I ordered delivery from this restaurant. I tried the Lunch Sashimi ($19.50 on GrubHub) and Unagi Nigiri ($8.50 on GrubHub). I discovered my new favorite sashimi piece - Escolar in their lunch set. So buttery and rich! The remaining fish arrived in generous pieces and was fresh - 12 pieces at this price is an excellent value! The delivery person was prompt and courteous - I believe he was directly employed by the restaurant, not by GrubHub. We were greeted so warmly by everyone working there and our server took the time to help my mother understand the various choices since she has a very strict diet and the recommendations were FANTASTIC! This place apparently does not do all you can eat anymore - at least not at 3 pm. on a Monday. We also arrived too late for the lunch specials. Upon entry, I noticed it smelled a little funky. I felt like our server was not in the best of moods. For the regular rolls, I did feel like portions were good. However, sushi was a little warm for my liking. I paid my bill and put everything in the packet with the signed check. Get half way to my car and a waitress comes out and says I stole the receipt. If I already signed the bill there was no reason to chase me down in in the parking lot. It was embarrassing that I had to sign a different receipt, which didn't show any of the charges. My friend has a serious allergy to pineapple and once we told the waitress she was amazing at making sure pineapple was not anywhere near her food. My fiancee and I are big sushi fans. We'll try a new sushi restaurant any time we have the opportunity. We were driving through the area and decided to stop in. It's in a strip mall, but it has a fairly large indoor seating area. Unfortunately, they don't offer all you can eat. They have a large variety of sushi to choose from. It's a little on the expensive side for the specialty rolls ($12-$15). I ordered a spicy tuna, sweet potato, California, and dragon roll. The sushi wasn't the greatest tasting. Nothing was spicy like it said, and overall, they were lacking in flavor. One of my rolls came with the largest/longest shrimp tails I've ever seen. The men's restroom light didn't work, and our waitress wasn't the friendliest. You do get a lot for what you order, but we didn't finish our plates. There were only a couple of people in the restaurant so it wasn't the most popular place. Overall, 3/5 stars. It wasn't the worst place I've been to. read more

First of all we made a to go order and the lady on the phone kept asking me is that all after everything I ordered I would say shrimp fried rice she would say is that all that's not how it's supposed to be supposed to be after I'm done talking I tell you that's all and repeat my order please. Very clean and nicely decorated restaurant has just enough tables to make it feel like an intimate dining setting. Staff is pleasant, quick and works hard. Strip mall sushi spots now populate virtually every urban area in the U.S. It's funny to think that 25 years ago, sushi restaurants were few and far between, and for most folks the notion of eating raw fish was completely absurd. 25 years later and they dot the landscape like fast food chains. Most people have their go-to spot for strip mall sushi, and Ichiban is probably that spot for a lot of people. They're not breaking any new ground here, but the service is good, the restaurant is clean and the sushi is delicious. I've only been there a few times for their all-you-can-eat lunch special, and at $21.95/pp the value is right there. They do offer an extensive menu that features a bigger variety of sushi, as well as Cantonese and Hibachi entrees. I would like to visit again in the evening and sample some of the other items offered on their menu. The all-you-can-eat lunch special features appetizers, pieces of nigiri, common rolls, and a selection of specialty rolls. All of the items I've had have been really good. While searching the internet, I came upon Ichiban. The reviews appeared to be positive. My first trip to Ichiban, I drove past the place. I walked in, and was pleasantly surprised, it's a very nice restaurant. The servers are always friendly, and service is top notch. Updating my review: I ordered dinner from here last Saturday via Grubhub, and the quality of the food seem to have went down significantly. The seaweed salad tasted a bit bitter for me, and it had a strange smell. I couldn't describe what that smell is, but it was also on my hibachi noodles. No, I'm not that crazy person that sniffs my food, but it was a very noticeable aroma as I was holding my plate and taking bites. The great things about the meal was that the miso soup was delicious, the steak was cooked to perfection, the shrimp was a good portion and tasty, the hibachi fried rice is good, and the fried gyozas had the perfect sauce. It wasn't bad overall, I'd probably skip the hibachi noodles that came with the meal and the seaweed salad next time, and I'd probably stick with the sushi rolls as those were good last time I ordered from here. read more

From the outside the place doesn't look like much but don't let that deter you. The inside is beautiful and spacious. The prices were standard. Five stars for the sushi! It was delicious and fresh. The Mai Tai was so good I had to have 2. Our waiter was nice and helpful. When we return we won't be getting the hibachi as it was just ok. If you are expecting a hibachi performance then this is not the place for you. They didn't have hibachi tables. I took away a star because the hostess sneezed in her hand and wiped her nose. Love this place! The experience i had here was incredibly amazing. My friend and i went to check it out today as we are both huge fans of sushi's. The thing is, even if it's not sushi, their menu has a wide varieties of foods like beef and chicken dishes. Everything is well cooked and they were also very fresh. Also, the staff's were friendly, patient and attentive which are aspects that we definitely loved as they communicated us through their menu's. I'd definitely recommend this place.
