Slam Dunk has a great variety of unique as well as classic sandwiches. Service was a little on the slow side, so I wouldn't stop here if I was in a rush--ordering ahead might sidestep that problem. But hey, quality takes time! Their staff is really sweet and patient with any questions you may have. They have some sides to go with their sandwiches, but they were out of the soup that day we dined. All in all, Slam Dunk is great if you're tired of overpriced Panera or bland Subway. We had a group of 8 for dinner on a weeknight. The employee at the register was able to answer questions was kind and polite, and able to make suggestions. They were out of a couple items, it wasn't far from closing- but recommended replacements were suggested quickly. Food came out quickly, and was hot and made to everyone's specifications. My daughter did not like her kids meal grilled cheese, she's crazy it was delicious, but I ordered her a cup of the broccoli cheese soup- which came out quickly, and she ate every bite. When you walk in you can feel something different about this place. The staff are very friendly and helpful, explaining the different options. I saw the sandwich of the week is The Garlic Knot which is A Mix of Provolone Cheese & Shredded Mozzarella. Brushed with our House-Made Garlic Parmesan Butter with a Side of Warm Marinara Sauce to dip. So who doesn't like Garlic Knots . . . and then add grill cheese. I mean what more can you ask for. The bread and grilled cheese were perfect, I wish the the garlic parmesan topping was a little lighter because it was more of a coating then brushed. Fortunatly, that did not slow me down and I removed about half of it. Dipping the sandwich in the warm marinara was the perfect touch. This was my first time eating at slam dunk. It was a decent quick bite for a Cuban-like pressed sandwich. I ended up with a chain-restaurant sandwich that didn't necessarily feel like chain-joint food. I ordered a slam dunk sandwich which had plenty of meat and cheese and was headed well. I enjoyed the sandwich overall. It was counter service and I took it to go. Inside, there restaurant is very no-frills, and makes you very aware that it is a chain joint. Lots of plain white walls, etc. The environment left a a lot to be desired in a dining establishment - even a fast serve one. But again, the sandwich itself was enjoyable. I really wanted to give this place 5 stars--the staff was kind, and the restaurant itself was very clean. But since reviews are about the food, I'll focus there. I ordered the Caesar salad wrap, and unfortunately it just didn't work for me. It was exactly what the name said: Caesar salad in a green spinach wrap. The chicken was more of a puréed chicken salad texture, almost like tuna, and not what I was expecting. After one bite, I couldn't eat it. That said, I wouldn't suggest removing it from the menu--it's true to its description. But I do think it could be elevated. Chef Ramsey once said that what makes a restaurant worth visiting is when the food stands out as something you can't easily make at home. This wrap tasted like mushy chicken rolled with lettuce. Nothing was delicious or different. Maybe if the chicken were in chunks and seasoned differently (something like a jerk-style flavor), it could have been much better. This was my first visit, and while I appreciated the service, I was disappointed in the food I ORDERED. Your experience may be different. read more

Slam Dunk is totally the right name for this place! We've gotten takeout a number of times from here but today we decided to stop by and eat lunch in the restaurant. Oh my gosh, so delicious! The bread is perfectly crispy and pressed making the inside ingredients delicious and gooey. Every sandwich was better than the next. I am so glad to have a locally owned and operated quality sandwich shop in my town! Definitely a must visit! This is a new family favorite! The service was great and very intimate, and they were able to get our food out quickly. It has a small feel to it, where you order the food, sit down, and they bring it to you or you pick it up at the front. I had the Pick Two, which included a soup and sandwich. My soup was a tomato bisque, and it was outstanding. I finished it in a couple of minutes and definitely didn't want to save any for later. My sandwich was the Slam Dunk, and it was amazing as well.
