Came in on Tuesday night. The decor is super cheesy (ha! get it!?) & CUTE! The girls at the front were friendly & kind. They also have a gluten free menu, you just have to ask. I love their fountain drink machine, it has like 50 different flavors. I ordered the buffalo chicken & my friend ordered as gouda as it gets along with some truffle fries. And that is exactly what I got on my first experience here. While waiting in line, I fell in love with the Periodic Table of Cheese on the wall, as well as the cheese grater lamps and cheese cards instead of table numbers! I ordered the Big Cheese, which features melted Jack, Muenster, and White Cheddar cheeses with arugula. I also ordered the side salad portion of their Baby Blue salad, which is a wedge salad. My sandwich was delicious, but a little bit salty on the outside for some reason. Very filling, though. I couldn't finish it all! Been there a couple times, tried 3 or 4 sandwiches. I like sauce on my burger, the bella burger I ordered was good but needed sauce, once I added some bbq sauce it was great. The bun has a nice crust on the face and it was a little chewy but in a good way. The best thing I've had there is the Mac & cheese, they grill it somehow, it's great without any sauce but awesome once I added a touch of bbq and Worcestershire. Sadly I didn't care for the tomato soup, it kinda had a weird tart flavor to it, but they make it in house, I think it would be better if it was more creamy. It's important to have a really good tomato soup for dipping your grilled cheese in. The owner is there all the time, cleaning up, talking to guests, really nice guy. When I first heard of Toasted's concept, I knew it was something I had to try. I like the grilled cheese + burger idea, I think it's unique and upon entering the place, they pulled it off really well. The inside is reminiscent of Tijuana Flats and was run very smoothly from what I saw. The decor and overall theme seems pretty polished as well, leading me to believe we may see more Toasteds pop up in the future. The menu contains all the basics. Grilled cheese, burgers, fries. The side of tomato soup is a nice touch for a lot of grilled cheese lovers and went over well at our table. I personally ordered the Southern Comfort burger. They asked me how I wanted it cooked (big bonus) and it came out perfectly done. The patty was also a good size, at least 1/4 lb if not a bit more. Overall, the food was very solid and that alone will have me coming back. Onto the service. Like I stated before, Toasted is fast-casual ala Tijuana Flats, so you order at the counter and the food is brought out to you. The food came out promptly and management was also very friendly, stopping by to make sure everything came out well and that everyone was enjoying their meal. They also offer curbside pickup to serve all your pajama wearing, grilled cheese craving, "I don't want to leave the car" needs. First off, I came out of Yelp retirement just for this place. That being said, this place rocks my socks off. I am not from these neck of the woods, and I would take a 2.5 hour plane ride JUST to have a meal here. The food, music, atmosphere, the people, EVERYTHING is amazing. Definitely last meal quality! Grilled cheese. What's not to love? The decore was really cool with a periodic table of cheeses on the wall to cheese grates as their light fixtures. How fun! Or should I say... How cheesy! So excited that I found this cute little spot right by where I work! I went during lunch on Friday and the place was PACKED!! But I am happy to say that even though it was packed our food came out at a very reasonable time. The inside is just the cutest, "cheesiest" thing ever! The periodic table of cheese mounted on the wall is absolutely adorable and they have cheese graters for light fixtures!! The staff was also extremely attentive, the lady at the register was the sweetest person and even stopped by at one point to make sure everything was good. Now onto the most important stuff... the food! I got the goat and fig sandwich and holy mama it was so good! This toasted sandwich has honey, basil, goat cheese and fig and literally just explodes in your mouth with perfection! Tip here... spend the extra $1 and add the applewood smoked bacon, it takes this sandwich to another level!! I also split the Braised Brisket sandwich that included the delicious smoked applewood bacon along with caramelized onions, this was accompanied with a sweet BBQ sauce that was a great side dip for the sandwich. We ordered take-out here the other day. I am a huge fan of all types of cheese, I don't discriminate. On salads, in casseroles, on crackers and sandwiches, on apple pie...it's all good. We ordered: -Blackberry Melt ("Fontina, applewood smoked bacon, blackberry mash, arugula"). It was good, but the bacon was minimal and the blackberry mash didn't have much flavor. It was cooked down (which is probably how it should be served), but it needed some sweetness to balance out the other flavors. -Braised Brisket ("Fontina, braised brisket, housemade BBQ sauce, sweet tea caramelized onions"). This was super good! The brisket was tender and flavorful, onions were caramelized and savory, and the bbq sauce was delicious! -Mac & Cheese ("Jarlsberg, Sharp Cheddar, Gruyere"). Good flavor but we clearly got the bottom of the pan as the cheese was brown/burnt color and hard. The portion is also very small, but I guess it matches the $2.50 price. -Apple Compote, good and similar to what Boston Market serves. Actually, it tastes identical. I cost us $20 for 2 grilled cheese sandwiches, a tiny portion of mac and cheese and some applesauce. BEST GRILLED CHEESE SANDWICHES EVERRRR! When you walk in to this cute restaurant, all you can see is CHEESE. Seriously, look to your right and there's a whole periodic table of cheeses. It poked at my curiosity, because I thought grilled cheese is just all American or Swiss cheese, but NOOOOOOO.. Toasted serves all types of different cheeses. I ordered "As Gouda As It Gets" and this was very different for me, because it had chicken and an Italian feel. As I ordered this, I realized that with all of the cheese, I was trying to be "healthy". So if you're stuck between having a cheat day or being healthy, I think this is a great option for you. It has gouda cheese, chicken, garlic spinach and it matched the dipping tomato soup beautifully. My boyfriend got the Braised Brisket grilled cheese sandwich (at this point, for me I threw away my so-called diet) and I really really really loved this sandwich. All of the bread was butter-toasted to perfection. The brisket has a great BBQ sauce that came with the sandwich. The bbq was sweet and tangy, very different from many bbq sauces that I had the pleasure of tasting. The meat was pulled and was tender. This sandwich was also served with -- let me pause for a second--- SWEET TEA CARAMELIZED ONIONS. Oh my goodness, this sandwich was just absolute perfection especially with the fontina cheese oozing out with every bite (I suggest to not use the tomato soup with this sandwich). My brother and his girlfriend ordered some AWESOME burgers, the Southern comfort (Mac & Cheese in a burger sayyy whaaaaat?!) and Holy Basil (Pesto burger done right). I was fortunate enough to have a bite of the Southern Comfort and I guess it's also my favorite because of that amazing BBQ sauce, bacon and mac&cheese. Great. I really like the set up here. Started by one of the main employees at Sonny's Real Pit BBQ - his XP shows here. They offer both burgers and grilled cheese. From my xp the way to go is grilled cheese. While the burgers are quite good, the "goodness" comes from the bun. Try the meat without any of the fine additions and it is almost flavorless. It is is a shame because every other ingredient and fresh and tasty. It is a small place and I see most people getting grilled cheeses so I have yet to try those but from the amount of business they are doing I would assume they are as good as thier burgers or better. I got the fig & goat grilled cheese, a wedge salad, AND the rosemary fries. The grilled cheese was awesome, however, I think the next time I order it I will try to add bacon. Nothing too exciting to report about the salad and fries but that isn't a deal breaker. Next time I will be trying the mac n cheese. The staff is really what will bring me back time and time again. There's only one thing wrong with this place and that is that it's not closer to my house. What a great little place with creative grilled cheeses and salads. I had the truffle melt which is Havarti, arugula, truffle oil and pepper on local bread grilled to perfection but not before I added my own twist by adding goat cheese and bacon. We ordered the cheese truffle fries as well... the fries were great with truffle and rosemary, the poblano queso to dip our fries in was ok, but grainy from being on the heat too high. I would have loved more spice to the cheese, but the girlfriend really liked it... Speaking of the girlfriend she had the buffalo chicken grilled cheese and she seemed to enjoy it although she would have liked to have a little more heat on it. We also ordered the tomato soup... I mean who can have a grilled cheese without it and it tasted nice and fresh but luke warm. The staff all super friendly and we spoke with the manager who stopped by the table and had a great conversation with them. The menu had a variety of choices including burgers and salads. I had the Braised Brisket grilled cheese, one of their signature items. It was delicious. I have been here a few times and nothing is quite as awesome as some "kid" food to take you back to your childhood. These sandwiches remind you of your childhood in a very adult way... I have tried the as gouda as it gets as well as the buffalo chicken and a few of the more basic grilled cheese sandwiches. I have to say that they have all been pretty good with the buffalo chicken being my favorite. I think I was expecting a little more from the gouda sandwich based off all of the reviews so was a little disappointed. They also have several sides and I have tried the truffle fries (big enough to share with the whole table) and they were crisp and delicious. On its second day open, Toasted knocked my socks off. The food was absolutely delicious, the service- superb; and the atmosphere fun and friendly. The owner came over to introduce himself and ask how everything was, I thought that was a nice touch. I ordered the Truffle Melt and Rosemary Truffle Fries (I like truffle stuff), and it was amazing, I "ooooo'd & aaaaaaah'd" on every bite. My husband got the Sweet Heat turkey burger; he really liked it, but said it could have had more heat. The restaurant also offers vegan versions of pretty much everything. This is a small eatery deep in the Whole Foods plaza in Winter Park. It's an eatery where you order your food at the register, they give you a card, and they bring the food out to your table. The menu is pretty small but the food is pretty good. I ordered the BBQ brisket with "sweet tea" caramelized onions with the truffle fries with rosemary on top. The brisket was average tasting but very tender, but thankfully they give you BBQ sauce on the side for dipping/pouring which made it yummy. The fries were very crunchy, (I'm more of a crispy fries person, but to each it's own), but were tasty. The price range is affordable, mostly under $10! Over the last few months I had read some articles about this new plant based burger and wanted to give it a try. I was really excited to see that Toasted was now offering it. When I walked in, it was smaller than I imagined, but it was clean and I liked their periodic table of cheeses was a nice touch as well. The restaurant was not crowded, so I was able to order right away. The burger was great. Cooked to order and fresh. It was meaty, but not beefy meaty, if that makes sense at all. It is the best version of a plant based burger that I've had and can be a great substitution every once in a while. The price was a little steep at $12.00, but it was worth it for the experience. A couple months ago, we finally made it to toasted! We had been talking about it for months. I actually sampled some of their sandwiches at a yelp event a while back at Redlight Redlight. I was blown away at the flavors and vowed to check the place out. Fast forward, and I finally make it there! It's a quaint, but cute shop. Brightly decorated, is exactly what it needs to be: a great lunch spot to get something fun yet comfortable.. Something different enough from your own lunch routine to keep you coming back regularly enough to see what's new. They also have a good selection of different offerings to warrant return visits for some time. I got the Blackberry Melt because I wanted a savory/sweet combo. My wife was pleased they had a vegan option. So, she ordered the Vegan 101. The blackberry melt was good. But great. But good enough that I want to try more. I think I was expecting the same level of excitement I had at the Redlight yelp event. So, I was a bit disappointed. My wife didn't really enjoy her sandwich. She said the flavors are "OK" but then the sandwich got soggy pretty quickly. At that point, it became unappetizing. The staff were super nice and helpful, offering suggestions.
