a good place to eat!!! I do hope in the future they add a to-go container option! Like in most restaurants. The icing was too much and left a slimy coated feeling in your mouth, and there may have been like maybe two strawberries chopped up inside.
