I would never take my dogs here again. We took our dogs here a few times. Each time they lost items. One time they lost their collars and leashes. So their licenses and rabies tags were gone. I've never boarded my dog here but I have went to Katrina to get him groomed. I love how she is so attentive to the animals and you can see how much she loves what she does. This is the only place I'll take my beloved doggie to get groomed, she does a full groom for $38 which isn't bad and she'll even squeeze you in for same day appointments if they're available. Boarded my dog here for the first time, and overall, they took good care of her, but I'm unsure if we'll be back due to some heavy miscommunication. Overall, there are some of the most kind, warm-hearted caring people alongside some deeply inconsiderate outright rude people that work there. When I called to inquire about boarding, I was told they provide a bed, not to bring toys, but leaving a bone with her for the weekend would be fine. When I dropped her off, I showed them a blanket and a couple of bones and asked if any of it would be appropriate to let her have for the weekend. They said they would see if any of it bothered the other dogs and give her what they could. My friend came to pick her up, and he was told they had none of her things, not even her collar and leash. He had to drive her home loose in the back seat of his car and try to get her in my house with nothing, which was extremely unsafe. Of course, if I had been told their policy was not to keep anything, I would have made sure to take everything back with me and make sure he was properly prepared to pick her up. I called the next day to see if they had anything, and the woman was EXTREMELY kind and said they had everything there right at the front desk and wasn't sure why they didn't give any of it back. They were missing a bone, but they said if it showed up, they would call. I said not to worry, but sure enough, they called to say it had turned up, and I could come get it. I went to pick it up, and the facility manager was horribly rude, aggressive, and had zero interest in helping me. She said they didn't have the bone because their policy is that they don't keep anything for any reason. Since no one left a note for her, apparently I was lying. No one would have called me to come get the bone because they wouldn't keep it. She said she has 100 dogs to keep track of and doesn't have the time to keep track of anything left behind, and I should be grateful I even got back her collar and leash because I should have known to wait around for it and take it with me when I dropped her off. 15 minutes after I left, I got a call from another extremely kind woman apologizing because they had the bone right at the front desk, and they put $25 credit on my account for the inconvenience! She was super apologetic and sweet, and I could tell she cared very much about both my pup and I having a good experience with them. All in all, my dog came back healthy and happy, so I would consider giving the place another chance. Still, the whole experience was much more dramatic than necessary and gave me whiplash between some staff being over-accommodating and others who were downright mean. If they improved their communication, I could have known what to expect and saved myself all the extra trips (and a scolding) for not properly following the policies as a new client. read more

Katrina and her staff are AWESOME !!! We were visiting my mom and our Boys needed some serious grooming. We have 2 Malti-Poos who can be a handful, with one of the brothers who can be nippy/snappy unless made to feel at ease. We always hold our breath because we have been to groomers (travel alot) that do not always handle them well. Toledo Pet Farm know what they are doing, from the start with check-in, they took the time to get the pups to relax and checked thier shot records and handled it from there. Loved the end result, our Boys looked the best they ever had, we usually have to wait for the fur to grow out a little so they look okay- not this time !!! The pet farm had multiple fax issues and could not receive my dogs vet records. Eventually my vet was nice enough to call and give all the info over the phone. I picked my 2dogs up after 2 nights. I noticed irritation and inspected their paws to find multiple blisters and burns on the pads and in the creases of all 4 paws. I immediately went to the vet. She told me both my dogs had severe burns either from being left outside on hot gravel too long or chemical burns from kennels not being properly rinsed. My dogs are now on pain medication and i have to apply ointment. After calling the owner she offered 1 free vet visit. Too bad i had already taken my dogs to the vet and paid 200$. She offered no other compensation. NEVER AGAIN! read more

I hardly ever board my dogs but we had an emergency so I researched and oufn Toledo Pet Farm. I also had 2 dogs I wanted to stay together and was clearly told it would $22 per dog per night. The check in guy was so nice and calm, nothing was rushed like at other places I've been. I also had discovered 1 dog's bordatella shot was overdue and they said no problem, it could be done on intake at the vets. They have a pool area and asked if I wanted the dogs to swin (I didn't but thought it was cute). I also opted for no play time, so not sure how that works. They told me they only keep little dogs with little dogs, but 1 of mine is leery of new dogs, which is why I didn't want to take any chances. I had a great experience here and will definitely use them agian in the future if need be. read more

Their website shows great pictures, however, the true experience of the place when you visit in person is different. I visited the Toledo Pet Farm on Saturday afternoon to board 3 dogs (one small dog and two medium-sized dogs). Our family was going to an event that we thought would last all afternoon and evening. We live about 17 miles away from the Pet Farm. I made sure the dogs did their business before we left. It was around 1p when the dogs had their last drink of water. And they ate earlier in the morning. When I opened the door to the building, I was welcomed with a strong smell of urine. Walking around just the front lobby area, I noticed the lobby was in disarray. The front desk counter was littered with paper and other odds and ends. There were buckets of paint and other construction gear stuffed in front of doors. It concerned me because A) the supplies were haphazardly stuffed on the floor and B) it was more than just one area. I wasn't sure if I was leaving my dogs in great hands. My thought was: If they don't have time to put their supplies away properly or at least in some nice organized fashion...do they have the organizational skills to care for my pets? I also noticed paper signs taped to the entrance doors discouraging you from bringing in or leaving any personal items. Other doors inside the establishment read: Employees Only...so I felt I wasn't allowed to tour the facility to see exactly what I was leaving my dogs in. Nonetheless, when I called, the gal I spoke with reassured me that all 3 of my dogs would be boarded together. All I need to bring in was their food and current vaccinations records. I asked if anyone will be checking on the dogs throughout the night or if the dogs are left alone for the night and checked on the next day. She assured me that someone will be staying with all the animals throughout the night. The cost for boarding all 3 would be $75 for one night. Upon check-in, my husband handled the paperwork as I walked around the lobby with the dogs. The staff I noticed were young teenagers. Nothing wrong with teens but are they "certified" or "in training"? And my thoughts were racing, "Am I leaving my dogs with knowledgeable kids? Are they going to take care of my pets properly?" I finally convinced myself that this is how this type of business runs and they have a 4 out of 5 star rating on Google. Still I had this nagging feeling, "how can they be rated so high and be so disorganized?" Our event was shorter than expected so we didn't have to board the dogs. We zoomed to the Pet Farm to retrieve them. When we arrived, I stood by the window overseeing the back. I watched as one person walked in the back to one area to retrieve our small dog and then to another area to retrieve the other two medium-sized dogs. (Ummm, I thought all three dogs were going to be boarding together.) I dismissed it because I just wanted my dogs out of there. As we were walking out, the gal at the front desk said they just fed the dogs. I thanked them. When we got home, around 630p, the dogs raced for their water bowl and lapped up water for a good five minutes. And then they darted for their food bowl and ate everything in their food bowl (about a cups worth and each dog has their own bowl). I'm glad I didn't board them for the night. I don't think the area the dogs are in has AC...but I don't know. I'm not sure if the dogs were given water at all during their 3 to 4-hour stay at the Pet Farm. I'm giving one star because I have to do that in order to post this review. I'm not going back to Toledo Pet Farm. I was not impressed with the place after experiencing it in person vs. the pictures on its website. It's difficult to substantiate whether or not my dogs were given water or food. I'm going off their word. Which doesn't sit well with me because I was assured all three of my dogs would be boarded together and they were not. My husband said that when he was filling out paperwork, he was told only two dogs can be boarded together at a time. read more

I had never boarded my dog before (had always either taken him with me or he stayed with my ex's relatives). I searched around on the web and came across Toledo Pet Farm. It looked like a new, large facility and had just opened this year, so I thought I would give them the business, rather than take them to Karnik (which I've heard bad things about as well). I called for pricing, as the websitr instructs, and asked how much for 2 dogs to share a suite (they are used to each other's company, and since I thought they'd be running around in the outside areas with other dogs, it seemed silly to separate them for sleeping). The lady on the phone said it would be $22/night. I made a reservation for them, gave them all vet info, instructed them that we would like both dogs bathed and nails trimmed while there. They seemed very nice and accomodating. My dog has a corn allergy, so I packed up both dogs' food into pre-measured baggies marked with their names, and Sat am feeding, Sat pm feeding, etc. I thought it was idiot-proof. They were each allowed to bring 2 toys and bedding, so I packed their favorite toys and a blanket for each of them, and 1 bed (I was told there would be a bed in each suite already, so I only brought one for 1 dog). I also packed a baggie of their cookies, and a baggie with rawhide rolls for each of them. I marked how often they could have them. Again, idiot-proof. Upon arrival, we were given intake forms for each dog, and I again marked that my dog had a corn allergy and that he was to be given his own food and treats, clearly marked and pre-measured, etc. I asked how often they would be outside, and the front desk lady said, "It's more like how often will they be in their suite? We rotate all the dogs into the play areas constantly, so they'll be playing with otger dogs yheir size all day." Great, I thought. When we took the dogs to settle in, first of all I noticed they had them upstairs. My girlfriend's dog is old (almost 12) and a big dog and it's hard for him to go up and down a lot of stairs due to his hips. We did say something to tge front desk lady about that and she made a note to go slow with him on the stairs. Why didn't they give them a suite on the second level? Also, the boy who took us to their suite saw that we had brought a dog bed and took the one that came with the suite out! I said, "No, I brought one so each dog would have a bed. Put it back in." He was not the sharpest tool in the shed. I instructed him about their food being labeled and how often they could have treats, and he just said okay and put their big bag of toys/food down and hung up their leashes and shut them up in their suite without giving them any of their toys or blankets. I thought again, maybe this is because they are going to be running around in the grass and someone will come up and put all their stuff in their suite while they are playing. We were only gone for the weekend, Friday thru Monday morning, and when the dogs were picked up only ONE of their food bags had been used, all the toys and blankets were in their bag just the way I had packed them, none of their cookies or rawhide rolls had been given, and they said the one dog had been throwing up. Well geez, maybe because you gave him your stock food and he has a food allergy! Also, if he was sick, why didn't you call us? Only one dog was groomed, as they said they were shortstaffed and ran out of time. I suppose this would have been okay if it weren't for everything else that was wrong. I don't think they had even been let out to potty yet when they were picked up, because one dog peed as soon as he got down the stairs and the other went as soon as he got outside. I feel like they were kept cramped up in a tiny 3x3 "suite" for 3 days and left. Oh, and we were charged $22/night PER DOG, not for both. Maybe I should have clarified when I booked it, but I wasn't expecting that. I am waiting for the owner to call me back to see how she wants to handle this, but I will NEVER take either of the dogs there again. I feel bad for leaving my babies with such neglectful people, and I feel bad for the dogs who go there every day for daycare. read more

I've read some of the negative reviews both on Yelp and on Yellowpages and I have to write my own now. We take our two dogs to Pet Farm probably every other week for daycare and board them one night a month on average. My dogs run to get to the door and greet the staff like old friends. This is great considering my dogs are very leery of strangers but their staff has made such a good impression on them and dogs don't really lie. On top of that, they know my dogs names when I come in with them unscheduled. Both of the dogs always come back home tired and ready for naps plus seeing all of the pictures on Facebook is awesome. I will say that a couple times we've boarded them, I've noticed one food bag of the four given was left. This bothered me a bit but has only happened on one occasion out of probably six times we've boarded them. The price is reasonable at $22/night/dog including day care. You don't find that around town often. We've also used their grooming services which I find to be very affordable and good. They don't come back with their haircut in strange manners or their nails too long. Sure it can smell from time to time but I always seem someone cleaning when I come in there. We'll continue to use Toledo Pet Farm and let me tell you, we are picky pet parents. read more

Our two dogs stayed at the Pet Farm again over Christmas while we were away. This time they stayed in the 5'x7' Top Dog Suite for $50/night for both. My dogs have been passed out since returning home, and no diarrhea for my lab this time because we packed their food. I was very impressed with the way the Pet Farm handled an unwanted situation. Yesterday we received a call from them that our Juneau had been bitten by another dog. They said he had a puncture wound and asked if we wanted us to take him to our vet, since their vet was off. The Pet Farm staff didn't think that the injury was severe, but wanted to make sure we knew. We felt more comfortable with Juneau being checked out by our regular vet (Dr. Bart at the Heatherdowns Vet Clinic) and asked the Pet Farm to take him there. We were updated by Heatherdowns Vet about his injury (which wasn't that bad), and Juneau returned to the Pet Farm. When we picked up Juneau and our other dog today, we were presented with an antibiotic our vet prescribed as well as the diagnosis sheet. We also met with the Pet Care Associate who pulled the other dog off of Juneau and she sustained an injury that required stitches while trying to protect Juneau. While of course I would prefer my dog not to get into a dog fight, I feel that the situation was handled in the best possible way. read more

This place is terrible. We took our dog there for 6 days while we were out of town. The staff told us that our dog would play from breakfast until dinner and then put in a kennel only at night. As mentioned 2 other times that I saw, the building smells horrid! The front desk is messy and has layers of dust. The building both inside and outside is extremely run down and lacking basic upkeep. I had hopes that the looks of the place didn't match up to the care our dog would receive, but it seems I was wrong. I should have known it was a decision I would regret as soon as we dropped her off...We walked in with our dog and as we checked in, a staff member took our dog without letting us say bye or anything! We were already upset to have to leave her so having her taken away so carelessly did not sit right with me. A pet business should be able to relate to the love that owners have for their pets. We will NEVER again be bringing our animals to Toledo Pet Farm. We picked up our beloved dog only to find her with a bleeding tip of her tail and what looked like bug bites all over her. Her urine was dark as if she wasn't given adequate amounts of water. She was scheduled to have a bath prior to pick up but she still smelled and we had to give her another one when she was brought home. Her tail bleeding was from wagging her tail and hitting it on the kennel. She would not have done this had she been playing all day OUTSIDE of the kennel like we were previously told. The staff would not let me look at the play areas or kennel area when I asked so I couldn't tell you what the conditions are but it seems quite suspicious that they don't allow you through the doors to the rest of the building. Our dog had a residue left on her fur and she smelled so terrible. She also had an open blister on the bottom of one of her paws. I hate to think of the conditions she was left in while we were away! It baffles me that a business is still standing there when it's ran so poorly. Staff was either so-so or straight up rude. No one ever smiled and any questions we ever had were answered with short, emotionally-lacking responses. read more

I knew someone that worked at Toledo Pet Farm. They told me the place was always terribly unkept with dog feces everywhere. They said the dogs would poop and pee in their cages and the dogs would be left in the cages with no one to help. They also told me they are very unstaffed and do not pay their employees on time. This person liked his job but was so mortified by the conditioned the dogs were kept in that he reported them and stop working there. Someone else I know did a working interview at Toledo Pet Farm and told me the exact same thing, that the place was filthy and if he was to work there it would be the most disgusting job he had ever taken. He said he felt extremely bad for the animals that were staying here in this filth. read more

On Thursday, August 8, 2013, I called Toledo Pet Farm to schedule our first, and only, grooming service for our Yorkshire Terrier puppy, Minnie. On Friday, August 9, we brought Minnie to Toledo Pet Farm for her service with groomer Sarah. We were told that a staff member would call when the service was completed, and Minnie was ready to be picked-up. We received a phone call approximately an hour and a half later. We arrived fifteen minutes after receiving the phone call. A woman (who we later learned is the owner, Katrina) brought Minnie to us and informed us that, during her grooming service, our puppy had sustained a laceration to her ear, that they were able to stop the bleeding and that she would be fine in a couple of days. We waited for the outcome of the healing process, which took much longer than expected, about a week and a half. During that time we began to notice that the injury was more than a laceration, her ear had been partially severed and there is now a small piece missing. On Tuesday, August 20, I called Toledo Pet Farm and spoke with Paul regarding the injury. I left my phone number and asked him to have the owner return my call. On Wednesday, August 21, I spoke with Katrina and she assured me that she would speak with the groomer, Sarah, and Katrina would be in touch with me the following day. I spoke with Katrina, again, two days later on Friday, August 23, and was told that I should come in on Monday, August 26, for a full refund of the service, which was $40. On Monday, August 26, the day I was to receive the refund, I, instead, received a voice mail stating that Katrina had a family emergency and would not be there to refund the amount of the service. I called Toledo Pet Farm and left a message, on an answering machine, for a staff member to return my call, no one did. On Thursday, August 29, I went to Toledo Pet Farm, as they requested via their voice mail, and was informed that I would not receive the full refund as the owner had told me I would. It was then that they began to treat me in a very rude manner and with the utmost disrespect. At that time, they thrust a copy of our signed contract at me with a paragraph that had been highlighted previous to my arrival. I proceeded to get the names of all staff members involved in the incident, so I could have as much information as possible and make a decision as to how to proceed with this matter. I was then informed by Katrina that she is not the owner, but a sub-contractor, and that the owner's name is Neeti. I then left, was not refunded for the service, however, I did take the copy of the contract. I was later informed that I should call Toledo Pet Farm and obtain the name of their insurance company. When I called, I spoke with the front desk manager, Shelly, who refused to divulge the name of the insurance company and then proceeded to tell me that I was "pissing her off" and that she would hang up on me, when I explained that, after reading the highlighted paragraph on the contract, I noticed that it does not state that Toledo Pet Farm is not liable for the injury of an animal in their care. She told me it was implied. My reason for filing this complaint is to try to prevent other families from experiencing the same heartbreak that we did when we left our much loved puppy in this company's care. She is now permanently scarred and the damage from the injury cannot be repaired. The staff of Toledo Pet Farm is extremely unprofessional in every aspect of services they provide.
