Hibachi shrimp with fired rice and noodles
    Nazmul S.

I really wanted hibachi and my usual go to spot in Greensboro closes a bit early. I decided to make a trip to High Point! I love the fact that they have a drive through pick up, especially since it was quite cold! I ordered the hibachi shrimp and I like my shrimp well done. The vegetables that came with the dish was absolutely delicious and fresh, the shrimp was delicious too! I added noodles with the dish. I like the variety. The white sauce was good, I will remember to ask for more since it is lighter than other white sauces I have had. Overall this was a great experience, great value and good food.

This is sad for me to write as I grew up on Tokyo Express while living in Emerywood. This was a local hotspot my family and friends all went to but, since COVID-19, they have drastically changed. From cleanliness, customer service & quality of food. They as of recent have cut the food portion down by 1/2 for lunch but you still have to pay the same price they have always charged for the normal whole portion. I hate what this place has become just like many other places since COVID-19.... Food is bland, people are grumpy & don't you dare ask for a refund because, they will become very combative.

    Steak and chicken hibachi

Local hot spot for High Point. Haven't had it in a few years and there wasn't a long line like usual, so I decided to give it a try again. Ordered the shrimp hibachi and the steak & chicken hibachi. The shrimp didn't taste fresh. The texture was weird. Same as the last time I had it. I would avoid it. The steak and chicken plate was pretty good. Steak was cooked perfectly. People usually drown the food with white sauce which means the rice, meat, and veggies doesn't have much flavor. I do the same. Order some red sauce for a little kick. It makes the experience so much better.

My brother told my mom about this place and it was only right she introduced me! I'm so glad that she did. Was visiting from Cali and wanted some real good hibachi. Steak and Shrimp combo with rice, mixed veggies and ginger sauce drizzled over .. the BOMB! I can't wait to return. It's a small mom and pops feel which makes it all the better. Very reasonable priced around $8.75 a plate.

Impossible to sit at for an average sized adult. If they didn't have tables available, I would've had to get it to go.

Tokyo express on Westchester Drive; has the tiniest booths of any restaurant I've ever walked into. They are not adjustable and are designed for skinny teenagers with a size 28 waist. If you're an adult, you're out of luck. I had the scallops and chicken, which was pretty good except for the fact that they were out of their homemade duck sauce. They have a spiced apple sauce also; but that was inappropriate for what I was eating. I won't be back.

I'll start off by saying I appreciate how clean this place is. I walked in on a Sunday evening at almost 8pm and the place was spotless. Food was fresh, service was cheerful. My food was well packaged. By far the best egg roll I've ever had. The fried rice could've used more flavor, but nothing a little soy sauce couldn't fix. Enough veggies to say they were in there. I added a couple of eggs and some soy sauce when I got home and tried it to make it taste like something. Again, no chicken in the chicken fried rice. I ordered beef and broccoli and asked if I could pay for extra beef (and was told yes and I DID pay for it.) Things I don't understand: how come it was in the same sized box as a regular order if you added extra beef? How come the extra beef was chicken (?!?!)? The beef was almost soggy the chicken ("extra beef") wasn't beef. Not sure I'm going to go back but thought I would at least tip off other people to check your orders before you leave the building.

Best we've had yet in the Triad area by a long shot. First off, the online ordering process is super easy, and the estimated time for pick up was spot on. Highly recommend ordering online beforehand. The place was slammed, packed in like sardines on a Saturday evening. Everyone waiting for orders, and even if you don't order prior, the wait would still be worth it. This place was a well oiled machine, everyone knowing exactly what to do and how to pump out stellar authentic Chinese food quickly and efficiently. Flavorful dishes, authentic spices and sauces, juicy meat, perfectly cooked noodles and rice...you name it, this place does it right. Crispy scallion chicken is the bomb! Each and every other dish we had was top notch, including the pork egg foo young, chicken lo mein, house special fried rice (chicken pork and shrimp). And can't leave out the perfectly fried pork egg rolls...taste overload. Can't wait to come back and try more of this amazing and truly authentic Chinese joint.

Not sure how old the interior photos are on their Yelp reviews but looks better in person. Dude running the place was waiting on tables, answering the phones, taking orders at the front, bossing people around in the back and bringing the food out of the kitchen and serving it HOT! He was a one man show today and killing it! Plus he was so nice. About the food. I ordered an Eggroll and Curry Chicken with fried rice. The eggroll was not the best I've had but it was good. It tasted fresh and no signs of the red pork that you sometimes get (thumbs up).The Curry Chicken sauce was really good. The chicken was nice and tender, the vegetables were fresh and crisp. My only complaint would be to not serve green peppers with the yellow curry sauce. It's my own personal preference because peppers give me heartburn. I will go back for sure to try some other dishes and I would definitely recommend to anyone looking for relaxing ambiance and fresh, delicious Chinese cuisine.

We didn't order them this time, but they're definitely on the list for a future visit. Everything we did get was packed with flavor. The crab rangoons and pork dumplings arrived hot and fresh, and the Dan Dan noodles, orange chicken, chicken chow fun, and garlic beef were all very tasty. One of the biggest positives here is consistency of flavor, something that's been surprisingly hard to find with a lot of Chinese takeout spots we've tried in the area. The only real miss for us is that egg foo young isn't on the menu, which my wife loves and always hopes to find. That aside, this is a super solid takeout option for flavorful, authentic, and fresh Chinese food.

The crab rangoon was disappointing. the filling was a doughy consistency, the texture was chewy, and the cream cheese flavor wasn't there. The cashew chicken has a variety of vegetables, however, the flavor wasn't there for me. The fortune cookie I ate seemed stale (soft/chewy). From working here, I know that many of the items on the menu are made fresh in a house (eggrolls, chicken teriyaki appetizers, sauces, etc.) and you can tell from the fresh quality. Like many restaurants at the start of the Covid-19 pandemic, China City closed their storefront and transitioned to a strictly takeout or delivery model.
