It's always a pleasure to stop and grab a meal. The food is good, service and patriotic atmosphere. This little family owned restaurant should be added to your list of stops after filling up for fuel at mavericks gas station.

Food was amazing we ordered the burgers off the senior menu. Our server was quick and friendly. The ambiance is casual and patriotic! Loved this place. They even listen to old country music which is a plus for us.

Excellent service and excellent food! Our server was awesome, we never had an empty beverage she check on us at the appropriate times like she knew exactly what she was doing, very friendly with an upbeat attitude. The food was fabulous cooked to perfection and presentation was on point, the booth we sat in was very comfy, this will be our go to spot when we pass through here again! Visited 1/7/2025 at 7pm

A quaint diner spot along the AZ Route 66 that feels like a local hangout. The staff is so friendly and welcoming. They even sat and chatted with an elderly gentleman who obviously dines here often. So heartwarming! My husband ordered the Ultimate Grilled Cheese and Tater Tots which came with a dill pickle spear. Very satisfying according to him and looked amazing. My Chicken Noodle Soup and Half Turkey sandwich was as delicious and comforting as a warm hug. Don't miss this place for a comforting down home experience with staff that makes you feel like family!

Friendly service and great home cooking. Extensive menu. We had a variety of dishes but enjoyed the fry bread the most!

Incredibly friendly service. Ample portions. Very reasonable prices. And the sweet tea was as close to home (NC) as I've had.

I was pleasantly surprised to see the bustle of activity at Gold Miner Diner on opening day. Almost…read moreevery seat was occupied, despite numerous last minute construction details and the training of new staff. Customers were told to keep on their toes as rocks and food deliveries poured through the outdoor seating and back into the kitchen. I could feel the energy of this "pop-up" restaurant tingling in the dry desert air as I waited to be seated. Waitstaff were put through the paces as last minute menu changes were called out from the kitchen. The farmer/chefs, Jantzen and Jack, kept those caught in the din at ease with numerous samples, whether asked for or not. Before I was even seated, there appeared a comically large glass bottle of water and what the Maitre'd, Marshall, described as a "squash latte". The squash latte was presented in an expertly crafted gourd cup topped off with a stick. After a few minutes of poking the thick, seedy mixture in the gourd, another patron, Micah, grabbed the latte from my table and began to roll it around on his. Gabriel, another waiter, promptly brought another dish, "Chop Seuie", again made from a local squash. It would seem that every dish presented at the Opening Day of the Gold Miner Diner was locally sourced from a fifty foot area surrounding the restaurant. Another patron, Josh, described the existence of a local currency in which local miners/land owners exchange crystals mined on their properties for squash raised by the farmer/chefs at the Diner. I am amazed to see that barter and community building is so alive and well in such an isolated part of Eastern Arizona. I definitely recommend this restaurant.

Unfortunately, more recently the service has become extremely slow, and some of the staff seem visibly annoyed that customers are even there. The food has always been good and the restaurant itself is clean, but the attitude from the staff completely changes the atmosphere and makes you feel like you're a problem just for coming into a restaurant to eat. Tonight, I took my grandpa to the St. Michaels location for his birthday. We waited about 10-15 minutes to be seated, which was completely understandable. After being seated, however, we waited another 20 minutes without anyone coming to our table--not even to take a drink order. I finally went back to the front and waited another 10 minutes for someone to come up. I explained, "We've been waiting 20 minutes for someone to serve us." Her response was simply, "I know," and it was said with an attitude. What made it more frustrating was that another family had been seated after us, and a server immediately went to their table, took their drink and food orders, and continued helping them. We even tried calling that server over and were ignored. When I pointed this out, I was told, "Sorry, but there's only two of us here tonight." I completely understand being short-staffed. What I don't understand is seeing a table waiting, acknowledging that they've been waiting, and still not even stopping by to say, "We're short-staffed tonight, but I'll be with you as soon as I can." We eventually left without ever being served and went to McDonald's because it was one of the only places still open. Ironically, their service was 10/10. It was my grandpa's birthday, and I was simply trying to take him out for dinner. We weren't expecting perfect or fast service--we just expected to be acknowledged and treated like customers. Food: always good. Cleanliness: good. Service tonight: 0/10. Being short-staffed can explain a long wait. It doesn't excuse being rude or ignoring customers.

A very sweet older woman was our server. She made sure we were well-tended to and we had everything we needed. I ordered huevos rancheros with red sauce. It was very good. It came with flour tortillas on the side. The tortillas had nice flavor and were very soft. They were different than tortillas I normally eat, but I'm used to Baja-style Mexican food. I thought the beans were flavorful, but a little on the dry side. I think they were on the plate too long before getting to me. Husband got the daily special with tacos. He enjoyed his meal and found it to be a good value. Dining room was clean and comfortable. Restroom was clean and well-stocked. If you are passing through, give this place a try.
