I have ordered multiple times from this restaurant because they are closest to our house. We have found hair in our food, missing portions of meals (repeatedly). This is the sixth order and I had a bunch of bones in my salmon, and I keep thinking "surely Tokyo Joe's can't have tanked this bad." Wow! Ok I've seen this spot everyday and I've wanted to stop in and try it out! What can I say!! I love it! I ordered the tuna poke bowl and since I'm keto I chose the greens instead of rice. Soo pleasantly surprised. Freshness throughout every bite! The spicy aioli pulled it all together and I chose to layer it with extra ginger. My tastebuds we dancing and singing! Tokyo Joe's is one of those places I go if I want a particular dish - brown rice, white chicken, broccoli and spicyaki sauce. I have tried a ton of other stuff and that is all I really like there, but when I am in the mood for it I love to pop in and get a big ole bowl! This location is off Quebec and University (where it turns into Lincoln). The parking lot is kinda small and awkward. It is one of those shops that they built and then kept building over the years and never really expanded the lots to accommodate the new stores. After waiting fifteen minutes, I realized that one, my food was sitting on the counter this whole time, and two, that they had no intentions of bringing me my food. I went inside to get my food. My daughter got a kids meal, super great filling but not too filling. My meal was pretty good. As I write this,it has been over 40 minutes (with no end in sight) waiting for my meal...I could have went to a sit down restaurant and been eating by now. On top of everything else, they told my wife and daughter that if they ordered sushi or a poke bowl it would take 20-25 minutes, so they didn't order it. I went to Tokyo Joe's for lunch today fully expecting a fast-food Japanese experience. The food had roots in various asian countries but was very much altered from Japan cuisine. Most notably the rice was completely wrong: The rice fell apart, was a weird, off white color, and had a texture and a taste of something inedible. We have had many disappointing encounters where they were out of certain things, gave us uncooked rice in poke bowls, got the orders completely wrong, etc. the employees there gave excuses and would not make new food or really care about these issues...very poor customer service. We then followed the instructions on the receipt to make a comment or concern and sent the district manager an email with our issues; that was several weeks ago and still have not received a response.
