RED BANK: a favorite of Asbury Park (and Montclair), and now in Red Bank for a few years, Toast Red Bank (aka Toast City Diner) is a breakfast, brunch, and lunch restaurant right in the heart of downtown! There is dog friendly seating out front and many delicious options on the menu (including vegan)! Our waitress was super cool and gave us so much attention even though it was very crowded! We came to Toast for brunch with friends. Thankfully we used Yelp's waitlist feature and didn't have to wait upon arrival. I highly recommend you use it since they are petty busy during peak brunch hours. We were seated quickly and started with a round of coffees. Our group of 4 ordered the 2 eggs any style, Irish eggs Benedict, huevos rancheros and the disco fries. The Bella Nutella looked like a must have so we ordered a plate to split amongst the group. Our coffee took quite a while to come out and instead of the Irish eggs Benedict we ordered, we received a traditional order. All of the food was delicious! First time here with my Mom and nephew. I say that as it appealed to 3 generations. Toast found a home in one of the oldest Diners in Red Bank. They preserved the feel of the old place with a modern touch. Just like it's sister place in Asbury it is a buzzing busy place to eat. The food was great, decent portions. Because of how busy it was with the lunch crowd we found service was a bit inattentive. Pancakes and eggs I was told was delicious. I had a chicken, avocado, bacon sandwich on a gluten free bun. Really enjoyed it and the GF roll was so good. They came with vegan sweet potato fries that were baked. We all liked our food but the Butternut squash, which two of us had was horrible. We couldn't eat it, cups left full. They offer gluten free and vegan options. We will definitely return. Rating is between a 3.5 and 3.99. read more

Toast NEVER disappoints. I cannot decide whether I love their salads or their Omelettes best-both are really great. The Spinach, Feta & Mushroom Omelette is a frequent go-to for me. The Traditional Cobb salad is my favorite of the salads, but I think I've tried all of them and have loved them all. The service here is excellent as well, I've always been greeted by a smiling face and treated well. This is one of my favorite places in Red Bank. read more

New Jersey diners are hard to beat, but this one should be at the top of your list! I used to come to this spot as a kid when it used to be the Broadway Diner. It was a tragedy when the diner closed, but when Toast came to town they restored the location to it's former glory and brought their own delicious flavors that filled the hole in the hearts of the Red Bank community. The staff is lovely and is always on top of it! They are extremely COVID compliant, with outdoor seating as well, and do a great job making their costumers feel safe and comfortable. My boyfriend and I had a lovely Easter brunch yesterday and Thomas took such good care of us. He even made us these special Cadbury Egg Milkshakes for Easter that were out of this world! What a cute little dinner in Red Bank! With amole seating from an outdoor patio to booths and bar stool this the restaurant is ready to serve. From what I hear the line on Sundays could be long. As a first-timer I grabbed a stool at the bar, plugged in my phone and browsed the extensive menu. I'm an eggs Benedict girl any day of the week and when I asked the server which of the two; Crab Cake or Smoked Salmon she immediately recommended the Smoke Salmon. I also ordered an ice coffee, just wish they had some flavors, but overall it was good and came in a mason jar glass! The foos came out rather quickly which was a nice surprise and was the right choice! I changed the home fries to French fries and was very happy to have them extra crispy! The egg ran perfectly and with the small kick in the hollandaise sauce I really enjoyed my meal. It's also a cute Instagram spot with cool bar counter, fish mural and old school diner! It was my Mom's birthday and I was flying out to Norway that evening for a recording with Sondre, so we needed to find a convenient middle ground between South Jersey and NYC. We wanted to celebrate with an indulgent brunch and this place had three things going for it: 1) It had carrot cake pancakes. 2) It was named after my Mother's favorite meal for the past 70 years. 3) It had carrot cake pancakes. TOAST may not be your first choice for a healthy meal, but it's definitely a great spot to throw vegetables to the wind and celebrate with an American style feast. Great place to grab breakfast! The Broadway Diner reopened as Toast in Red Bank and we have visited multiple times since we are fans of the Asbury location. There are many options for a healthy or a deliciously, decadent breakfast that it's hard to choose. My personal favorite has always been the Huevos Rancheros. Two corn tortillas layered with two lightly fried eggs, cotija cheese, cilantro, tomatillo sauce, and frijoles, topped with sour cream (vegetarian or meat). If you are a pancake or French toast lover, this is the place to be! They have Red Velvet, Carrot Cake, and Bananas Foster options. You can also get a side pancake for yourself or to share if you can't make up your mind. Prices are reasonable and the service is friendly and efficient. Came here for my sister's birthday this past weekend and were seated immediately - a rare find for a late Saturday morning - by incredibly friendly staff. We chose this place for its range of gluten free and vegan options in addition to classic diner staples and left satisfied. Prices were reasonable, portions were large, and everything was good! I got the tofu scramble, which was more flavorful than it sounded it would be like, but could have used some more add-ins (black beans or vegan cheese). The home fries were delicious, as well. My sister and dad both got eggs made to order and shared a single pancake (the a-la-carte pancake are massive!). The staff even let us hang around after we finished to let us do cake which we brought, and that added to the whole experience. This is a difficult review for me to write. We decided to take a short trip for breakfast and some outlet shopping in the Red Bank area. This location was one of the highest rated on Yelp, so we decided to stop in. This appears to be an older diner that has been remodeled, and sits directly in town. We had to pay to park, and we had to wait approximately 20 mins once we got there (we were on the waiting list via the yelp site). The waiting area is just a bench inside the front door and there is nothing else, so you have stand crowding the doorway, or wait outside. From the looks of things they also offer outdoor seating when its warmer. We sat down for service and it a few minutes for the server to take our drink order. We ordered apple juices for our small children and they arrived in regular sized glass containers, which we thought was odd. My wife ordered the turmeric latte which took about 15 minutes to get. The latte tasted pretty good when it finally came. When the server came back to take our order, I asked if they had scrapple available and she did not know what it was, and never heard of it. And we also asked, if the red velvet pancakes can be served as silver dollar for the kids. She had to leave to get an answer which took about 10 mins. She came back and told us yes, that is fine. So we placed our order. I got the Red Velvet Pancakes as did my kids, and my wife got the brie omelet. We had to wait approximately 35-40 mins for our order. It was quite frustrating watching everyone else get served quickly but not us. The server came back twice during this wait and apologized and did not know why our food was taking so long. And when the bill came she took the coffee off my wife ordered later in the meal as a courtesy. It was just an ok visit for me. The food was good, but not driving 50 minutes, and waiting 35-40 minutes to get it good. read more

While waiting for the good folks at Firestone to do their thing, my brother and I were lucky to find an available table without a wait (packed house). Ordered the turmeric coffee - delicious! We both thoroughly enjoyed a relaxed dining experience with Jess (she's a pro). A few refills of black coffee to thaw out this Arizona desert acclimated body in 22 degrees walking around Red Bank. Eggshells in my eggs was a huge turn-off. The massaged kale salad was still super-bitter and the greens were much lighter so I'm not sure how "massaged" their massaged kale salad is. I went to this location earlier in the week with my girlfriend. She was told something about a place called Toast... and we decided to try out. When I drove by it, I expected different. I really didn't know it was a diner until I saw the place from the outside. Surprisingly, when you walk in it's cozy and warm, not like the average diner. The service was great. We were seated and taken care of within minutes. I had the carrot cake pancakes. They were delicious and sweet but not over sweetened with a side of Turkey bacon. We ate at the bar area on a Saturday afternoon but only because the wait was about 30 mins. They also offer outside seating weather permitting. Parking is street parking. Recently I went to the Toast City Diner in Red Bank, NJ. They have a few locations along the Jersey shore and the menu looked good. I got there around 11 am and it wasn't too crowded. I've heard on weekends it's hard to even get a table. Atmosphere: Toast is located in the downtown of Red Bank. It's a cute, metallic, shiny building. It stood out in a good way. The inside was a metallic interior, with a full length bar, plenty of boothes and tables. One of favorite diner features are built in table juke boxes which toast had. Coffee: The coffee was brewed fresh and hot each time. There was nothing unique or unusual but it was still good. Service: Our waitress was one of the best I've had in awhile. She was extremely friendly, brought over plenty of refills, and our food came out quickly. Food: Toast isn't open all day and only serves breakfast and lunch. They have several different unique breakfast options such as carrot cake pancakes and vegetarian wraps. I was intrigued by the carrot cake pancakes as well as the grilled cinnamon rolls so I ordered both. The grilled cinnamon buns were deliscious. It came with three with melted frosting. The carrot cake pancakes were some of the best pancakes I've had. Often times when you order a flavored pancake like carrot cake or red velvet, it rates artificial or it doesn't taste any different than a regular pancake. This was not the case with toast. The carrot cake pancakes had coconut and actual shredded carrot in them. They were some of the best pancakes I've had in a restaurant. In all, my food was in the top percentage of diners I've been too. Overall Summary/Would I Come Back? I enjoyed Toast and it was one of the better diners I've been too. Best chew steak I've had: perfect fresh torpedo roll, fresh shaved beef, sautéed onions, jalapeños (at my request, without issue) and a side of brown dipping-gravy. Not au-jus, gravy.... Fantastic! Wife had Rueben, and was equally happy. Very lean pastrami, perfect balance of cheese/sauce/kraut so the meat and toast could headline the show. Service was superb.
