Joined the waitlist to have brunch on our way down to the shore. We were seated pretty quickly by Colin who was a very gracious host. The place is BYOB so we brought a bottle of our favorite Bellini. However the coffee had been sitti g for a while and had a little bit if a gray color, and we were sat outside by the sidewalk and didn't get very attentive service. Every time I've tried to get into Toast on a weekend, it has always been so crowded with a huge wait. Today we were lucky & got a table for 2 right away at around noon. It's still pretty busy on a Sunday. The noise level was pretty loud and the heat definitely made it "Toasty" today in the restaurant as the weather was about 60 degrees outside for December. First off the coffee was pretty darn good! Our sever, Tom couldn't have been more helpful and accommodating. He really took care of us well throughout the whole meal. I think my husband had about 5 soda refills and changed his order once ..Tom didn't even flinch. So that helped with the solid 4 rating today. My husband ordered the California Scramble and was very happy with it. I ordered the Carrot Pancakes and they were scrumptious. Tom asked me why I didn't try the sweet cream cheese. Well, I was using the syrup because I thought that was a clump of butter!! Oopsie was I missing out! Who needs syrup when you have sweet cream cheese?? The menu is pretty immense. If I can ever get in here again on a weekend I'll have to check some other menu items out. Looks like there's lots of yummy things to keep us busy for a while. We'll definitely be back. read more

It turned out to be very mediocre.....I had the classic benny, I do have high standards for Eggs Benedict, and this one was fine, but certainly nothing amazing. The only issue I had was going on the waitlist on the way to the restaurant. It let me put my name down and it said there were 35 people ahead of us, but then within a few minutes I got a text saying our table was ready. I tried again with the same result. If you can sit on the back patio do so, because the knuckleheads walking street side will ruin that for you. Great food. We visited Toast during our beach vacation to Asbury Park and it was a treat! The space was very large and casual, set up in a diner meets pub style. Wooden tables and chairs, and a lot of sunshine! We were seated right away, and the waitress immediately took our order. She was very friendly and had great recommendations. We had some delicious French toast, chilaquiles, and coffee for $35 for the total bill. The French toast was so delicious and delicate and came with strawberries. Also, they modified our chilaquiles order to make sure there was no meat in it, which was great because some restaurants have it pre-cooked and cannot modify orders with meat. There's options for many sweet and savory dishes in the menu. However, it was difficult to get the bill and then pay with our credit card when we finished the meal. The waitress didn't come back for 45 minutes and we asked another waiter, who said he'd check but never came back. It wasn't busy during the time we went either, so it was unpleasant to have to wait so lunch after a meal. 8/10 would recommend for delicious food and if you're not in a rush! read more

This place is a cozy staple of Cookman Ave in Asbury Park. It can get very crowded with longish waits in the summer and weekends, but we weree seated right away this winter saturday morning. It got busy pretty quickly though. The decor and vibe are exactly what you'd expect here, cozy, casual, and as their description states, "rustic, brick-walled." Our server today was very nice. We started with the Kenyan AA french press which could have been stronger, but that's fine. My Irish Eggs Benedect (with corned beef) was very good, although for my palate I did add some salt. I liked that there was only a little Hollandaise sauce and it wasn't swimming in it. The corned beef itself was chunky and meaty and my wife got it alone with eggs.
