The food here never disappoints. I was dreaming about this TABLT since my last visit and it was excellent. Great service and neighborhood vibe.

You want to enjoy an Irish bar that is part of Los Angeles history? Come here. Tom Bergin's has its own parking lot. Yay for parking. It's got great food. I had a fantastic grilled cheese (I asked for grilled onions to be added.) My friends had fish and chips. The atmosphere is down to earth and authentic. This is NOT where you go when you want to see and be seen. This is where you go when you want to enjoy a drink (or three) with old friends. I enjoyed spotting not one, but two of my college buddies names on the ceiling in the famous Tom Bergin shamrocks. One of those names now lives in Spain. It was nice to "see" him again. Have fun and keep the noise down for their neighbors!

20% auto gratuity for lack luster service, also not disclosed

Buyer beware: 20% auto gratuity added to bill without my knowledge. I visited yesterday with a party of three. When we arrived, we ordered beers right away. I asked the hostess with black hair what beers were available because none of the taps were labeled, there was no beer menu provided, and no menu was visible to us. She seemed annoyed by the question and quickly and quietly listed the taps (it's your literal job). We ended up ordering three draft beers and sitting outside. Later, when I went inside to close my tab, the hostess told me the tab had already been closed about five minutes earlier and asked whether I or someone in my party had closed it. I explained that neither I nor anyone in my group had done so. She spent several minutes looking for my card and repeatedly suggested that I must have been the one who closed the tab, despite my explaining that I had been outside with my group the entire time. Eventually, she discovered that a coworker had actually closed the tab. At no point did anyone apologize or acknowledge that the mistake may have been on their end. The interaction felt dismissive and unprofessional. After receiving my receipt, I left a 15% tip. However, once I got outside, I noticed the total for three beers was $46, which seemed unusually high. I went back inside and requested an itemized receipt. That's when I discovered that a 20% gratuity had already been added automatically, and I had unknowingly added another 15% tip on top of that. I found this practice deceptive because the automatic gratuity was not clearly disclosed to me. For a party of only three people, and given the level of service we received, the added gratuity was especially surprising. I enjoy tipping service industry workers well and am happy to tip well when the service warrants it. In this case, the staff made a mistake, repeatedly implied that I was responsible for it, never apologized, and provided poor customer service throughout the visit. Buyer beware: check your receipt carefully before adding a tip.

The first thing I saw when walking in was dogs in the bar= my personal heaven! The vibe was chill and welcoming. I was lucky enough to try so many things and each was more delicious than the last. I had a hot Irish coffee (yum) an iced Irish coffee (YUMMMM would go back just for this) and an orange vodka drink that was also delicious. The Rueben was great, amazingly crisp fries. My fav item was The Wolfmother burger. Service was great and I look forward to going back.

Best little bar in Los Angeles. I've been coming here since I was a little kid with my parents. Because it was also a restaurant back in the 70s. This pub is epic. The walls are covered in Shamrock's. Many are decades old. My Shamrock is in between the men's and women's bathroom. Ha ha! So I am a regular. I love all the bartenders. Super friendly.. they feel like family! Great cocktails, super tasty food. I love the brussels sprouts! The fried chicken sandwich is delicious! And the best part is that I can walk home after a drink or two! I believe it's now historical landmark. The pub is 90 years old this year. I could go on and on. I absolutely love this place.

    St Pattys Day

Tom Bergin's knows how to throw a party. Especially on St. Patrick's Day. The place was packed before mid morning. DJ was playing, food and green beer were flowing, happy people everywhere. I've only been here on St Patrick's Day. Would love to come back during regular hours. But day drinking for the win always!

A decent old fashioned for 15 dollars this is nice pricing and an unbeatable ambiance in this very old building. I haven't tried the food since I came here after eating.

    Lemon pepper wings

Went for lunch and the food was exceptional. I had their wings, my partner had one of there burgers, and my friends had a Ruben and a turkey blt. The lemon pepper wings were delicious and their house made ranch was a plus! My partner wants to go back for their burger. And my friend that was visiting loved the Ruben. And the only complaint on the blt was too much avocado! (I kinda love that they're not shy on the avocado) the drinks were great! I got strawberry fields and it was such a beautiful herbal gin drink. The ambience of the place is your regular sports bar, loud. But they have outside sitting if that's not your vibe! Like any bar you order at the bar and they'll bring the food to you.

    Shepherds pie .

5 stars for coolness and history, 3 stars for lunch. Probably a much better place to hang out in during the evening hours. I'm guessing we caught them short handed as it was get your menu from the bar, seat yourself and then return to the bar to order your lunch. Also has self-service for water as well as returning to the bar to get a refill for our sodas. 4 stars for the fish and chips and the patty melt. 3 stars for the burger. Funny enough, the lettuce was too crunchy . 2 stars for the Shepherds pie. Not enough veggies in the meat sauce and way too many onions for me. Of course, others may have a different opinion. Really an amazing place to visit based on the history. Think they have been there since 1936. For me, it would be a great place to return for a cocktail and then, maybe some fish and chips. Pick what you like and...enjoy!

Are you open for indoor dining as of 9/18/21?

They have indoor dining. I went December 2021.

Do they show professional wrestling here or would they?

Sorry Eric, for the close-minded jerk who answered above. I'm sure you've dealt with people like him in the past, as I have. As for your question, I'll say that any PPVs probably won't be shown since the license is expensive (at least for WWE). As…

Long Review: Came here with 3 other friends to watch Spain v Argentina in the World Cup Championship. We got here 1 hour before the game started and they were out of 3 mixers for cocktails, and two beers. Seriously? It's the biggest game of the year in the WORLD and you couldn't run a list the night before for what you needed? The food was pretty good, though. We shared wings and fries and they were tasty. The atmosphere was fun and set up for exciting visuals. Several big screen TVs, music during the commercials and a really cool wait staff who seemed to know all the regulars on a first-name basis. Not sure if I'd come back for anything other than a big sporting event, though. If you're in the middle of bustling Hollywood next to two other hot sports bars, you gotta have something that separates you from the pack. Their total service package could be that if they could get their ordering right.

This ultimate roadhouse on the final stretch of the original Route 66 is so deeply enshrined in Los Angeles lore that almost everyone in town's been there at least once, while almost everyone everywhere else has heard of it. And to its credit, Barney's has evolved in the decades I've lived in town, becoming much less of a dirty dive and really improving their game in the kitchen, which used to put out really sub-par grub. Nowadays, the kitchen is forging far better food and presenting it in a style far closer to what you see in similar diner-style restaurants in the area. Fries served in little fry baskets is just one example of them upping the ante. Service is a pleasing and appropriate mix of West Hollywood punk with well-trained hospitality, and bartenders like Victoria (on duty during my time there today) deftly balance local attitude with universal charm, taking care of you exactly as you need while maintaining a rapport that's down to Earth and genuinely friendly rather than being corporately crafted. I went against all my born-and-raised New Yorker instincts by ordering a pizza for dinner. Not just an LA pizza, but an LA BAR pizza! And you know what? It was really good. I opted for the pie called Johnnie's Fave, featuring mushrooms, jalapeños, cilantro and (usually) pepperoni that I replaced with sausage. The amply portioned 10" pizza is built on good-quality dough that's been properly proofed, plumping up at the edges in the oven while crisping nicely towards the center. The mozzarella melts well and offers good flavor without becoming greasy, while the sausage and veggies are all fresh, tasty and satisfying. The pizza is accompanied by a trio of condiments served in old-fashioned paper ramekins: crushed red pepper, Parmesan cheese, and creamy Ranch Dressing. While I'd never dip the heart of the pizza, I fully embraced the bar pie experience by dipping my crust, and I must say the cool, fresh Ranch Dressing was a really enjoyable indulgence. There wasn't much of a crowd this Sunday afternoon, a fact that Victoria chalked up to people taking a break between the end of World Cup and the start of College Football in a few weeks. But that just made it easier for me to slide into a seat at the bar, tip back a few cocktails, and enjoy a surprisingly good pizza on a Sunday afternoon. I mean, Barney's has always been a reliable place to get your drink on, but it's nice to know it's finally become an equally reliable place to eat a very decent meal.
