I returned to her because back then she gave me good vibes, tried to help with my situation, and even completed a document to ensure my insurance covered it. It was medically necessary. Today I came in for a mole consultation. I've had this mole my whole life, or for as long as I can remember, but it has slowly grown. It's been itching, and I'm now able to squeeze it between my fingers. Long story short, I was concerned about the cancer implications. It doesn't take long to notice that the business is 'money first, everything else later'. I provided my credit card and paid the $200 upfront cost, but had to once again provide this information when I arrived. I understood it was a cosmetic procedure, so it would likely not be covered by insurance, but was more concerned about the possible cancer part. Once you know this, and are okay with that, I suppose it is what it is. Once Dr. Rodney arrived for the consultation, she provided a few options: freeze it or surgically remove it to ensure the 'root' was removed as well. Of course, the surgical option would cost more. If she froze it there was the possibility I'd have to return due to its thickness. I opted for the surgery. The technician whipped out her payment system so I could pay right there on the spot. Perhaps others have run out the door before making payment? I don't know. I suppose anything is possible. We moved to another room, and Dr. Rodney proceeded to remove the mole. She numbed the area so I felt no pain. It was rather quick. I'll return in 10-days to have the stitches removed. I'll update that part after. Overall, it was quick & painless. Well, the only pain was to my wallet, which I would have minded less if they went about it another way. IMO, I prefer the Dr. Rodney of old.

When I asked about my scalp and hair issues, she seemed visibly annoyed, sighing and reluctantly getting up to take a look. It felt as though if you're not paying for cosmetic or cash-based services, the level of care and attention drops significantly. I waited months for this appointment and spent barely ten minutes. The office itself also appears worn down, with noticeable stains on furniture and equipment, which doesn't inspire confidence. Sadly, this visit confirmed what several other reviews have mentioned, poor bedside manner and an overall lack of care. I won't be returning.

I have thick hair and it grows really fast but after my first visit with Magdalen I noticed about only 60% of my hair growing back. Feedback on Recent Salon Experience Dear Manager/Owner, I've been a loyal customer since your Burtonsville location opened and have always appreciated the excellent service. However, my recent visit left me very disappointed. When I booked my appointment, I explained that I wanted the white areas in the front colored and my highlights to stand out, as I usually wear my hair up. In the past, my stylist Michelle would confirm color choices and make adjustments to ensure I was happy. This time, I wasn't shown any color options and was simply told, "I'll do the same." The process also felt unusual one side of my hair was washed first, then the other, which I've never experienced before. During the service, color accidentally got on my face and eye. While the stylist apologized and cleaned it, it was uncomfortable. After the color was finished, I noticed no visible change. When I mentioned this, I was told I'd need a full permanent color, which has never been required before. Previously, if I asked for more color, my stylist would add toner or shine to make sure I was satisfied. This time, the response felt rushed and dismissive, as if no effort was made to meet my expectations. I see no highlights in my hair at all no one noticed anything. When I tried to discuss it, I felt like my concerns were brushed aside, and it seemed like the staff was not interested in addressing what I was asking. I know the owner and have always appreciated her efforts to maintain great service, but she was not there during my visit. I value the relationship I've had with your salon, but this experience was disappointing. I hope you can address this and ensure better service in the future. I had a great experience here. The girl at the front desk was so helpful. She sat on the phone with me and listened to my hair type and exactly what i wanted then she gave me recommendations based on what I told her. They have 2 things that I really love. 1. They work on a "level system" from 1-4. Level 1s have the least experience and are less expensive. The levels go up as does the price and the experience of the stylist. 2. They have a 10 day guarantee! If you get home and you don't like it, go back and they'll fix it! I did go back and got 2 more inches off. I ended up with Tabitha who was fantastic! I have long, fine hair and I wanted a trim and some more movement in it along with some natural layers in the front. You might be surprised how many people can get that wrong. She did a great job and I couldn't be happier. read more

I went from cutting my locs of 16 years to coming in for a Brazilian blowout and pixie cut. She skipped the last 3 steps of the brazilian blowout, cut my hair in the shape of a 70s Afro instead of pixie and didn't seal the style so my hair was ruined within 30 minutes of being outside directly after my appointment. There are quite a few things wrong with my experience. She was aware the brazilian was not done correctly and said she was willing to go over the areas that were not done correctly. When I mentioned how the cut was wrong her reply was, "I did the best I could". She did not mention how my hair was so badly damaged but said that is why certain parts are too short, when they were no were near that short when I came in. She told me to come in to get it fixed but also tried to make me get a hair treatment and when I denied she was conveniently unable to answer her phone or return my call/message so my hair was never fixed. She also waited until I was halfway through my hair appointment to tell me that she normally charges $450 for a Brazilian but because I have LITERALLY one inch of hair she did it for $300. After the product is put in the hair, it is supposed to be blow dried and then flat iron and then rinsed and then style. However, she did not rinse it, but the flat iron after the blow dry of the initial Brazilian product was how she finished my hair. And then told me afterwards that my hair texture takes better that way, which I find hard to believe. Bad experience once I got the true results. Do not recommend. Very money hungry lady that appears friendly and well meaning. She also gave me a warning that she is not gentle so yes, she yanked my hair plenty of times. I was patient while in the chair but now I'm actually furious about my experience, lack of customer service and transparency.
