My friend and I were taking a day trip on a Saturday . We were on our way and had a long drive ahead of us. We decided to stop around 930 am to have breakfast. Perfect timing and place! It's a good size place but it gets filled up quickly!! The line is out the door. The staff all work together and they are amazing! So helpful! They offer breakfast sandwiches, pancakes, French toast, omelettes and many of the items can be done Gluten free! So satisfying. Our orders were very good and delicious! The Gluten free bread comes from a local baker . So good! Their breads and muffin are freshly baked on site! The portions are pretty big! You will not leave hungry! I must say this was a wonderful find! Right close to UConn. So if ever in the area, stop in ! Don't forget to check out those yummy specials when you walk in! It's a casual and a family restaurant!

I've reviewed Toast before and it's always been a wonderful breakfast place. Today, I wanted to highlight one of their breakfast specials - crepes with strawberries. 5 star! I've had crepes before in another place and it is a delicious breakfast treat. However, that place has never served it again. Upon entering Toast this morning, and seeing crepes listed on the specials board, I took it as I sign that I must have them. Our server was wonderful. Apologetically telling me only 1 crepe remained ( the serving was to have been 2) and asking if I wanted a piece of French toast in place of the 2nd crepe. I said that 1 would be fine. So it was a good surprise to receive 2 crepes when she brought my plate - there was 1 more available. And of course, I ate them both. Toast is clean & bright. And as a UConn alumni, I appreciate all the memorabilia displayed in the restaurant. Definitely a go to for breakfast when in the area!

Great food and a cute atmosphere! I came here with my boyfriend for brunch which can get a little busy on the weekends, but there's tons of seating. He ordered the country boy which has fried chicken, 2 eggs, home fries, a biscuit and gravy. He loved it, ate the whole plate lol. I ordered strawberry pancakes and home fries and they were both super yummy. This is the perfect comfort food spot. I hope to be back.

Welcoming greeting, friendly waitstaff, delicious food! Great omelette selection and hearty portions!

Truly enjoyed meeting a friend for breakfast today at Toast. Service was excellent and I enjoyed my Eggs Benedict with a side of bacon. Home fries were a little boring though. My friend had a bagel and she enjoyed it. Very clean looking place. I will be taking my wife there one Saturday morning. Recommend Toast!

I was surprised to see how spacious their area was. Great place for family to have breakfast or brunch. I enjoyed my omelette! The cinnamon roll toast was delicious. This was my first time and will definitely go back.

Food wasn't anything super amazing, but it was good nonetheless! I personally love chicken fried steak though, so I'm sure it was just the fried chicken throwing me off. My mom ordered the gluten free chicken and waffles. She had never had chicken and waffles before and wasn't the biggest fan, but that wasn't because of this restaurant in particular. She assured the chicken and the waffle were both great separately! On the plus side, she didn't get sick at all as they have a dedicated GF fryer and waffle iron. Service was good and the restaurant is cozy with a definite small town vibe.

Service was acceptable, but lacking in level of personality or engagement. For me, these characteristics are memorable and would help inspire me to come back. The food was as described on the menu, but equally lacking in pizazz. My Mexican Bowl was lukewarm and my friends' burgers were both well-done, despite only one of them asking for it being this way, and the fries were overcooked. I like crispy, but not to the over-the-top degree to which they were done. Bottom line: Eat here if you are hungry and your needs will be met, but this place could use a lift in sparkle and quality.

During my last visit it was relatively quiet, so I took a seat and went through the menu. My server was very friendly and professional. I took her recommendations and got the churro crepes and peppermint latte. Latte came out quick, same with the crepe. The latte was very sweet, lots of sugar and mint. Coffee flavor was obliterated, and was a bit much for me. Informed my server, offered a drip coffee as a replacement but I opted against. The crepe was going to be a lot of sugar too, so just sent it back. She communicated with her team to watch the syrup pours for future drinks, which is a good proactive move. The churro crepes. Conceptually is a good idea. The cheesecake filling was tasty and a reprieve from the avalanche of caramel syrup and sugar. The churros were warmed up but the server was very honest that they were not made on the spot. Outside of the churro was crunchy and inside was stuffed. The crepe was not warm, so I don't think it was made fresh to order either. When I asked the server, she insisted it was made to order. The price was 21 for the latte and crepe. The price of the crepe was high for the quantity and quality. The latte was reasonable for price, but might want to ask to go light on the syrup. Given the location, it's one of the few breakfast spots around that area. It's not bad, but they do price accordingly for the lack of competition. It's not a trek place, but it's one of the few options around without driving 15 minutes. If you need breakfast in that area, then it works.

Thus, this wasn't our first time here, but will definitely be our last. Getting a table wasn't a problem, as we were the third table to be seated in an otherwise empty restaurant at about 11:50 AM. Although we had a 5+ minute wait for the waitress to actually acknowledge we were waiting to be seated. After being seated, we watched as the two waitresses took orders, seated new arrivals, made drinks, and delivered food and beverages to all of the tables that came after us. We waited 30 minutes before we were able to get the attention of the waitress who originally sat us to ask if we could have our orders taken or even just some water. She wasn't having any of it and snapped at us that there were only two of them working the whole place and walked away. We waited about 10 more minutes of no service before we left and went to a restaurant that knows how to properly staff on a game day. Bottom line: Not Recommended.
