The facility was built with dogs in mind...before it was A Walk In The Park, the building was the home of the Toledo Area Humane Society. The building is more than large enough, and the yard is even bigger. The staff is awesome...just plain awesome. You can tell that every single person working here really loves dogs, and the dogs, at least my dog, seems to love all of them. We recently left our puppy here when we weren't able to take him with us on vacation. My wife, who still does Facebook (LOL), logged in daily to see videos and pix of the pack including our boy, so she and the kids (and me too, I guess) felt connected. When we got home and went to pick him up, he was happy to see all four of us, but he didn't want to leave...I guess dogs really are pack animals. We also utilize doggie daycare a couple time per week. As far as pet safety goes, and I might not have this exactly right, but I think the dogs are grouped by age and size. That is, the large breed puppies are kept together, and the small breed puppies are keep together. The large breed adults are kept together...etc. In other words, you don't have to worry about your chihuahua pup getting eaten by a Doberman. Great business, and great location. Five stars.

I do NOT recommend this place! I brought my 15 year old Maltese here without looking at the reviews…read morebecause she was struggling to breathe and it was the closest to me. She stayed the night so she could be monitored in the oxygen tank/enclosure. I got a phone call at 7:15 asking where I was. I was getting myself ready to head there, had no clue I was to be there by 7:00 or else be charged a $100 late fee. I explained had I known I would have been there before 7:00am as I was up way before then worrying about her. They stated it was in the papers I signed and was sent home with. What papers I asked them when I arrived, as I was not sent home with any. I told them they could look at their cameras to see they did not send me home with anything. Their response was, "I signed the papers" .. Yes, I signed 2 different things on an electronic pad and all I heard I was signing was so they could treat her. When you bring in a pet whom you are praying it is not time to put them to sleep, it might be a good idea to actually say what one is signing. But I accept the fact I signed without reading and the extra $100.00 charge. My actual problem is when I left with her, I was to get her into her veterinarian asap and they were emailing her x-ray and paperwork results to them. I was on the phone with her vet right when they opened, but was directed to take her to the VEG in Ann Arbor to be able to continue her on oxygen. We were there by 10:00am and waited until 3:00pm until I had to make the decision to REDO x-rays because they never sent her information onto her vet. Her vet even contacted her previous vet and others in the Sylvania area. This place got my voicemails and sent her results almost 12 hours after the fact. Needless to say I called them extremely unhappy and the front desk stated the manager was not there but they would pass my concern along. Weeks later I followed up even more unhappy to then have the manager tell me there was nothing she could do and to take it up with her vet because they did their job and that her vet most likely did not check their spam. I let her know it is actually the first thing her vet did, along with her previous vet. She again tells me their front desk did their job and sent the results over first thing. I told her I would wait while she pulled up the time stamp, because I already had them. She came back telling me their system was down, so I provided the exact time they got to sending her information, explained again had they done what they were supposed to, I would not have had to pay for a 2nd one to be done. She tells me she on PTO and doesn't have time to deal with me and hangs up. I am sure I will end up having to pay the $400+ for the wasted X-ray .. But not sure which is worse, that or the managers lack of professionalism.
