First things first get here early because you will go somewhere else if your hungry waiting 40 min for a table! The cool thing about waiting is you can download the app to see how many people are ahead of you and they text you when your table is ready. When you first walk into Toast it feels pretty tight because the hostess stand is like 4 ft from the door and 12 inches from a 2 person table. However the restaurant itself has a decent amount of square footage. After our 35 min wait we were went up this sexy staircase to an alternate hostess (i assume) who sat us at a table in the back. This place has a tom of seating which means a ton of people and a ton of noise. Luckily it was a tolerable noise level and service was prompt. We ordered the Disco eggs which is french fries brown gravy, cheese curd and over easy eggs. The ratio of fry to gravy was a little off making the dish wet once the yolk spilled over. But damn that gravy is good, literally 15 more french fries would have made a world of difference, also if they were a a thicker cut it would have aided in the process. We also ordered the crab hash which simply crab bacon, home-fry style potatoes and poached eggs (can you tell we love eggs), It wasn't spectacular but it hit the spot, our grapefruit juice was tart sweet and the water was wet. we would recommend this spot to friends and family. read more

I went to Toast for the first time over the weekend. My family and I went for Sunday brunch. Toast was a full house! What really pleased me was how the staff kept it all under control so effortlessly. While we were on the way we joined the list via Yelp. Once we got there we must have waited ten minutes if that. Not only was the food absolutely delicious but it even came out in a timely fashion despite how packed they were. Some of my favorite dishes were: the shananigans salad, the red velvet pancakes and the disco eggs were unbelievable! I will definitely be visiting Toast again very soon. Did I mention they are BYOB? On the way over we put ourselves on the waitlist through Yelp which was very cool and convenient! When we arrived we were seated right away. It's a big place, not what we expected! The decor is appealing too, it has a home-y feel. We shared the Disco Eggs which were INCREDIBLE! We also had a short stack of buttermilk pancakes and they were delicious. I ordered the scrambled eggs with potatoes and toast but it was unfortunately a HUGE letdown. It was not flavorful or yummy at all. I will say their orange juice and coffee were absolutely delicious! This is a very cozy brunch spot. Some place to go for a nice breakfast with your mate or with a friends. Went for brunch on my boyfriends birthday, they allow you to BYOB of wines & light spirits. (If you would like to bring harder stuff, sneaking it into wine or champagne bottle isn't a hassle) Food was pretty good traditional menu options. I got French toast bacon & eggs. Amazing food, great prices and BYOB mimosas! It doesn't get much better than that. I had the lobster roll, which was pure lobster in a roll and totally amazing. It wasn't smothered in mayo and super over priced either like most places in Long Island. For the amount of lobster, and for the price of only $16 it was a steal! My friend had the spinach and mushroom omelet which she loved. The service was okay, we waited for about 10 minutes until we were greeted then an additional 10-15 minutes for our waters and coffee, although we didn't mind since we brought our own champagne for mimosas. The food came out in about fifteen minutes after we ordered, which is great, but we didn't have silverware when the food arrived and had to wait until someone noticed. AMAZING breakfast. We've been wanting to come here for awhile being that my boyfriend and I are breakfast people and we always noticed the reviews and pictures on Yelp. We came on a Sunday around 12. We got here and noticed there was a line. We didn't care and figured this place was worth waiting for. So we gave our number and the hostess said she'll text us when the tables ready and told us 20-30 minutes. We got a text in about 15 minutes. Sweet. My stuffed French toast was AMAZING. Better than what l was expecting. I added blueberries to mine and the sweetness and juicyness of the fruit balanced out the French toast PERFECTLY. It wasn't too much but it wasn't too little. It was the perfect portion size and I didn't feel gross after eating it. His rancheros he said was absolutely delicious. And he's Spanish so he knows his Spanish food. He said he was impressed. We also ordered the cinnamon buns as a little appetizer. Holy shit they were unbelievable. Went for brunch on a Friday at 10 with a friend. We were greeted and seated right away. The waiter came over and took our drink order, my friend got orange juice and I got an Americano. Just got back from my first breakfast at Toast. I wanted to write the review as soon as I got back so that I wouldn't forget any important details. Toast was recommended to me by my roommate. We decided to go together. It's in Montclair, but not really in a cute area. The storefront is adorable, as is in the inside decor. White-washed walls, a very homey vibe. We went on a Friday morning and was surprised at how busy it was, but we did not wait long to be seated. Our waitress was cordial, but nothing to write home about. Now onto the food: We shared the Bella Nutella: 2 pieces of challah bread French toast with Nutella on the inside (like a sandwich) Huevos Rancheros: 2 corn tortillas layered with 2 eggs, manchego cheese, tomatillo sauce and frijoles (vegetarian or meat) And a side of homemade cornbeef hash and 2 cups of coffee. Total: $30.50 (excluding tip) I don't know about you, but I think that is pretty expensive for a breakfast. Don't get me wrong, the food was good--but I think the portions were on the small side. I was by no means stuffed after eating all that (although my roommate was). Additionally, I am a CA native and have had a lot of huevos rancheros in my life and I found Toast's to be lacking in substance. The "frijoles" were a salad-like mix of kidney and black beans, which didn't make it very filling. While I liked the distinct taste of the machengo cheese--I thought it was a bit overpowering and competing with the other flavors of the dish. The hash was good--definitely not the Hormel stuff out of the can. It looks like it had been shredded with a fork and there was chopped potatoes in it. I liked it. The French toast was delicious too, but I think for the price a bit expensive. I mean, it was just 2 pieces of bread with Nutella slathered on it!
