It was vaguely Asian cuisine inside a mall food court. It was serviceable at best. I would have liked just a small plate with one entree and rice, but the only option here is a two entree combo plate. The rice was as expected, the bourbon chicken was a little on the dry side, and the chicken and broccoli was the best thing on my plate (but the bar wasn't set high). Service was doing their best but there seemed to be a large language gap that was hard to overcome to communicate clearly. The seating is food court seating. I was surprised for such a high end mall that the seating area is actually pretty run down. I get the idea after Covid no one really cared to invest in that area. Everytime i go to the mall I have to eat here. They never disappoint on the bourbon chicken serving. I wish they did pickup so I didn't have to come to the mall just to get this. I always get bourbon chicken, lo mein and white rice and the little sauce that comes with it. It hits the spot everytime and it's so filling! Every time I thought I was out, those samples pull me back in. When you go into any food court at any mall, the Chinese/Japanese vendors dominate handing out chicken samples on toothpicks, which inevitably draw you in to buy their food. Tobu is a both a Chinese and Japanese food vendor in the food court at the Town Center. The food at both of these vendors is exactly what you'd expect, just mediocre. And even then, every time you eat one of those samples you can't help, but to be drawn in by that taste. Now I'm not saying that the sample is the only thing is good here, if you enjoy the food court Asian taste, go for it, but my advice is enjoy the sample while it lasts and move on. I always fall for it and order a meal, usually the Chicken Teriyaki from the Japanese side, which is what I recommend the most. The cost for a Chicken Teriyaki meal is almost $8.00! Yikes, these food court stalls are hiking up their prices to levels that are getting out of hand. Plus, we added extra chicken which was another $1.59, because the amount they give you in the regular portion is just not enough. Tobu is food court 101, an oldie, but a goodie. Nasty and the manager is is rude and disrespectful. Went here on Sunday to get something to eat. I had bourbon chicken orange chicken rice and vegetables with a medium coke. my meal was about 20 dollars in total. After I ate all my food and finished my soda I opened it to eat the ice only to find the body of a dead bug and a long strand of hair wrapped around the ice and the straw. My husband took it back to the counter and the manager took the cup and threw it in the garbage refused a refund, didn't apologize and only offered a refill saying that the hair was not from them. SO I went over to the counter and told him what happened, this man told me that I was lying like 4-5 times. Can you believe it? A manager calling a customer a liar. He continued to say you're lying I dont believe you, I will not give you a refund, the hair is not ours. My husband and I are black with curly hair, the hair in the cup was long and straight. We happen to be in the mall and we decided to try this place. It has a Japanese side and Chinese side. We ordered the Bourbon Chicken, fried rice and plantains. The lady serving the food had no personality...she was almost robotic. She didn't greet customers and was in a bad mood. We paid for our meal and then we sat down and had taste of it. Boy, we should have gone to the Japanese side! The chicken was the last in the container and it was all dried up and the rice was hard and undercooked. We had some bites and just threw it away. Completely disgusted! The owner of this place has two con joining restaurants. The Japanese hibachi side and a Chinese side. Employees work both counters. Working in the mall, there's on a few food options so we've been here several times. One bonus is they give you a frequent customer card. 4 punches and you'll get a free meal. On the day that I went to redeem mine, I ordered two orders. My total was $24, I said shouldn't there be $12 off because I have a free one? He points and shouts at me "food here is expensive, I gave you the discount already". Well sir, a chicken teriyaki is not $24!! I recently was at Boca mall, the chef (heavy set man, with tattoo on arm) who was cooking the fresh teriyaki meats, was very unprofessional. First off, he was on his phone while cooking, how gross is that! Do you know how much bacteria is on a cell phone? There should be a policy against using your phone while cooking. Second, he told me my Bento box will take 20 minutes to cook, then they said they didn't have any dumplings, then they started saying that they would give me spring rolls. I did not want spring rolls! By the end of the conversation, they said they can give me extra meat or veggies, so I said I would have extra veggies. He proceeded to slap the food onto the box very messy, and obnoxiously, as if I was inconveniencing him! I told him he had a bad attitude, and he rolled his eyes at me.
