I love Korean food and I love Bibinbop- not sure how to spell. First the positive. Food was good and there was a lot of it. They also provided free green tea for the table. Negative. The food was cold. I ordered with the hot stone and the only thing that was hot was the fried egg on top. I love when the rice gets burned a bit on the bottom but was barely warm. It was also supposed to be beef and veggie. I think I found two small pieces of beef. For service you ring a bell which is weird. We sat in the middle of the room and you would think they would at least check on you. And did I mention the live ROACH we found on our table? We told them and they just had us switch tables. Surprised to find good Korean restaurants in LaGrange - quite unexpected. And quite delicious I might add! We had the B8: grilled petrale sole (fish), which was quite tasty. I personally prefer grilled mackerel (B9) but my friend wanted the sole. Still didn't disappoint. We had the chicken teriyaki which I wouldn't normally order if I wasn't on a diet. We got sauce on the side and I salt and peppered it, still good. Our table also ordered the Tonkatsu (which has huge portions, two layers of deep friend pork), C7: Bone-in Haejanguk (hangover soup), and C2: Bulgogi in a hot pot. Service, specifically the waitress was very lousy here. I had been there many times before but don't know what has happened, apparently new people running it and their wait staff is horrible. My waitress didn't seem to speak much English and had hard time communicating with her. The bell on my table was broken and nobody came to get my order! Had to keep waiving at passing waitress to get her attention and after finally telling her what I want never checked on me again. At register when I went to pay, it was her who ring me up and never said anything to me besides asking cash or cc! Never said thank you or bye or any other common farewells. I decided to give this place one more chance before I completely took them off of my list - mainly because of the lack of really good Korean restaurants in this area. So I returned on Saturday night, April 27, to see if they had ironed out any wrinkles. They have. It is true that they have a new name and a new management, and some of the recipes may be slightly different. Perhaps not better or worse than the former management, but in someway is different. I love this place! I have lived in South Korea for years as a student and teacher. As someone who has a degree in Korean Studies, it doesn't get more authentic than this. Many of these dishes are homestyle. They are the types of dishes my friends' mom's would make. They are considered staple dishes and traditional meals. I have never had a bad experience, the food is incredible, and the ladies who work there are so sweet! If you ever want a chance to try authentic, delicious, and traditional Korean food, please give this place a chance! I love them. Personally I am a big fam of the mackeral () but the LA galbi or spicy samgyupsal/pork belly combos are also great! Please try the naengmyun (, cold noodles) during the summer season! read more

I was driving through here and didn't know what was around. Thankfully, yelp helped me find this wonderful Korean restaurant. Korean food has always been a favorite of mine, especially galbitang (beef rib soup). I ordered the galbitang and it came at the right temperature and had a wonderful flavor profile. My son-in-law said he thought you were mad at him, or you didn't like him. Also, my daughter agreed with him. My personal feeling about you was that you made me feel uncomfortable. Happened upon this place while in the area for a trip to Great Wolf Lodge. This was my first experience at a Korean restaurant. We ordered the egg rolls as an appetizer and I had the short ribs for my entree. Both were delicious! My husband and daughter both ordered the chicken teriyaki. For right now this place gets a one star. We show up on a Saturday night at 5:30 and the place is closed. The digital sign and social media all says open on Saturday. This goes to show you how important it is to update your social media info. Businesses cannot just make a paper sign and expect customers to get the message. This is a Korean BBQ restaurant tucked away in a small town in the south. That being said...the food is really good. This restaurant is very authentic, the TV is on Korean new and English wasn't our server's first language. We worked through our language barriers and we ordered the beef shoulder. The drawback is we weren't sure what our sides were and there was a CLEAR miscommunication on what the price was. I thought the price was for 2 people and they charged us double. If you're looking for a food adventure...definitely try it, but if you have anyone that speaks Korean, bring them along. read more

Mashi Soyo!! ("Delicious" in Korean). A country-style lodge cafe atmosphere with good down home-style country Korean cooking Eatin' - it's as if the South met Korea and made this place in La Grange, GA - one of the best kept Korean restaurants in the Atlanta suburb vicinity - I would travel just to come here! We were immediately seated in one of the party rooms that seated a family and served fastidiously - and I mean quickly! We ordered fried dumplings, short rib soup, ox knee soup, bulgogi, Korean seafood pancake, and bossam - all for less than $100, and there was so much food and leftovers. The Korean pancake was so thick and big and juicy - that thing came out first and was huge! This place felt like a nice old Korean grandma was making all of the food with love and serving generous portions for the family. It's a great way to experience a family style restaurant in a traditional-modern korean style. This place has authentic Korean "soju" food, which I LOVE. Almost everything here tastes great. Some of my favorite dishes are dogani sooyook (tendon soup), kimchi jeongol (kimchi stew with pork), and bossam (pork belly wrap). Their side dishes and kimchi are delicious as well. read more

You all have to realize Korean food probably did not exist in this city if it wasn't for the Korean automotive industry (Kia Motors Manufacturing Georgia and it's suppliers). There isn't much in Lagrange but has a couple Korean places to eat however this is the best out them. Service is not on the good or bad side - but that's expected in a Korean restaurant, hence they all have buzzers to get your attention. It also maybe because they don't hire that any servers. Besides that this place has a lot of different choices of foods. My company often has hwae-shik (company dinner often involves Korean BBQ and alcohol). Often times during these dinners we'd order pork belly or beef short rib pieces. Their pork belly is pretty thick so it takes time to cook but very savory. With your meat they provide the traditional sesame oil, salt, and pepper mix, spicy soy bean paste sauce, and the roasted grain powder. For the short beef rib pieces they provide this sweet teriyaki type sauce that goes really well with the meat. All BBQ is served with various Korean side dishes known as bahn-chan. Changes from time to time... Depending on when you go. Overall I enjoyed and will enjoy dining at Todamgol. read more

Oh my gosh, what a treat and surprise! Yelp gets the credit for this one as we happened to be in the area when a friend of mine found this place on here and we figured what the heck being fans of Korean food. Long story short, even though it's a good bit away we've talked about driving back just to go here... reasonable prices for the food on offer, nice interior, and friendly service although you may be in for some back and forth with the waitress as the English for ours wasn't particularly great, but that's not a knock on them... it's much better than my Korean will ever be after all! We got there in the end, and our shared plate that the three of us ordered to split as a starter was so big when combined with the other sides that we couldn't even manage a main... we ended up walking out with a ridiculously small bill for such a large amount of food, the only sad thing being we had picked out different mains to try that we simply couldn't bring ourselves to order after the glorious initial offering... we simply promised to return! The only small letdown would have been the complimentary soup as it really lacked flavour, but the other side dishes that are included were spot on and I liked that there was some variation versus what I've seen at other Korean restaurants. I plan to hit this place up at least one or two more times before heading back to the UK, and I'm no stranger to Korean food, so I'm hoping the five stars will stand, but I'm definitely more excited about here than any other Korean restaurant I've been to in a while and I loved that the spicy dish we ordered was actually spicy... not blow your mind spicy, but spicy enough to satisfy the two heat fiends while not so crazy to upset the one of us that lives on the milder side.
