As an Asian guy, I know my Asian food. I only came here because my girlfriend can't get much gluten-free Asian food and this was her joint back in the day. Made my own bowl with a big order of dark meat chicken, udon noodles, teriyaki sauce, and veggies. Umm...yeah, it's definitely very Americanized Asian food at best. The only good thing I can say is that the ingredients were very fresh. Aside from that, I was fairly meh about my food. Would've expected a properly cooked udon noodle bowl to NOT be soggy with the sauce, yet that's how my bowl came out. Meh indeed. Service was fine, no problem here. I get that Denver might not get much real Asian food, so I get why this place exist. I'll stick with my authentic Asian food, thank you very much.

Build Your Own Dark Chicken. Wasn't bad until I bit down on a chicken bone. Not coming here again.

Chicken bone in bowl. Kitchen staff can't let that happen. Counter service was great.

My girlfriend and I stopped in for lunch today. I like Tokyo Joe's as they have proven to be very LGBT friendly. The fact I am holding hands with another woman isn't even noticed. I ordered a small salmon bowl with veggies, half noodles and half rice. I went with the teriyaki. Billy took my order and found him to efficient, he wasn't especially friendly. No smile, no welcome comment. Took my order, took the payment, gave me a number, moved me on. Effective but impersonal. The food came to us very efficiently and was delivered by the perkiest and most outgoing girl I have come across in weeks. Her name was Serenity. She was a true jewel of an employee. Our food was warm, fresh, well presented and very tasty. My girlfriend and I both enjoyed our meal immensely.

The salmon poke bowl and 4- piece spicy tuna roll were delicious. Also, the staff members were friendly.

Chicken, chewy and mushy and not normal meat texture AT ALL. If they're "velveting" it, it's excessive and gross. Chicken Fried rice was okay. But so bland and mushy and wet. Also had the weird chicken in it. Peanut curry lunch. Tasted just like like peanut sauce covering everything. They forgot my egg roll so can't speak on those. The curry had a lot of the mushy chicken and almost no veggies. One broccoli, 3 large chunks of mostly raw red pepper. No peanuts. A few snow peas. Pad Thai. Not good. Weirdest and close to worst pad Thai I've ever had. It had a grainy texture to the sauce and was really thick and really bland but sweet all at once. Just a container of red mush noodles and red mush chicken. Why? I really can't understand what is happening. Is this like premade canned or frozen and super cheap so they're selling it? Pad Thai at better Thai restaurants isn't super hard to make and is much nicer. I am just super confused by it. It really reminded me of Thai cup of noodle microwave ramen-like food I've tried at Asian grocery stores. The gyoza were okay. A little harder and drier than we would have preferred and not crispy by their arrival. I could never order here again because we tried such a broad array and its quality was just horrible over all. Even the rice was mushy and very clearly not high quality jasmine rice. Nothing seemed Thai-like at all. Nothing was fresh, light, savory, or vibrant, all things I associate with food thai food. I'm sure with a few pivotal changes they could perk up the menu.

We had already finished everything by the time it came out. It was very bland. Our server forgot 2 separate items we asked for, even after we asked again. They have some happy hour specials, which is nice, but they weren't very interesting. I ordered a nice 300ml bottle of sake, which should come chilled, and it was decidedly room temperature. The server did bring out an ice bucket to put it in, but it was way too late to chill the bottle. I scoured the menu for specialty rolls that didn't come with loads of gloopy sauces on top and didn't find any. I really despise Americanized sushi rolls that are covered in sauce, but I ordered 2 of the more appetizing-looking ones along with the new style sashimi and salmon sashimi. The new style sashimi was described as coming with cilantro (which is how it usually comes) but there was no cilantro in sight and instead they were covered in copious amounts of jalapeños. The cuts were also pretty butchered, particularly given the cost. The rolls were palatable, but entirely too big for my mouth, which just makes eating a bit like choking. I did receive a small complimentary dessert, which was decently tasty. The server was very friendly, but he sort of forgot about me in the end. With all these things in consideration, I probably won't be back. given the location, I would choose Makizushico for dinner over JP Nori every time.

After a quick search for Indian restaurants in Denver, we came across Sukoon--and we are so glad we did. When we arrived, the restaurant was quiet with only a few tables occupied, which made us a bit uncertain at first. However, we were warmly greeted and seated by a gentleman who, I believe, was the owner. His hospitality set a welcoming tone for the evening. We decided to try a variety of appetizers, including samosas, papadi chaat, stuffed mushrooms, gobi Manchurian, and dal soup, as well as shrimp tandoori for our entrée. Every dish was exceptionally well-prepared--beautifully seasoned, flavorful, and thoughtfully presented. Each bite was truly delightful. As we enjoyed our meal, we couldn't help but wonder why the restaurant wasn't busier. Sukoon is one of those rare finds you want to see thrive: outstanding food, attentive service, and a warm, inviting atmosphere. When we finished, the owner stopped by to ask if it was our first visit. We told him it was--but certainly not our last. As I was pondering to see if I should go to more of a sit-down restaurant, Asuka's quick poke bowl sounded like a much better choice so I rushed the one on Broadway between the gym and yoga. I stepped in to be greeted by the lady in charge of the kitchen and the register. She was still finishing up the guest ahead of me but once she was done she came to take my order. I went with the Build-Your-Own bowl. The lady was efficient in asking me which ingredients I would want for my nutrient-rich bowl. She was wasting no time and effort and yet she wasn't rushing to get rid of me either (LOL!!) She sounded like she is/was used to handling a long line of people but never forgets/forgot the routine of good service. Once my bowl was perfectly crafted, she had a quick and yet genuine thank you to say. She then moved on to the next person in line. By then there were several people in line. Once I had paid I took the time to look at the interior decorations. And they are quite cute! The umbrella decors on the ceiling are one of them to mention. The dining area is not big and yet it can hold a good number of guests. Quite tidy and clean indeed. Between the location down the street from my house on Yosemite and this one, this location is quite more lively. The Yosemite location seemed a bit smaller than this one. Let's talk the quality of the bowl! Very fresh! From the crunchy cucumber pieces that snapped as I ate it to protein (salmon and tofu) to al the fixings that topped the bowl, everything tasted surprisingly and refreshingly delicious. I wouldn't necessarily say that it tasted exactly like the authentic poke bowls I experienced in Hawaii only a few months ago, Asuka is a solid (chain) place I can go and grab a bowl with no compromise. I have come to appreciate this place very much.

From the second I walked in, service was impeccable, welcoming, and helpful. Staff went above and beyond to walk me to the restroom (as it was my first time dining here), out to my patio table, and quickly brought water. Everyone was dressed up for the occasion, chandeliers were lining the interior with a gorgeous and sophisticated look, and the music was a fun K-Pop/dance vibe. Our table of three started with the Buddha Button (essentially a lemon drop martini with Deep Eddy's and a special flower that invigorates your taste buds to create a literal "party in your mouth"). Anything cold adds to the buzzing, vibrating energy; pair the flower with a cold cocktail and it's a phenomenal experience! We also had a bottle of white wine - it was to be expected: tasty. We tried the crab rangoons and thought they were a fun snack, although $21 for four rangoons was tough. I could've gone to Panda Express and gotten four for $3.99 and called it a day. Christine and I both had the Miso Sea Bass - easily the crowd favorite. Even though it was light, it was very flavorful with the sauce, mushrooms, and rice included in the meal. It was mostly filling, though charging $64 for that as the main entree is quite a big stretch. The crowd winner was our server, Maddie. She had amazing recommendations, a full understanding of the menu, and was very attentive and personable. Overall, fun experience! The price for the quantity of food makes it a dubious chance of returning, but A+ for the staff!

Let's start with the jianbing. It's built on a scallion pancake base, which is a bit thicker than the more traditional version I'm used to, but honestly, I'm not mad about it. It's sturdy, flavorful, and generously loaded with steak. This is not a dainty, whisper-thin breakfast crepe. This is a confident, well-fed jianbing that wants you to be happy and full. The pork belly deserves its own moment. Actually, maybe a standing ovation. It's incredibly tender, deeply flavorful, and clearly treated with care. I had it in the spicy noodles and again in a bao bun, and both times it was excellent. Rich without being heavy, indulgent without tipping into too much. Pork belly doing exactly what pork belly is supposed to do. Now let's talk about the mala wings. These wings are spectacular. Like, "what every chicken wing dreams of becoming when it grows up" spectacular. Crispy, bold, numbing in all the right ways, and dangerously addictive. If you order one thing here, make it these. If you don't order these, I gently question your life choices. I also really appreciate MAKfam's unapologetic embrace of MSG. No fear, no fuss, just smart, thoughtful use of an ingredient that exists to make food delicious. And guess what? It works. Everything is savory, balanced, and satisfying without feeling overdone. Bottom line: this is a genuinely fun place to eat. The food has personality, confidence, and heart.
