This is still an absolute must of a place to stop when you're in Fort Wayne! I ordered butternut squash carbonara for my entree this time. OMG huge portions! The sauce was a perfect compliment to the homemade pasta. The jowl bacon was a great salty accent to the creamy squash sauce. The gentleman at the bar commented about how good it looked and how he was questioning ordering the ribeye based on how the pasta looked and smelled. Such a great dish for a super cold night! I only ate half of my pasta because I knew that I wanted to get dessert. Even if I hadn't ordered dessert I would've been satisfied with the half portion I had eaten. I opted for the Honey Apple Cornbread with maple sugar and cereal milk ice cream. This dessert is perfection! Little hints of salty bacon and the sweetness of the praline pecans do a great job of complimenting each other. The corn bread is moist and the honey apples add a hint of sweetness. I will note, that this is not a super sweet dessert. So if you're in the mood for sugary, then order one of the other incredible desserts. But for me, this was the best way to go. Tolon is a farm-to-table, and was great! The French onion soup might have been the best I've ever had. I also got the bacon cheeseburger, and upgraded the chips to the duck fat fries. The burger was very good, and the bacon is actually a bacon jam (looks like pulled pork). My buddies got the deviled eggs, which admittedly I don't eat, and said they were good but had maybe too much of the mixture on top. All in all I would definitely recommend going here and trying it out for yourself. Side note, they have a large porterhouse option that feeds two, but you need to give 24 hour notice for that (think I'll try that next time). read more

We stopped here for dinner on our way through Fort Wayne, and honestly, I'm sad we aren't closer! Our waitress, Emilee, was very attentive and nice, but also let us have our time and space. The deviled eggs were amazing. Hubby got the burger and fries which were so yummy. I got the scallops, which were the best scallops I've had anywhere! The drinks were fabulous (Fizzy Endings and June Side Car). We got the cheesecake to go and ate it later at the hotel room. The only issue was that I felt like the pretzel crust got a little soggy since we had a bit of a drive to the hotel. Stopped in for brunch right after they opened on Sunday and we were not disappointed! I had the Nashville Hot Chicken and Waffles and it was delicious, plus I had so much leftover I got a whole second meal out of it. My friend and I also split the duck fat fries and I was shocked by the mound of fries that were dropped off at our table! My only complaint was we didn't get tonight of the basil aioli that comes along with it because I could seriously eat that stuff with a spoon it was so good! My husband took me here for my Mother's Day dinner as he knows I love this restaurant. I love that one can dress casual or decide to dress it up here. Immediately, we were greeted and took to our table. Our waiter came right away and got us water and asked what we wanted to drink I got a Pinot Grigio which was very good and crisp. My husband didn't know what he wanted so he brought a couple samples of beer and then my husband chose one. The food that came out was just delicious I mean it's just amazing I can't even fathom how the owner/chef Matt can figure out these strange things can go together that you never thought would. We had fried mushrooms on top of French toast and it was very good and then for our main meal it was a pork shank with peas stirred in the stew like sauce. It wasn't on the menu but it will be. I absolutely recommend it. Every time we go here we get the best service in this time it was the same. We always enjoy coming here and eating we like it because it's natural in local foods around the area. Nikki and Matt have done a great job with this restaurant and it has not deteriorated one bit from the day they opened. It is superb! The owner ran a group of us, city council members, a fire department official and others, off her patio because we put tables together to accommodate our large group. The told us it was against fire regulations. the firefighter with us, who was not in uniform, said she was wrong, but that didn't seem to matter to her. Creative presentation, I had my Kale Salad a s starter and it was delicious with white cheddar, apples, smoked almonds, pickled raisins and an apple vinaigrette LOVE! We went with the recommended cook on the chop and it was perfectly prepared, fully cooked, but tender and juicy. The combination of the salting of the pork chop and the delicious mole sauce was wonderful!!! The chop and mole paired with the carrots was perfect!! The carrots were tender but not too tender and they were wonderfully charred, sweet and delicious! Nothing can compare the great quality of there food, I just love to visit them again and again to have more of there cocktails they are my new favorites. read more

I Aldo had the fries (huge portion) and the strawberry pretzel cheesecake (my 4 year old daughter gave me one bite and then devoured it). Y'all! Before coming here I only knew of one reason to visit Fort Wayne. Now I'll make that two and this definitely takes precedence! We called to make a reservation and we're told they did t have any tables until after 9pm, so we decided to try our luck for four seats at the bar at 5:30. No luck. We talked the hostess into letting us have a table for an hour and it worked out splendidly!! We had cocktails and wine, shared a charcuterie board, the burger, pork belly, shrimp salad, and pumpkin bisque. Holy Toledo!! Everything was amazing, from presentation to taste, we were all blown away. The restaurant is beautifully decorated and full of beautiful people! I wanted to do something special for Jill's birthday so we drove to Fort Wayne to eat here. It should say something that we drove past hundreds of restaurants to eat at this one. We started off with a deviled eggs which I'm pretty sure illegal in seven countries. The server recommended a very nice Cava to go with it. Next we split the kale salad. For those of you who know me that must seem like an odd choice but we had it before and it's literally one of the best salads I've ever had. The server was kind enough to have it split in the back and the portions are so large that we still had some boxed up. The chef came out and talked to us and he says they sell so much that they literally have three people doing nothing but chopping kale all day. He also the recommended the lobster Bolognese. Yeah that's something I really couldn't wrap my mind around so we had to break it down for me they make homemade gnocchi instead of a Bolognese made with sausage and ground beef it's made with ground shrimp and lobster meat it was off the charts. We tried the duck which was also split in the kitchen. I had mentioned to the chef that I really liked ice cream and he basically created a dessert for me on the spot. They had homemade cookies that were iced for their Restaurant week promotion so had two of those, without icing, heated up and served with the mint chocolate chip ice cream and the maple pecan brown butter ice cream. I would drive two hours again just for either of these ice cream's. If you're a foodie and you live or happen to be within three hours of this place you need to come visit.PS we also ordered a side of the duck fat fries with our dock and couldn't believe how large the portion was the server says they don't do anything small there. read more

Very good spot. Had a buffalo trace Manhattan. Was served in nice glassware (important to me) and came with a luxardo cherry (sign of quality). Had the ham and bean soup - was ok. Came with a cornbread disc in the center. I could have done without the cornbread. It wasnt warmed or toasted prior to the soup being added so it was still cool when I ate it. Would recommend toasting it. Had the scallop entree. Scallops were perfectly cooked and came with roasted veggies side. Loved the toasted macadamia nuts...great touch. People comment about it being pricey...maybe its pricey for Ft Wayne but being from NJ, these prices are in line with what I was expecting for the food quality. read more

The appetizer was great but didn't get past the deviled eggs.  The woman bartending ruined the experience, so I didn't get to eat. I don't know what set her off, but she is a bit too proud of their version of drinks. She seemed irritated that I asked for a cherry for my old-fashioned because "we don't do that here." I also didn't like clove-based bitters. I like bitters; I don't like that one. We ordered the appetizer and main course from her. We didn't see her again and never received our food. She was outside talking to friends, which is great. She may have been a great bartender somewhere, but she really ruined the whole experience. The male bartender was great and tried to save the experience. Why did I write this? If you are going to be so proud of your product, then step up your service and customer experience. I have taken large parties to Tolon multiple times pre-pandemic and always had a great experience. read more

You dine here and you forget your in Fort Wayne. So glad this place opened up. Save up though and splurge when you dine here. Can't wait to try the winter menu seeing as this menu changes seasonally. I had the duck with puréed celery root and fresh veggies and the duck was cooked perfectly, with an amazing Indian-tasting spice blend! I also had the fresh snap pea salad and, again, BOMB!!! Had been really chomping at the bit to try this place and finally got to for my birthday. There were four of us, and split the Brussels sprouts for an appetizer. They were unlike any other Brussel sprouts any of us had ever had. They were crispy and tossed with a fish vinegarette and Indiana maple syrup. Incredible. The main course I had the scallops.
