We were walking around Oldtown looking for a quick bite and a coffee and saw Toastique, it was just what we were looking for. I love a restaurant that specializes and doesn't try to do too much. Toastique has a regular and seasonal selection of toasts, smoothies and bowls and coffees...perfect amount of options without overwhelming diners or venturing into too many categories. Counter service with self serve regular coffee or you can order a speciality coffee. We ordered the burrata toast with crab and a smoked salmon toast. Each toast is served on either sourdough, multigrain or rustic bread or you can choose. Beautifully presented on a board with their "gold" service set, although it was almost too pretty to eat. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I love a casual place that offers a quick meal with an elevated experience.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Happy we stumbled upon it and will return!
I discovered this and loved it as a quick little spot to grab something healthy after a workout class. I love that they gave me a samples of the fresh juices because I couldn't decide which one I wanted. The staff has always been really nice and patient at the store and all of the ingredients are incredibly fresh. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's hit or miss whether or not it is busy in there but it's great for grab and go.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] It is a bit pricey that's why I gave it. Four stars
Definitely an elevated toast breakfast. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Nice little shop with a few table inside.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Staff is friendly and helpful. Took a little longer to get our order than expected but not a crazy long wait and honestly worth the wait. Wife and I got the same thing. 3 cheese Italian toast with an added egg. Very substantial slice of avocado toast loaded with flavor. Maybe the only thing I found issue with was the prosciutto was extremely salty.... Seemed more salty than I've had in the past but if eaten together with the rest of the toast (as intended) was a very good balance. Why the 4 stars? The young lady that took our order said I wasn't allowed to leave a tip with my credit card because they aren't allowed to keep tips and didn't have a tip jar either. Only tips handed to them were they allowed to keep. Not sure if that's a company policy but if so needs to change. Otherwise a great alternative to a big sit down breakfast. Oh and their smoothies are pretty darn good as well.
This is my first time visiting Toastique, after a friend's recommendation. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The place is clean, well-lit and bright.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I enjoyed the quick service at lunch hour. The food presentation was beautiful, looking like a piece of art. In addition to pretty food, it tasted great.
I had about 20 minutes to spare before a meeting nearby, so I decided to pop into Toastique for a quick bite. I went with the avocado smash toast topped with a poached egg -- and wow, when it came out, it looked like a work of art (almost too pretty to eat). That first bite had amazing flavor and had the perfect texture all around. Honestly, one of the best avocado toasts I've had so far. The staff, incredibly warm and welcoming, which made the whole experience even better.
I went to this location on a Sunday morning. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It was more crowded than I anticipated it would be.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I guess this is where the healthy brunch crowd must come to eat. The food took about 10 minutes to be ready. The service was good and the employees were helpful. Superfruit Smoothie: 10/10. It pretty much tasted like an açaí bowl. The main ingredients in the smoothie or açai and strawberry. I did appreciate that the smoothie was not too sweet and didn't seem to have much added sugars. Avocado Smash Toast: 9.5/10. I got the avocado smash toast with a hard boiled egg on top. The egg was sliced and placed on top of the other items. The toast was great. However, because the egg was sliced on top the toppings were sliding everywhere as I was trying to eat the toast. It made for a messy eating experience. However, that didn't take away from the flavor!
So I did not believe that a piece of toast would fill me . I stay humbled and wrong. I got the peach , prosciutto toast. This had burrata, flake salt, arugula, hot honey and balsamic glaze. This was packed with flavor and the peach smoothie I had with it on this hot day was saving my life while making me feel healthy for the doughnuts I will be devouring later lol . [[HIGHLIGHT]]This was just as beautiful as the venue with very prompt and polite service.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]
I'm starting a Mediterranean diet which holds avocado heavily as a food to eat in most meals. So I was looking for a local place that served avocado toast. I love the concept and tried the smash toast with egg (hard boiled). Pretty tasty but a bit overpriced. I placed my order over the phone and was serviced really quickly. By the time I arrived everything was ready for pick up. The ambiance is really aesthetic as well. It's a nice addition to Alexandria.
[[HIGHLIGHT]]Clean, refreshing, basic with slight twist.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] It's mostly a deep breath of "I'm here to feed my body a clean snack and drink." They have several cold press juices. They are all blended with fruits and veggies. I've tried almost all of them and the metabolize is my favorite. Another items that's enchanting, and after several weeks later I'm still think about it, is that avocado toast. Basic, I know. I mentioned that but LOOK! It is as delicious as it is gorgeous. I had coffee here. Regular shhmegular." Volcán coffee a few blocks down is better for coffee. Don't slip the avocado toast tho!
I popped into this place and I immediately felt revived. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The ambiance is clean, fresh vibes with hip music playing in the background.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The have a variety of juices, smoothies, sandwiches, and açaí bowls to choose from. I tried the Matcha bowl with spinach base, topped with fresh dates, granola, honey, strawberry, pineapple, cacoa nibs, etc... it was delicious. I would love to try other bowls and sandwiches. Service was quick & with a smile. Highly recommend

Great idea! A friend suggested this and I was surprised I never heard of it. We went on a Saturday morning around 9:30am. There was only one person at the time but a steady stream of customers arrived as we ate. We decided to split the avocado and the three cheese. It was a good idea since one was cold and one was hot. They were very different but both good. The avocado toast had more of an avocado spread versus slices. It had a slight zing from the jalapeños. The three cheese had a generous portion of ham. Food and juice was great. I had the smoked salmon and it was really good. Service was quick and nice. Only negative comment, I wouldn't recommend this place if you're trying to work/read/study the music is pretty loud. read more

Enjoyed a balance juice and the berry overnight oats with peanut butter drizzle. Quite filling. My husband got the avocado toast and enjoyed that as well. He was hoping for a nice cup of coffee to go with it but we had to get that next door as this spot only had nitro cold brew. read more
A little bit on the pricy side but both toasts I got were high quality. If you compare them to the expensive bagel I got in New York, these were relatively packed. I typically avoid heavy meals, and thankfully these felt both light and healthy. I've always enjoyed salmon so I'd be happy to reorder the smoked salmon toast down the line. read more
My friends and I have been wanting to channel our inner Millennial and find a place that does a solid avocado toast without necessarily breaking the bank (as I've been to places that charge almost/over $20 for their avo toast). I came across Toastique from a quick Yelp search and decided to come here and order two toasts and two acai bowls to share. Wow. I am impressed by the toast. The smoked salmon one was delicious- this one did not come with avocado but they did not skimp out on the salmon. Usually when I order a Lox bagel or anything of that nature, I would be saddened by the lack of salmon that rested upon the bread. Not here. Toastique takes care of their salmon lovers with a heaping amount of salmon on their toast. The avocado toast was delicious- garnished with micro greens and watermelon radish slices, and marinated with a tangy yet balanced vinaigrette. Wow. Would highly recommend! The acai bowls were also good. I wish the portion size was a bit bigger, and I wish it had more exciting toppings (or a prettier design given the fact that the toasts are epic), but it was refreshing especially after a long morning walk with friends. Super trendy, modern, delicious spot for breakfast, brunch or just because on the cutest street in Alexandria. I love their unique take on a simple breakfast dishes. The service was fantastic- my husband somehow dropped the poached egg off my toast and they quickly remade me one without hesitation. They have a large menu with a variety to choose from. I ordered the 3 cheese toast covered with jam topped with prosciutto, arugula and an egg which was soooooo yummy!!! My husband had an açaí bowl which was equally as tasty. Toastique is one of our go to favorites. Very health, almost all non-processed food, and delicious. Unique items too, like Peanut butter cup with dark chocolate, peanuts, dates, maple syrup and sea salt, that's it! Their toasts are amazing and various juices and smoothies. You can't go wrong if you want something healthy and tasty! Oh, and great indoor eating, beautifully decorated, great music. read more

My first time at a Toastique. I finally decided to give it a try since my friend raved about it before, and I have passed by it so many times. I ordered the smoked salmon toast and it was delicious. Loved the bread, the salmon and fresh cucumbers. Can't go wrong. I docked this place two stars for two reasons: (1) the price, and (2) the service. We could blame it on inflation, but $15 for a slice of bread, some slices of salmon, and some veggies seems a bit much, especially something I could totally duplicate for cheaper. But aside from the price, the service made me feel wronged. The guy serving the orders was delivering orders to the other dine-in customers, but for me, he just called out my name and left my order on the counter. Yes, it was a pick-up counter, but if he's going to serve the other customers at their tables, why was I any different? I won't be coming back to Toastique, but not because of the guy not serving me. It's just not for me, but if you go and you're into it, go right ahead. read more

Randomly stubbled across Toastique while I was getting my eyebrows done at my usual spot in Old Town. Upon entering I was greeted by a warm and friendly staff that were working hard to push orders out. The menu highlights a variety of gourmet toast (which have become very popular on brunch menus), bowels, fresh juices and smoothies. I opted to try the smoked salmon toast which includes smoked pastrami salmon, herb cream cheese spread, thinly sliced cucumbers, micro greens and avocado (added extra) on sourdough toast. When my order was ready, I have to admit I was thoroughly impressed with the presentation and quality of what I ordered. This one piece of toast was so filling I was only able to eat half of it. I will definitely be back to try other menu items at Toastique. read more

The Avocado Smash Toast is so delicious. The service was quick, and they crafted a beautiful distance in a relaxing space. I went back the next morning because I needed to eat it again! Use a real fork (which they offer) because I quickly broke my plastic fork. read more
Looks great, right? Wrong! Store bought multi grain bread. Guacamole (yuck? Not avo toast) out of a tub with lots of citrus, good tomatoes, crisp radishes. This is a fake place. They dress up terrible industrial grade ingredients and then charge an arm and a leg. This is cafeteria food at 24 bucks for toast and a coffee. Stay away. read more

I was in the mood for a breakfast smoothie, so I ordered the "Iced Brew" smoothie - Although it contains coffee as one of the ingredients, it's not strong in the coffee flavor at all - a good smoothie if you're not in the mood for a fruity smoothie but want something delicious and refreshing! Also ordered the DragonBerry bowl, which was not only beautiful but also amazingly tasty. I ordered it in the morning to have for lunch so I kept it in the fridge, and it still tasted great, fresh, everything intact. Toastique has great presentation in its food and also uses healthy and fresh ingredients. Doesn't make you feel guilty at all to scarf it all down. Really enjoyed my order, and highly recommend if you want a nice breakfast or lunch tastes good and makes you feel good :) read more

Had time for a quick bite and id been meaning to try this place as I work a few blocks away. The place is nice and bright with plenty of tables for 1 or 2 people. If you have a group of 3 or more it can be a bit difficult to get seated next to each other, especially at lunch time. Although it wasn't busy when we arrived it did fill up while we were eating. Everything is made from scratch so multiple orders (ours was a party of 4) can take a little while, but it's worth the wait. First, the presentations of each item we ordered were beautifully done. Especially the Avocado Smash that featured attractive slices of Watermelon Radishes on top of the lovely green of the 'cado. I had the tuna toast. it was terrific. Chopped tuna in a marinade topped with delicious tomatoes, over a bed of a rich leaf lettuce on a nicely toasted multigrain piece of bread. My colleagues had the aforementioned Avocado Smash and the OG Acai. Both reported they were terrific as well. Needless to say, this place has healthy AND delicious items to fill you up. My only complaint is that they only have plastic cutlery so slicing the toast with the tasty toppings is a bit of a feat. Now that I've experienced Toastique, I know that I'll be back. read more

I was in Old Town for a dentist appointment a couple of months ago and I stopped at Toastique after taking a recommendation from the receptionist at the office. I've returned to Toastique quite a few times since my last dentist visit. I'm not the biggest fan of gourmet toast, but what keeps me coming back is the GingerBerry smoothie. It has a very consistent blend of pitaya, strawberry, mango, ginger, agave, lime juice, and coconut water- with the right balance of thickness and liquid. In other words, you don't have to stir/mix these drinks endlessly while you're consuming, nor are there chunks of fruit in your sips through the straw. I tried the Green Machine during one of my stops here but never repeated that order as I found the banana to be a bit overpowering. Overall, Toastique is a very clean, vibrant, and well-designed juice bar with a kind and attentive staff. Although I stretch my pockets more here than Tropical Smoothie, the quality is worth it. read more

So. Much. Yum. I thought the only kind of toast was avocado toast but boy was I wrong! Toastique has an entire menu of delicious-sounding toasts. It took me awhile to decide (since they all sounded amazing) but ended up ordering the tomato and burrata toast. It was ready within a few minutes and was so, so good! They did not skimp at all on the toppings. In addition to the burrata spread on the toast, it was piled high on top, as well as the tomatoes, and a balsamic glaze drizzle. While it was a bit messy, I thoroughly enjoyed it and had to contain myself not to lick the board when it was all gone. They don't serve just toasts, though. They also offer an entire menu of bowls and juices! read more

We tried the smoked salmon and burrata toast and both were delicious. It was a counter service and casual place with outdoor and indoor seating. The toasts were large, beautifully plated, and came out quick! Definitely recommend for a quick bite in Alexandria. read more
I flew into town from Florida and was staying up the street... I walked over in the cold because it wasn't that far from my hotel. I actually went twice, I ordered a few things the first time. The superfruit smoothie and it was delicious. Also the elderberry kombucha and a shot which was the immunity + I think was the name. The second time I just got the gingerberry smoothie and the vital punch shot name could be wrong again... I enjoyed them all... read more
We tried this spot for breakfast since it's across the street from where we were staying. The toast platters are quite fresh and good, we tried an avocado one and the PB one. -1 star for the borderline obscene prices for a slice of bread and some toppings. The service also isn't great. The woman at the counter did not smile the entire time, made us wait almost 5 minutes to order while she fiddled with whatever she was fixing in one of her refrigerators, and just wasn't friendly. I went with my husband on a Sunday morning. Service was quick. We ordered the avocado smash, 3 cheese Italian, and the Purple Heart. I loved the avocado smash, had good flavors, I would get it again. My husband liked his three cheese Italian and smoothie. Both were a lighter, fresher breakfast option. The Purple Heart smoothie had no added sugar and the pineapple was not a prominent flavor but still tasted good. The one thing we agreed was that everything was good but had muted flavors, no flavorbombs here. We enjoyed it and would go again. read more

Tried Toastique on a weekday for a late breakfast. Ordered Avocado Toast on Multigrain with hard boiled egg. It was beautifully presented and delicious! The tomato was the only detraction, was a little too marinated for me; I still like some tomato flavor. Otherwise, worth it! Would love to return to try some of the juices they offer. Restaurant and bathroom were clean. Didn't have too much interaction with staff, but the brief time I did, staff was courteous and pleasant. read more
