The lady actually attempted to make the phone call about her and her feelings as opposed to Ruben and Lydia being defrauded for thousands of dollars including a $3,400 60 month 100,000 mile warranty. They came in less than a week later with problems and Robert told him oh it shifts like that normal don't worry about it there's no problem. The reviews about them selling bad cars are unfortunately true. We got a CRV at a decent price and were happy till driving home I see the back wheel wobbling and making a loud noise. Come to realize the wheel bearing is bad. An incredibly dangerous vehicle to be in with how bad it was moving. I trusted their word on how it was in great shape but ended up feeling like we were getting taken advantage of. Luckily we got our money back the next day. This place is a joke with the typical dishonest sales people that don't disclose damage on cars and make someone drive to their store to show them trash cars that are massively over price for conditions. Vehicle had been crashed with nasty sloppy repainted panels, front bumper clips broken and didn't even fit the front fender right as they were repainted by probably a 5yr old blind kid, plastic moldings no longer fit right due to accident repair and there was additional quarter panel repaint as well. While I prefer to reserve my reviews for exceptional experiences, in this instance I feel obligated to try and prevent trusting car seekers from visiting Drive Happy as they have shown to lack due diligence in the cars they sell, despite having mechanics on site. I was sold a terrible car with severe pre-existing conditions under the guise of a low-mileage reliable car. One year ago, I purchased a used Subaru Forester with 48K miles for the very high-end of KBB. The salesman Jimmy shared the Carfax saying it looked great, save a minor fender bender (that I pointed out), and showed me a list of the work their shop had sone prior to selling (water-pump replacement, angle sensor, brake pads, clock spring). My only grievance at the time was that Rob the finance manager put the pricy GAP insurance on my loan without asking and I didn't need it. 6 days later the car overheats, complete with smoke pouring out from the hood. They did a courtesy fix on what they claimed to be a cracked radiator cap. One month later while visiting family in Utah, a new horrible smell appears and the heat/defrost stops working leaving me stranded. A wonderful mechanic there was able to replace the water pump (yes, the one that was supposed to have been replaced before I bought it), but more concerning he pointed out that someone had poured stop-leak/radiator seal down the radiator and warned me about the future problems that would inevitably cause to the engine. I returned to Drive Happy to ask if they put it in there or why they would sell me this car with a destructive substance in the radiator or (I do not know how they could not have seen it after the previous repair). Jimmy was no longer with the company, but I asked another associate to print the Carfax and we looked through it again slowly line-by-line. Several red flags (replaced engine, additional water-pump replacements, too many transfers of ownership), but they said I bought it as-is and there was nothing they could do now. Fast forward to this summer, and the big problems start. Regular overheating, burning through oil and coolant at an unusual rate. Returned to DH again, insisting they help make this right. One salesman admitted they had to let go of one of their mechanics because he wasn't doing things right and one of the finance managers Dave offered to consign the car for me if I paid to have them fix it first. He ghosted me after leaving the car to be diagnosed (turns out he quit too). The car needs new head gaskets or complete engine replacement at a mere 63K miles. Desperate now, I called the service places on the Carfax and turns out this car was totaled (air bags deployed, over 19 thousand dollars in damage, but the guy didn't have insurance so paid for it out-of-pocket and the title never got the rebuilt designation). The repair shop owner said he will never forget this car, it was in terrible shape, and he didn't want to fix it, regretted taking the job, and he was very sorry I ended up with it. DH is willing to have me buy a used engine and discount the labor to install (Still over $3800 total estimate vs. 5K-8K at a local mechanic). or trade it out for a different car but will only give me about half what I still owe on it since it has so many issues (which is what they sold me, a car with so many issues). Rob said if I had pushed harder the first time I came back, they may have been able to help me out more. I am stuck with this garbage, as I would NEVER try to sell it to another poor soul, but hopefully this experience will make you think twice about purchasing from this dealership or at least have the good sense I didn't and take it somewhere you trust to be checked and read through the Carfax with a fine-tooth comb. read more

Unfortunately, I can't recommend this business. We bought a BMW from Drive Happy about 5 months ago. Unfortunately we have had nothing but problem after problem and a multitude of leaks amounting to thousands (over $5,000) in repairs. I am having to refill coolant every two weeks, the leak is that bad. The pictures below are from a two day period. This has been going on ever since we bought the car and happens every time I refill the coolant...and when that dries, we can see the massive oil leaks on the ground also. We were also sold an expensive extended warranty, their "top of the line" warranty that was supposed to cover most everything... it covers NONE of the repairs. It was a complete waste of money for us but a good profit maker for Drive Happy. Drive Happy offered to make repairs to the vehicle, but it will still cost us thousands even at the "discounted" rate. I'm very apprehensive about having their mechanics make repairs. They had to call a BMW dealer to find out what parts they needed to make repairs. And... haven't even looked at my vehicle. This doesn't instill confidence that they know what they are doing... I'm concerned the job may not be done correctly. I feel the issues with the car were most likely there when it was sold to us. I'm very disappointed that Drive Happy isn't making this right. You claim I'm hysterical. A flatly sexist comment. I have been angry and demanding, but in no way hysterical. I have maintained professional demeanor throughout this disappointing process. You also claim that these issues didn't exist when I purchased the vehicle. I beg to differ. ...clearly this car has had issues from the beginning. I don't even know if the vacuum pump, which you claimed needed to be replaced, was the issue, it may have been these coolant, oil and A/C issues all along. Again, see pictures below. I have had this car into two other certified BMW mechanics to try to figure out what's going on with it. One of the certified BMW mechanics has offered to fix these issues for about the same price as you have. So, you're actually not offering to fix these issues for half. They both told me the same thing on the issues. These issues have been persistent and ongoing since we bought it. It's unfortunate you chose to apply a sexist label a female customer who wants things to be put right. I have no idea what a warranty costs you, but it is typically a money maker for most used car dealers. Avoid this place like the plague. They sell bad cars to unsuspecting people. Here's what happened to me: I bought a used GMC Acadia in Feb. 2024. From the first week, the battery died constantly and A/C didnt work. The service dept. fixed these issues eventually but it took multiple visits. Three months later, the timing chain jumped the gears and the whole engine had to be replaced. The service department did the engine repair for a little over four thousand dollars, and it took a couple months. I had to file a complaint with the Idaho Dept. of Insurance before the warranty company (Drive Happy sold me the policy) would honor the claim -- they tried to blame me for engine problems before eventually paying. The wiring done with the replacement engine was faulty, and the car never worked right again. I had three mechanics look at it and charge me for doing so, but they could never isolate the problem beyond saying the installation was shoddy. The A/C compressor also ceased to function. I just traded the car in to buy a new one and got almost nothing for it. This was the worst car owning experience possible short of driving off the lot and the wheels falling off. read more

I purchased a used minivan from Izzy last week, great experience, very kind and considerate, listens when you are talking and goes out of his way to maintain a positive experience. After having the van for a couple of days I noticed a big oil leak under the engine. When I called Luis went over the issue and asked me to bring the van in. He immediately knew the issue as this is a common problem in the Chrysler/Dodge minivans, the oil filter housing (plastic from the factory) cracked, they replaced it with the upgraded aluminum housing and should not have any more issues with this. All of my interactions with Drive Happy have been exceptional, with great attitudes and great service. I would recommend this place to everyone, plus the prices are great! Kenny read more

What a great experience to be had at Drive Happy! Jimmy, Dustin and Roel (sales guys) all are helpful and super knowledgeable. Buying a car can be stressful and they make the experience easy. Customers don't feel like they are being pushed into anything like at other dealers. The cars are all priced fairly, (I do my research) below book value and the cars have been inspected and looked over by certified mechanics. The sales managers really work for the customers and really want you to Drive Happy! I highly recommend Drive Happy! read more

BUYER BEWARE - Purchased a 2000 Honda passport on June 16th 2023 from Drive happy auto in Nampa off Garrity. They asked for 4500 and we offered 4000. John (the General Manager) said he would not charge us taxes on the vehicle (its illegal for them not to pay taxes on a vehicle). The GM John also said he would not put a sell amount on the bill of sale so that we could add what ever we wanted when we went to the DMV (not honest people). We did give the government what we owed so we didn't do anything questionable as they suggested. August 1st, a month and a half after purchasing this vehicle the transmission went out and they said they would not do anything for us. They are trying to say we purchased this through a private party because we paid cash and have paperwork with their business name on it and signed all the paperwork with them at Drive Happy Auto. The real story is when we were there looking they said they had "a car in the back" that has not made it on the lot yet and that if we wanted to look at it that we could test drive that one. They ran a carfax with their business name on the carfax and advertised it through their dealership. I have heard more stories after we purchased the car unfortunately that this dealership does not sell good cars. My hope is that nobody else makes the mistake we made by working with these people. They are not honest and sell crapy broken down cars. read more

We came in on a Saturday, got approved for the truck we wanted. But needed a larger down payment then expected. We got approved for a loan for a down payment from our bank, but since it was Saturday we wouldn't be able to get the funds till Monday. The manager, and sales man both agreed to letting us pay $500 NON REFUNDABLE deposit to hold the truck until Monday. Then 5 minutes later, come back to tell us that they don't feel "comfortable" taking our money and that no one would come buy the truck 3 hours before they closed. And pretty much assured us the truck would be there Monday morning. We left, went and got the loan money same day, and before we could make it back they call to say they sold the truck. Now, let me advise you, while we were waiting to hear back from the lender still in their office with the sales man, they took the truck keys to show the truck to someone else... AS WE WERE WAITING TO PURCHASE IT. Just because they knew they had someone else interested and ready to buy, they didn't care that we were there first, and we were trying to make ends meet to get this vehicle. It's the price of SHITTY business. As for our sales guy, Mark (i believe his name was) He was tons of help and very polite. Sadly, this failed sales was due to poor management. read more
