a takeout container with rice, chicken, and carrots

Wow this place has gone downhill over the past few years. Chicken was hard as a rock, rice was mushy . Won't be back.

Every time I thought I was out, those samples pull me back in. When you go into any food court at any mall, the Chinese/Japanese vendors dominate handing out chicken samples on toothpicks, which inevitably draw you in to buy their food. Tobu is a both a Chinese and Japanese food vendor in the food court at the Town Center. The food at both of these vendors is exactly what you'd expect, just mediocre. And even then, every time you eat one of those samples you can't help, but to be drawn in by that taste. Now I'm not saying that the sample is the only thing is good here, if you enjoy the food court Asian taste, go for it, but my advice is enjoy the sample while it lasts and move on. I always fall for it and order a meal, usually the Chicken Teriyaki from the Japanese side, which is what I recommend the most. The cost for a Chicken Teriyaki meal is almost $8.00! Yikes, these food court stalls are hiking up their prices to levels that are getting out of hand. Plus, we added extra chicken which was another $1.59, because the amount they give you in the regular portion is just not enough. Tobu is food court 101, an oldie, but a goodie. Pick your own commonly used phrase, because this place is a staple here and if you ever need a quick meal, this is a decent spot for it. Food (B-), Pricing (C-), Atmosphere (B), Service (B-)

Completely disgusted! The owner of this place has two con joining restaurants. The Japanese hibachi side and a Chinese side. Employees work both counters. Working in the mall, there's on a few food options so we've been here several times. One bonus is they give you a frequent customer card. 4 punches and you'll get a free meal. On the day that I went to redeem mine, I ordered two orders. My total was $24, I said shouldn't there be $12 off because I have a free one? He points and shouts at me "food here is expensive, I gave you the discount already". Well sir, a chicken teriyaki is not $24!! So I asked him to look at the receipt, he responds "stupid fu**ing machine, always has problems they could get it fixed but they won't, I hate this place" now he proceeds to give me $8 and some change in cash from the register.... ok .... so it's ok to make a mistake, yell at a customer, and then curse? If you hate your job so much why don't you quit? I didn't catch his name, but he's a petite man in his late 20's. Blonde hair with blueish green highlights through it, stands about 5ft tall. I'm outraged, even after my fiancé told his manager, he's still working there and has not apologized to me!

Terrible. Had to toss it out. Old food, Flies on food since on counter, Food only warm. Wilted cabbage and broccoli.

I got the Sesame Tofu, and it was a good-sized portion of nicely fried tofu and lots of perfectly cooked broccoli. My boyfriend got the Garlic Chicken combo dinner and he was pleasantly surprised with everything, even the wonton soup that came with his meal. The guy working there that day was not expecting us to want to dine in, since it seems like all of their customers order takeout or delivery, but he gladly gave us some disposable plates and plastic utensils after we got our food in takeout containers. He was very nice and seemed both appreciative and amused that I attempted to speak in Cantonese with him (I am very rusty). Again, since it's a takeout spot, there were only two small tables inside and no outdoor seating, but it was extremely clean inside and very bright, unlike most Chinese takeout spots. Would happily come back here and try other tofu dishes!
