I finally got in to the try out the new restaurant toast in Long Beach I must say the food was very good. The atmosphere was very nice however, it was extremely noisy. I don't understand why restaurants open today and don't take an account acoustics the place was so loud you couldn't hear the person on the other side of the table talking to you Again however, the food was well worth it, but be careful if you order a salad and it doesn't come with dressing they will charge you extra for dressing. I also read that if you order syrup with your pancakes, they charge you extra for syrup I don't think that's a good business practice. read more

This place rocks!! I make an effort to come here every time I have the chance. The food is awesome. I highly recommend the avocado toast. If you're smart, you'll request a side of the sun-dried tomato pesto with it. Don't question it, just do it; it'll change your life. I'm also very impressed by their cold-brew coffee. Great flavors that are always on a rotation. They also know how to brew it. It's super smooth and delicious without any bite, as a good cold brew should be. Other places could learn from Toast... Definitely have to give a special shout-out to the server Jules too. She takes great care of me every time I'm in, and is always quick to greet me with a great smile. PRO : Me and my freind are locals in bayshore but never came this spot before and I'm A huge brunch person by and bit hard to impress someone .We got the 8oz skillet burger which was delicious but a bit concerned on why it didn't come in a actual skillet but hey the burger was cooked to perfection . I also loved the whole circus theme . The host was very nice and quick to get our seat bussed and seated . Finally went for the first time to the Bay Shore location a few weeks back on a Saturday. Despite there being a long wait (we expected it, and we're happy to walk around in the meantime), the service was great, and so was the food. I eat vegan, and they were incredibly accommodating of my allergies, and were happy to use a different oil. My meat eater boyfriend loved their huge plate of corned beef hash. One of the best breakfasts out I've had in quite a while - but get there early, because otherwise you'll have quite a long wait. I arrived at 9:15am and was seated about 10-15 minutes later. I ordered the Mediterranean omelette made with egg whites and an iced chai latte with oat milk. Everything was spot on - especially the chai, which I was worried would either be too watery or too sugary, but was lovely and refreshing. Also really enjoyed that the rye toast that came with my omelette was thick cut instead of floppy bread that tastes like it's just been pulled off a grocery store shelf. My friend got the Domingo burrito minus the pulled pork, and said she quite enjoyed it, though it could've had a bit more of a kick. I really enjoyed dining at Toast. Now that the pleasantries are out of the way, let's get into the pros and cons. Pros: The atmosphere was super chill and inviting. I loved the antique circus decor, the music, and the mellow vibe of the place. The coffee was strong and hot, like I like it, and thank goodness they offer REAL half and half (not the shelf stable crap). The "perk" (pun intended), was that it came in a cutely designed mug. I was surprisingly delighted to taste coconut oil in my scrambled eggs, I'm okay with healthy fats. Oh, who am I kidding? I'm a Southerner, I'm okay with lots of butter too! The eggs were so moist and fluffy, that I'm about to google how to make mine come out that way at home. Next up is the home fries. Oh. My. Good. Gracious! A medley of white and sweet potatoes, seasoned to perfection. That side of carbolicious delight, was the star of the show for me. That concludes the pro portion of this review. Sadly, there were CONS that I just could not ignore. First up is the side of toast. You can't be named TOAST and serve DRY, old, kept in the fridge (or freezer) TOAST. I was so disappointed, because I really wanted it to be good. The next disappointment came from the pancakes. They were enormous in size, but lacked the fluffiness that I found in the eggs. The flavor was a bit off as well, I could taste a tinge of baking powder or something. It was weird, but I didn't like it and no amount of syrup could cover it. Last, of the bummers was the service. Overall I'd say the server was nice, but not as attentive as I'd prefer. Little things like drink refills, make the service level go from average to superb. Suggestions: Work on the pancake recipe ASAP. Switch the table sugar to all natural, just say no to the bleached stuff. And fresh bread!... Fresh bread, man. Final verdict? I'd definitely go back for another go round, and I would recommend TOAST to my friends and family. Oh! And the portions were ample! They do not skimp on the portions. I have to say I was looking forward to going to Toast for a while. We went on 10/29/22. The food was delicious and service was great. We had the Burrata avocado toast, a short stack of cinnamon pancakes, the Splendid Benedict (plus what our friends ordered). They even made us a egg cream which was not in the menu. but the fruit flies ruined our meal. They were all over the restaurant. This place is unreal, in a good and bad way. The food always tastes good, but the waiting is absurd. I put our names on a waitlist at 9:18am. It said to arrive between 61-66 mins after our waitlist time. We got to Toast at 10:23am, alerted the waitress that we arrived, and she said she would text us shortly once she clears the table. I checked in with her one time after that and she said it wouldn't be long. Well, it's now 12:20pm, she hasn't called us to sit, and we just finished eating Burger King in the drive thru. I don't understand how they can leave people hanging like this. I didn't intend to spend the one day off I have with my fiancé waiting all morning, just to end up not having breakfast and eating fast food. This place is rude, and a total waste of time. read more

Wow. This place is fantastic. The service was sharp and friendly. Our waitress was super helpful and flexible. They have a great, expansive menu with a lot of gluten free options. That's important for my family cause of dietary restrictions. We had pancakes with blueberries and pecans, bananas and nuts and a eggs special with Avocados. Everything was well prepared, served hot and delicious. We went with the real Maple Syrup, which is extra but always worth it. Whatever you do, don't leave without a side of the home fries. We waited 40 mins for a table, when we sat down we were greeted by the friendly waitress who was attentive and very nice. I have to say, I do appreciate when businesses have vegan options so I can sit down and have a meal with my non vegan girlfriend. I ordered the tofu scramble, which was plain grilled cubes of tofu and vegetables with not an ounce of seasoning. You know it's bad when you have to salt your own food at the table.. I could understand how people might not know how to cook vegan but my girlfriend had to do the same with her food - she ordered the Splendid Benedict. Came for a weekend trip to Bay Shore and ended up eating here twice! It's the perfect breakfast/brunch stop on the way to the Fire Island Ferries. Service is fast, though they do get busy. We tried the breakfast burrito, avocado toast, banana walnut pancakes, and the bacon cheeseburger. All were fresh, filling, and so tasty. The burrito comes with a great mango salsa. The avocado toast is on a thick slice of multigrain bread with a generous amount of onions. The home fries it came with were wonderfully seasoned and had some yummy grilled onions and peppers. The pancake had a good amount of bananas and sweet, glazed walnuts. The cheeseburger was well cooked and paired well with sweet potato fries! The only thing we didn't like that much was the cold brew - because of the taste and the amount of ice - but their other drinks, especially the mimosas looked amazing. read more

This is quickly becoming our favorite brunch spot. Food is always great. I love the fact that they ask whether we want fresh squeezed OJ or from a box. Most places will say its fresh squeezed, but you can tell it most definitely isn't. Our last visit, the kitchen did mess up our order a little. We had asked for no meat in our eggs, but there was some bacon. The server apologized profusely and explained it was on the skillet from the previous order. Completely understandable. Couple of minutes later, John, the owner of the place, also came out and apologized. Also told us we were getting fresh eggs and it was on the house. Just a great place to eat. So happy the Toast restaurant are expanding even more...here's why!!! As far as brunch spots on the south shore, there are not a lot that offer a menu outside of Sundays. Well here is your newest Saturday spot, right in a new location of Bay Shore. I have visited all three Toast locations. I find this location to be the biggest and seemed most organized. I used Yelp to check in when we were on our way. So we didnt even have to wait!! We got some nice Saturday morning cocktails with the Sriacha Shrimp Bacon Bloody Mary, Stiff Orange Mimosa and Cinnamon Hazelnut Coffee. Thr coffee mugs are eclectic and always different! I loved my burrito! I covered the Original Burrito with sour cream and went to town. He got a Mediterranean Omlette and cleared his plate. We really enjoyed the food and drinks during our brunch date. I removed a star, almost a star and a half, because it was cold inside. I run usually hot and like a cool room, but not this cold. I couldn't take off my coat. I noticed no patron did either. So bundle up if you come in the winter like we did. read more
