I am a hugggge toast fan. First Port Jeff and than once patchogue opened I used to drive the 30 minutes and wait an hour...Because it was that good ! Bayshore is much much closer to me and it definitely has been a hit or miss every time I come in. My coffee usually taste burnt and my normal PB coffee doesn't taste the same. I usually get the French toast which has been okay. Omelets/benny have been good each time. The staff I must say has the best personalities here , everyone is always funny and friendly. Which is why we continue to come back. Hoping it gets better because I really do love their menu ! read more

Ugh super bummed! I was way amped for the bay shore location to finally open because I am obsessed with patchogue but it's so far for me! Unfortunately bay shore is not nearly as good tho! First of all, I was not into the decor at all, kinda dingy for a brand new restaurant but the outside was nice. Our server was friendly and it wasn't packed on a Thursday morning so we were seated right away! I started with a caramel apple chai which was phenomenal and my bf got a vanilla chai which he was charged an extra 50 cents for vanilla...vanilla chai is a pretty common drink so that's weird but whatever. He got the Delancy omelet, with avocado (extra $2) and I got the avocado toast and the special pumpkin bread French toast. His portion was huge and he enjoyed it very much. Mine was solidly mediocre. Both dishes seemed to made on a regular store brand slice of bread, nothing special and I found the potatoes to be salty. It was $60, kinda high for breakfast but I guess we got a lot of food for it. Nothing like sunday brunch @ Toast! Be prepared there is always a wait. The menu is extensive with many breakfast and lunch options. They also run seasonal specials. Today I had the maple coffee. I could not decide what to have so decided to order the best of both worlds: scrambled eggs and banana walnut pancakes. Scrambled eggs came with toast and potatoes. The banana walnut were cooked doughy the way I like them. My wife enjoyed her avocado blt omlette and our brunch friends enjoyed their meals too. Our waiter was very good. I'll start off my saying I don't normally write bad reviews but this one is well deserved. The server was very nice. The coffee was absolutely terrible. The first cup my mom and I both had tasted like chemicals. So we asked for another to which the server says "our coffee is very strong. That's why it tastes like that" I'm live and die by the bean LOL I'm an huge coffee drinker and I've worked in coffee shops in the past... the coffee was unbearable. So she offers another roast to which we agree. Also absolutely disgusting. As far as the food goes. Our potatoes were burnt pile of inedible chunks. Moms English muffins weren't toasted at all... and to top it all off during a pandemic we are seated in a booth behind people then as the breakfast goes on people are seated behind us and three feet to the left of us. In a T shape.... it was 10am on a week day and the place was empty. Yet we were all crammed together. So much so I can hear the person to the left of me chopping on their food. I visited the new Toast in Bay Shore for the second time. My first visit was fantastic. Nice vibe inside, friendly service and great food. Today's visit proved the staff still has to work out some kinks on how to deal with a significant crowd that just keeps coming and coming. Especially for a Sunday mid-morning. I showed up at 10am with a table of 6 and was told it was a 30 minute wait. We knew going in that we were going to wait. Unfortunately the host was incapable of coordinating how to work us in. After an hour we started getting a bit impatient. Yes, we probably should have left, but we were kind of in "no mans land" on when we would get seated. You know what I mean. As soon as you leave, they call your name, lol. We finally asked someone else what the deal was. After 90 minutes we just wanted to know if we should leave! Finally they figured out that they needed to put two tables together . So we finally sat. From there it was fine. Tim served us and was very friendly. The food again was very good. I do think this is one of the better breakfast places in the area, and will definitely return. Hopefully they figure out how to accommodate larger groups during busy hours. Finally a cute breakfast place in Bayshore! I like that they are open early too. The decor is carnival themed and looks cute. The first time I went, one of the owners came to my table and he was very friendly and asked how everything turned out which was nice. The food is good, with large portions. I love the menu at toast, they really have a bit of everything. Brownstones is stingy with portions and their menu is small compared to toast. The only thing I didn't like was sitting at the table with the pole structure from the building going down the middle because it was hard to talk to everyone across the table but other than that this is a great breakfast/brunch spot. read more

Awesome Saturday/Sunday brunch spot. Love that Yelp lets you join the waitlist through their app so you can avoid standing around and waiting. It does get very crowded on the weekends so be prepared to wait. Must say this place has delicious eggs and toast ;) The service was on point as well. This was an interesting dining experience. This place opened about a week ago. They don't have their liquor license yet so don't get to excited about the amazing sounding drinks on the menu. We were on the waitlist, and were told 15 to 20 minutes. It took about 30 minutes to be seated which wasn't too bad. Our server was nice but very all over the place. We're asked for water at least 3 times before he finally brought it out which was a little frustrating. The food also took a really long time to come out... im assuming that's because they are new but idk. When it finally came, i really was disappointed by the pancakes. As a pancake connoisseur I was really looking forward to diving in but they were tthick and lacked flavor np matter how much syrup I added. I usually finish all of my pancakes but I only made it through one out of 2. My omelette was really good. Especially when i ate it with the toast. The potatoes were ok but didnt have a lot of flavor on their own and some pieces were really firm. Overall it was a decent experience. I wouldn't rush back but I also wouldnt mind coming back and trying something else. My friend really enjoyed her cinnamon swirl french toast and my other friend enjoyed her avacado toast. This place is great! It is true to the brunch lifestyle, serving breakfast and lunch favorites, and closes at 3. Made a reservation for 3 for a Saturday, missed our reservation but still got lucky to get a table in a timely fashion. They are superrrrr crowded on Saturdays though, so I think we were really lucky to get a table. Best bet is to make a reservation and prepare to wait. When ordering, I couldn't choose one thing, so I got blueberry pancakes (omg yum) and bacon and cheese omelette with toast which was absolutely delicious. Everyone LOVED what the ordered, and couldn't wait to eat what they packed to go later. We also ordered their seasonal mimosa which was white cranberry, and it was great! Pretty hard to mess up breakfast but I heard it can be done. The only reason they lose a star is the loud atmosphere, I feel like I am shouting to my brunch buds. The hazelnut coffee is a must have. I don't normally drink with breakfast but they do have some solid alcoholic beverages for those who are into it, specifically the Bellini. This was my first time at this particular Toast location and it absolutely did not disappoint. It's pretty big compared to the other ones I've been to and they have the walls decorated with retro movie posters which is cool. I had the apple chai that was so delicious. I got one of their vegan breakfast wraps and it was easily the best vegan breakfast I've ever had. Could have fooled me with the vegan part. Everyone in my party loved their food as well. not super happy with this place! im actually disappointed. my mom and i took a ride out to bayshore because we wanted to try something new for breakfast, so in comes toast. we had a wait for 30 minutes before we could be seated, which wasn't a big deal especially because of covid there are less tables. just mentioning it for context. we finally get seated and it takes FOREVER for someone to come take our order. people were seated after us and no one came over. after waiting way too long to get our order taken, we waited absolutely too long for our food. people sitting near us with larger groups AND that ordered after us were getting their food first. how long does 2 orders of french toast and a side of potatoes take? we FINALLY got our food, and it wasn't great. the french toast was dry and the bacon wasn't cooked enough. the only thing i enjoyed was the coffee and the potatoes weren't too bad. overall super disappointing. probably will not be back. read more

I've been to the one in Patchogue and that was okay. The wait was long and the food was acceptable. The coffee there was not very good. I have now been to this one in Bay Shore twice and everything has been wonderful. The service is excellent, I have not had to wait on both a Saturday and Sunday morning and the food and coffee were great. If you went to the Patchogue location and weren't a fan, I would recommend trying this one. I think you will be pleasantly surprised. read more

Went for a late breakfast on a Sunday and they were very busy.We were told about a forty minute wait.There is a canal a block away with benches went and had a seat. We requested outdoor seating and were texted in about thirty minutes. The server was very pleasant and the menu offers many choices.The Burritos were a big hit and the home fries were amazing.First time in my life I could not finish breakfast,so portions are large. Wow! Visited this gem while on vacation and I left thrilled to have found it. We were seated right away, thank you Yelp! The circus theme decor is very cute, not overly done but just the perfect touch. I ordered the Cripple Creek Scramble while my daughter ordered the Miss Lucy's Tortilla Scramble and we did not want it to end. That.Good! I normally would never order chicken and waffles, i was just really craving sweet and savory and was like "hm, why not go out of my comfort zone a little?" and oh my god, i am SO GLAD i did. Literally amazing. The chicken was some of the best fried chicken I've ever had and the syrup was like candy (in the best way possible). I deffffffinitely recommend. I've been to toast numerous times before (mostly the one in Port Jeff, this was only my second time at the Bayshore one), but the chicken and waffles stood out way more than any of the other menu options I've had (sausage gravy and biscuits, a few kinds of benedicts, breakfast burritos, French toast). Don't get me wrong, all of those were great too...but those chicken and waffles, man. Amazing food and atmosphere! Couldn't decide on a place and I was last minute but glad I went!

I've been to the Toast in Patchogue and I was pretty psyched when I heard one was opening in Bay Shore. My experience at the Patchogue location wasn't awful but it also wasn't great. We were seated at the "fringe" of the restaurant on a very busy Saturday. So I had high hopes for this location especially since I got there pretty early today (8:30 this morning on a Wednesday) We were warmly greeted by the hostess and seated in a booth. Our waitress was lovely and came back with two giant mugs of deliciously strong coffee. All good. We ordered and unfortunately our waitress did not write down our orders and brought out the wrong pancakes for my husband and my Scramble did not have cheese. It was all good once the food order was right. My scramble was delicious and I appreciated that they were accommodating with making mine a custom scramble (cheddar cheese and chorizo). The eggs were cooked perfectly. My husband got the cinnamon roll pancakes, which he said were good but a little doughy. Brownstone's does this dish much better. Love the carnival decor and overall, it was a very good experience in spite of the minor service issue, which they fixed as quickly as they could. It's my personal pet peeve that a waiter/waitress doesn't write things down. Your memory may be very good but why not just jot it down? To me it's an invitation to make a mistake. I used the website waitlist option and to our surprise we had 5-10 min spot. When we arrived we were instructed to wait outside and we would receive a text when a table was ready. That wait was under 10 and the weather was nice so it was fine. Once inside our first impression - Noisy - but there's nothing the establishment could do about that so nothing against them. Just an observation. Atmosphere is that of an amusement park cafeteria. Staff has a very informal attire which I suppose is in keeping with the eclectic theme of the decor. Staff was very attentive. We ordered Bananas Foster pancakes and Benedict Arnold eggs. There was a reasonable wait time for the food. we ordered coffee and fresh squeezed Mimosa. The food portions were generous. The plates looked good. More importantly the food was hot and delicious. All in all I don't believe we will return but we wold recommend Toast to family and friends. It's a bit different with their online waitlist and the place is informal but the staff was good and the food great which is why I gave Toast 5 stars. read more
