I absolutely love tofu soup and this place always satisfies my cravings. They have a delicious mushroom tofu soup (vegetarian). I always get it at the highest spicy level so it comes with jalapeños as well. Hot, spicy, and delicious! The meal doesn't come with as many side dishes as it would at a restaurant, but they still come with a good amount (usually 3 or 4). I've also tried their stone pot bibimbap which is really delicious as well. Tip: you can ask for it with meat and it'll be vegetarian friendly! I couldn't have been more impressed with the tofu soup here. My expectations were pretty low especially considering that it's a restaurant located inside a food court. I ordered the tofu soup with pork. Let me tell ya, the soup was made to perfection. The tofu had the right amount of firmness where it didn't break at the touch of my spoon but no chewing was necessary. They only put enough tofu in the soup to fill it up but not to the point where there's hardly any broth left. The biggest shocker for me was the amount of pork in the soup. Each bite I took had a couple pieces of pork in it. Yum-o-licious! The soup was accompanied by several side items which were okay. I could've lived without 'em. It's cute how they put everything on a small cart that you push to your table. But bring the cart right back as the lady would sort of yell at you as you're carting the food to your table. This place just opened inside the "Food Court" next to Asia World Market. I got the Seafood Tofu Soup at the "very spicy" level at a special "grand opening" price of $6.99. What a deal!!! You get a couple side dishes with it including fried fish, cold korean mashed potato salad, kim chi, pickled cucumbers, and cold noodles. The soup itself was boiling hot and it was pretty spicy. It wasn't so much of a mouth-burning spicy, but more of a body-warming-spicy (and potentially heartburn 2 hours later)... feeling. It was good, though. Very soft tofu and a couple bits of clam here and there and maybe like... one shrimp. It would have been nice to have more seafood in there. All-in-all, pretty filling meal for the price. Plus, there's so many other options in the food court... it's great! You can end the night with a yummy shaved ice (bao bing) or a bubble tea from another restaurant. :) read more

I saw this place when I went to tasty tails and wanted to try it the next time I was in the area. Finally got to try it last weekend and with some friends and for a booth/fast food type feel, it wasn't too shabby! I ordered the beef tofu soup. It came with rice and sides of different radishes, cold noodles, broccoli, and Kim chi. The soup came out piping hot, just the way I like it! It was a generous portion too. The rice was good. Not sure what type of rice it was cause it was kind of a dark tint of blackish purple. The radish was eh, could've been better. I put the noodles in my soup instead of using it as a general side dish. I didn't have to wait in line, they accept credit/debit cards compared to the other places in the food court that didn't, and it's a full open seating. Yes, They give you a lot of ban chan (side dishes), but the quality of the dishes aren't very good. They're about quantity, not quality. I'm Korean, so I'm quite particular when it comes to Korean food. I ordered their pork tofu soup and that was okay. The broth was flavorful and spicy, but a tad bit oily. The bulgogi was decent; my daughter enjoyed the combination of sweet and saltiness. Plus, it was a good sized entree! The bibimbap had a generous amount of rice, but for some reason, they skimped a bit on the veggies, and were stingy on the beef. Their cold noodles (mul naeng myun) was by far the worst though! The broth tasted like vinegar and msg. The first two times I've eaten here, it was better. They even gave me a fried fish and when I asked for an extra bowl of rice (ordered the jae yook bokkum/spicy pork and kimchi soup) they obliged. Today, they charged me a dollar for the fish and rice and said they no longer offer them complimentary w their meals. Well, it's cafeteria style dining, so I can't complain. It's inside the legacy asian food court so if you don't mind the atmosphere, give this place a try! Ok, you can call me easy because I am not that hard to please, but I do love me some kimchi tofu soup with oysters medium spicy (it usually comes with beef, but I don't like it and ask for the substitution). This place is decent, but not worth $20 for lunch. I ordered Kalbi and it came with 4 sides and rice. They did give lots of meat, but I wanted more variety for sides. I think they did give more back when it was new. The kalbi tasted okay, but I think it could have used a stronger longer marinade. They did give me more kimchi when I asked. The owners of this place are really sweet. They always have a smile on their face and you just think "Oh, I'm ready to get a good feasting." Seeing how all the tofu soup regardless of what meat is used is for $7.99, you might think "Okay, average price but at least it's authentic Korean food." The soup didn't have the traditional egg in it which disappoints me 'cause that's what makes the soup taste so buttery and creamy. Another downside to the soup was that it was flavorless. Absolutely, completely flavorless. The side dishes were above par though. I really liked the tofu side dish and the kimchi itself. Tasted like it was made fresh but that might've just been because the kimchi was made on the day of to have that great crunch to it. Kimchi pancake was delightful too. No seriously I did move to another business because from my last previous experience I had at Tofu house at harryhines I was disgusted and appalled when the owner, same lady refused to comp my dinner in which I came across about 6 nats in my soup which I think was lenient enough to go and ask the employees that this was not acceptable. Upon entering the Asia Market food court, just turn to your right and there it is. You get somewhat of a bento box for your order of Beef Bulgogi with rice, fish, kimchi, and japchae but separate from your bento box comes with six other little banchans and this will only cost you $8.99. I ordered the Dolsot Bibimbap and it did not disappoint at all. It was plenty for me. I don't mind self-serve. I don't mind picking up my own food and hauling it to the table. My parents introduced us to this place 5 or 6 years ago. I can't believe I haven't reviewed them.... I guess I just wanted to keep this little food court gem to myself! First, I will start by saying they treat us like family when we come in. Which is such an amazing and refreshing feeling. Like I said we have been going there for years so they have seen my kids grow up and if it isn't busy they come give us a hug. We love love love the seafood tofu soup. It is so flavorful and has lots of seafood. They serve so much food for what you pay, we usually get the C5 (i believe) it comes with soup, korean ribs, rice and lots of yummy side dishes. We used to get the bibimbap, which was very good but we are converts, we love the soup. The bulgogi is also another favorite of ours if we go with a big group we get an order of that too, the meats are always seasoned to perfection. We love the kimchi so much we usually get a huge order of it to go. I just can't sing their praises enough, my 2 and 5 year old LOVE when we go get korean!! Rarely is there a time when there is any food left on our plates. My only complaint is that they don't ever have their apple side anymore : / It was so good but everything they make is great! read more

As many have previously noted, Tofu House is inside a food court and a divy one at that. That is a shame because the food is good, filling ,and deserving of a wider audience. If Tofu House was in a better location or on a food truck, people would follow them on Twitter but this is a mom and pop establishment that does not do social media much less a website. I ordered a combo platter of beef tofu soup and Korean short rib BBQ for $16.77. The accompanying Ban Chan variety is smaller than what you would get at other Korean places but what they lacked in number, I found the taste good. How many places offer soy marinated hard boiled eggs in their Ban Chan? The short ribs were outstanding, very flavorful and tender, not over cooked. I found the beef in the beef tofu soup a little tough and chewy but the broth was indeed very spicy and very authentic, as real as I remember eating it at friends' moms. I ordered it very spicy and the heat builds up with every slurp. I started sweating. As good as the soup tastes now, it will taste even better when winter comes and this steaming, hot, spicy broth is the perfect order. read more
