While it's true they don't have as many options, the rolls they do offer are tall, stuffed full with very fresh fish, and not overly rice heavy. The build your own poke is also one of my go-to choices and their ramen bowls will give you delicious leftovers for days! Basically it'd hard to go wrong here. Other random side notes are that they're closed Monday (which i forget alot) & their miso soup is made with a more savory (bone?) broth that I'm used too- not a bad thing, it just surprised me. I eat a lot of ramen, I love it. Tokyo Ramen's Tokyo Ramen dish is probably the best I've had in over 10 years since moving around the country. It's like a hug in a bowl; all the ingredients complement each other and the broth is just so good on its own, I could drink it alone. I'm a fan of a little spice so I asked for 1/2 the normal amount used to spice things up... but honestly the broth is just SOOO good on its own; it needs nothing. The location is small but was able to seat 8 people putting tables together. Staff initially advised they were not able to split checks more than three ways to which upset us but they made it right by making it work. This is a sweet little spot in Jacksonville. We walked in and there was only one other person in the restaurant. Within 10 minutes they were packed! I feel like it is intimate, but not frilly or fancy. We were in a group of six. To start..My husbandhad bao and I had a squid salad. Normally, I would take a bite of whatever he had but before I could, he had devoured it! He absolutely loved it. I quite enjoyed my squid salad as well. It was standard. We each had a different type of Ramen. Mine had pork in it and his had chicken. His had a really great spice level and I wish I would've gotten mine a little bit spicy as well. Solid Ramen. I love the tonkatsu broth! It has that good creamy and smooth taste. The chashu is delicious and has a good charred pork taste that I love about chashu. The poke is good too. Tokyo Ramen & Poke is absolutely amazing! This local restaurant is in Neptune Beach, in the same plaza as Publix. The place is small but charming, with a Tokyo ramen restaurant kind-of-vibe. They have a nice selection of ramen, sushi and poke, with the option to build your own poke bowl. For my first time I decided to start with their spicy tuna roll and Shoyu Ramen with a side of spicy oil. My husband ordered their pork buns and Hawaiian Poke bowl, and for my kid I asked for the chicken tonkatsu. The sushi was perfection and exactly what I wanted to satisfy my sushi craving. However, the broth in the ramen was the main winner of the evening! It was so tasty and with the side of spicy oil, it was a 10/10. My only note was that the noodles weren't cooked all the way, but frankly I was enjoying the broth too much to care. Also, the pork they added to the ramen was the same as the buns, and it is stellar! The pieces are thick and also very flavorful. My husband also enjoyed both of his items and said everything was excellent (he cleaned the plate so I believe him). Last but not least, the staff was very kind and accommodating. My husband , daughter and a somewhat picky 7 year old had lunch here on a Tuesday. We cut into 4's an order of Pork Buns. After one bite the 7 year old proclaimed it his and continued to devour over half of the order. We all agreed the Pork Buns were outstanding! The Seaweed Salad was the best we've had and we're surprised by the crunchy cucumber sticks layered at the bottom, which brought out all the delicious flavors. We also ordered two Tokyo Ramen's. We did not loom up from our big bowls but we made a lot of moaning/yum noise while eating it. It was perfection! My daughter had the Dynamite roll and would not share with us but it was gone in less than 5 minutes. I came with my six-year-old daughter for lunch. I had the spicy Tokyo ramen and she had the non-spicy Seafood ramen. She was delighted to see they had Ramune sodas too! The server was so kind and brought my daughter modified kids chopsticks, as well as a takeaway container for the rest of her meal when she was full. Wowza. This place is yumminess x 2! My youngest and I were in this area and starving. I pulled up my trusty Yelp app and we both decided that this looked like a great place to try and new to both of us. Very small inside but several tables available for dining. We were seated quickly and offered menus and drinks. We decided to try the pork buns and we each ordered a Ramen. I went with the Shoyu Ramen which has pork and my daughter chose the Tokyo Ramen, which has a mixed meat selection. The pork buns are a serving of two. The aroma was making our stomachs growl even before he sat them on the table! The outside bun was so soft and delicious, and the pork and sauce inside was so tasty. We both were very happy with our appetizer selection. I think I would have been happy eating a dozen more (well maybe not a dozen, but they were very yummy!) The Ramen came out shortly thereafter and again the aroma was amazing. We both had asked for the "hot" sauce to be served on the side so we could adjust to our liking. I added just a small amount and it was plenty for me! Bean sprouts, tender pork, corn, egg, in a broth that was so flavorful and filled with flavor. My daughter shared a shrimp with me from her bowl and it was tender and cooked perfectly. We both agreed that the addition of the hot sauce added just a kick to it that was perfect. I really liked my broth the best of the two, but both were very good. Staff was on top of the tables. Our drinks never were less than half gone when they came to refill our drinks. You can watch them make the fresh sushi and poke bowls while you eat as well as they have the clear glass in front of the prep area. The meats and veggies looked so very fresh. They also do a brisk take-out business as several people came in for their to-go items while we ate. I can see why! I had plenty leftover for an entire meal the next day, and it was just as good. I wish I lived closer as I would be visiting this spot a lot! I will find reasons to head to that side of town though as it was so good and I want to try so many things they offer. read more
