If you're reading this message just click out of this profile and go somewhere else. I could go on for ages about the issues I encountered here. I brought in a great car that had some side damage. I walked out without a car. The Tom Wood Collision crew ran up estimations that had my insurance list the car as totaled. The insurance company shared that this is Tom Wood's MO and that they're impossible to work with. They weren't wrong. When I brought the car in I was given a timeline when I would hear about the total cost. That timeline was not followed. When I pointed this out to the estimator with Tom Wood, he called me a liar. Which is really a weird flex. After looking at reviews online I saw I'm not the only person with issues and the manager seems to be active when it comes to commenting on negative reviews asking how he can help. I reached out to him over the phone and via email about the wild unprofessionalism. I never heard back. In addition, Tom Wood shared that the reason the price was so high is because they use certified VW trained team members which means some things are required when repairing a car. You can easily debunk this when looking at your manual and going on the VW site where they list things as suggested. Not required. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone... Under any circumstance. Our car was rear ended. It didn't look like a lot of damage but after Tom Wood looked at it, there was a lot of underneath damage not easily seen. Although it took about a month to get our car back it was worth it as it looks like new Tom Wood had some miscommunication with Hertz and the insurance company. Seems the insurance company did not like the fact that we needed a rental car for a week while Tom Wood ordered parts The 3 parties, Insurance, Car Rental and Tom Wood would not accept responsibility for the week car rental charge and $200+ defaulted to us. I bought my 2022 RAV4 from Tom Wood and almost exclusively has all maintenance done by them, so that when my car was rear-ended in September, it seemed to make perfect sense to bring it here. I was wrong!!! Chris, the Assistant Manager, assured me that he would "do all the heavy" lifting, which consisted of snarky e-mails to my insurance company and a refusal to answer direct questions. He kept on telling me to go to an RTA (Right To Appraisal), since there was a $4,000+ difference between their estimate and what the insurance company would pay. I spent weeks trying to figure out what the difference was, assuming that I would have to pay the difference out-of-pocket. Finally, I asked my husband to intervene and voila!!! A deal was cut with Chris, Josh (the General Manager) and my husband. Chris never told me that whatever was settled through the RTA was the final sum, and we would owe nothing out-of-pocket. He also never told me that once we pull the trigger on the RTA the repairs begin. I feel certain that I was treated differently because I am a woman (I don't look for these things, but this one was pretty tough to ignore), and the guys were able to pound out an agreement in no time. If you are female, I suggest you bring along a male to getter better and faster resolution. Fun fact: even Tom Wood employees admitted they won't bring their cars there for repairs. I SO wish I had read the reviews before I brought my car there. At one point I said forget it, I'll pick the car up, but it was disassembled and I would owe $4600+ to get it back (which includes a $65/day "storage" fee). YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED. WORST EVER!!!! My vehicle was struck in front by a USAA insurance holder. Since I own a Lexus, I chose to take the car to my dealer instead of a USAA shop, because until now, I trusted Tom Wood locations for ALL my car needs. BIG mistake this time. The professionals at the front desk were wonderful. The young lady vividly explained the intake process, and clearly what to expect during my vehicles stay there. AND, she explained with great clarity, how diligent their estimators are when it comes to communicating, and dealing with insurance companies. She even showed me a book of insurance companies that have been difficult to deal with in history, and that their estimators understand how important it is to operate with accuracy. That was NOT my experience with an estimator there. From the onset, he was very leading in conversation. I could rarely complete a sentence. He was ALWAYS trying to finish my sentences, and it was VERY apparent that he was NOT listening the majority of ANY verbal exchange. I continued to redirect his understanding of what I was saying because he rarely allowed a completed sentence! The offending insurer provided an estimate, which consisted of only pics of my license place, VIN, mileage, and front of the car (per their request). After the struggle of sharing the car's behavior after being struck, he indicated that a USAA adjustor would need to look at it. I understood. We returned to his office, and he asked if I had the contact info for the USA representative. I gave him the contact's name, TRIED to give phone number and extension, and generic email address I had. The USAA advisor had sent me correspondence from a generic email address, but I gave that. While I'm TRYING to give this information, he was continually cutting me off; indicating that he was going to send an email to every email address he had, and he called and left a voicemail for SOMEONE while I was in his office. He sent the email, saying he had copied me. I recited my email address to him with clarity. No email came. After a day or so, he texted me via the Tom Wood internal messaging system, sharing that he'd gotten no response, and asked if I had gotten any. I replied that I never received the email that he indicated copying me in. I asked that he check my email address, with which he replied that he had captured my email correctly. So, understanding how his personal effects don't allow him to listen easily; I typed my email address to him. He forwarded me the email that he sent to SOMEWHERE in USAA. I QUICKLY NOTICED that he had MISPELLED MY EMAIL ADDRESS! But he was SO SURE that he was beyond making an error! INSTEAD of doing what is generally normalized with requested communications; he NEVER FOLLOWED UP WITH ANOTHER CALL TO THE OTHER FIRM (USAA). He just continued to text ME saying that he hadn't gotten a response! Well.... I was told by the representative at the front desk that THEIR ESTIMATORS WERE DILIGENT WITH COMMUNICATION AND ADVOCACY FOR THEIR CLIENTS! So, I was under the impression that he would at LEAST do a couple follow-ups. He could have also tried to call a more general number to speak to an advisor JUST IN CASE the advisor assigned to my case had to be out. LIFE HAPPENS. THIS way, someone ELSE could have picked up the ball and expedited the help that we needed. NO, he ONLY texted ME to say that he had not heard. THEN he proceeded to tell me that I need to call them because it's MY insurance, and MY claim (I actually have Progressive, NOT USAA. The person who hit my car has USAA, but I'm sure he had skipped that)!!! I returned the text, indicating that my being in the middle prior to a USAA appraiser/estimator/adjuster giving their estimate, was not needed, as THAT'S what the Tom Wood estimator is skilled to do, per the front desk professional who explained the program. He just contended that they wouldn't listen to him, and that they've not responded. I responded that I would then, get in the middle and try to contact them, although this is NOT was was indicated to be my responsibility. I understood; I was to wait until all estimates were done, and was contacted with the findings and the outcome of MY TRUSTED SHOP's advocacy. I placed ONE call to USAA, an the advisor answered the phone on the FIRST RING. He indicated that he had NO EMAIL from this estimator, and could find No voicemail. BUT, he took the rep's number from me, and said he would call to speak with him regarding my claim, and get back to me. Later that SAME day, the USAA advisor indicated that he had left TWO voicemails for him, with NO RETURNED CALL. The Tom Wood rep called ME condescending because of HIS lack of service. Then tried to play the victim. I moved my vehicle to another shop. I'm DONE with Tom Wood. This car was for my daughter. I WAS going to purchase the LX600 this coming Friday here. If I could give ZERO stars I would - husband dropped off car the day after our daughter was born (!!!!!) to get an initial estimate going. Fast forward to 8/10 when he dropped it off for repairs, 8/23 they were just ordering parts. Now 9/12 and they *just* found out a part is back ordered until MID OCTOBER(!!!) and REFUSE to cover a rental car because 'its not their fault its on backorder'. He assessed and explained my option from the simplest to the most complex, and was transparent about what he could and couldn't guarantee, what he might do were he in my position, and what the cost efficiency of each option would be. They took our car apart to assess damage and put it back together per our request so we could take it somewhere to be fixed. they left pieces of our car in my trunk. My car is not even safe to drive. They cashed the money that my car insurance money sent and they did zero repairs. The worst experience so far! I dropped off my car almost two weeks ago. I was checking on my VW app and there wasn't anything going on with it. Since I didn't receive any updates from my estimator for 10 days, I decided to give him a call. Unfortunately he never answered his phone. I left him many voice messages and still didn't hear anything from him. I tried to reach out to the manager. Same thing......poor communication and zero respect to the customer. Very disappointing and frustrating! Update....just got a call from my estimator, finally after my fifth voice message. They will need another 6 to 8 weeks for my car to be done!!!! If you are a Tesla owner, I would advise to not take your vehicle here. I just had my car towed from Tom Wood after waiting an entire month of it sitting in their lot for them to tell me I needed to pay to have it towed to Tesla to have key cards figured out (for whatever reason they don't work and I use my phone to drive). I find it unacceptable after this long to find out there is another delay. I had my car repaired last February by this location and after 2-3 months of waiting for repairs I got the car back and had to take it back to this location (3 hour drive) to have my frunk disassembled and reassembled as the alignment was so tight it wouldn't close. This location during the last repair was not great with communication, multiple emails had to be sent to hear back on multiple occasions during this entire stint. After these two experiences I can confidently say there are better options down the street from these folks, Similar repairs in the past took a fraction of the time, and they were better with communication when I had repairs done in 2019. My advice for Tom Wood would be to figure out the communication aspect when dealing with clients. Half of my problems could have been resolved with just hearing back in a timely matter. This isn't a problem with inventory, or having too many cars to send a email in a timely manner, and is extremely disappointing that this was the excuse that was presented to me. read more

They called me the day after I dropped it off to tell me that I needed a few extra parts and that there were no delays on those parts (which seem to be a lot of people's concerns in these reviews). Showed up at 9:50 am on Jan. 5, 2022 for my 10 am appointment that I've made ever since November. But to find out it would only be for an estimate and I have to schedule another appointment in March for a drop off for a repair. When I called in November to make the initial appointment, I was told by the receptionist Nancy McGuire that they don't have any available appointment until Jan.5,2022. I explained to her that I needed my car to be repaired from a car accident. The car is drivable but needed to be fixed as soon as possible. State Farm will send in the work order for it. She took down my informations and never explained to me how their procedures work. As far as Jan 5,2022 will just be an estimate. I will have to wait and make another appointment for drop off( which the wait is another 2 months out). She was too busy talking about how her day went and making small talk. So State Farm did sent out the work order on November 30,2021. I never receive any calls from Tom Wood collisions to inform that they have received the work order and how they will proceed with it. I called again a week prior to my appointment to confirm my appointment and again Nancy was excited for the new year, how tired she was and blah blah. I asked her if my appointment would still be good for the repair. She said " yes, your appointment on Jan.5 is good to go." My infuriations was towards the lack of communications from Tom Wood collisions. I was never told how their procedures work since it is my first time doing business with them. I have dealt with Tom wood Lexus dealership and they are great. There were so much time wasted and months of waiting around for appointments. This was an atrocious experience and I hope this review provides some sort of transparency for those looking for a repair center, since the business did not provide any transparency whatsoever. We had a backing accident earlier this year. It was a preventable incident, but it happened and created a dent that we needed fixed. We backed our work truck into our personal truck in the farm drive. The speed was less than 5 mph. This created a large dent in the rear driver side quarter panel. Our insurance said we needed to take the truck to a "Ford certified" repair center because of aluminum. We were given choices and chose Tom Wood Collision Center because of the Tom Wood name. We reached out, they provided an estimate to insurance for the cost (understanding that there may be additional costs) of a little over $3,000. Insurance approved it. We set an appointment to drop it off and go over the process (which got moved to later but that is not the issue). In September, we drove the truck down and dropped it off and met with an "estimator." They stated they would text every T/Th with updates on the repair status. That lasted for two weeks. We reached out and kept getting replies such as: "Coop's hours were changed and he is off today but we will have him get back to you." Or, "Sorry about the delay. We are changing your text days to M/W." Eventually, over two weeks after they took possession of the truck, we were notified they were actually disassembling it to "look for hidden damage." (read: charge more money.) We were actually notified by the insurance company of the completion of this step because they sent a notice that they had only approved a portion of the additional $6,000 in "hidden" damages. After nearly 9 weeks of having the truck, we finally set our own date to retrieve it and received a message that it was going for spray lining. We asked for them to hold off on that and just give us the truck. They did not. They knew we were arriving yet the truck was not available. Once they retrieved the truck from spray lining, they stated it needed washed. TWO hours later, when it felt that they were intentionally dragging their feet to prove some point, we recruited a manager. We finally left the premises with the truck at 1:15pm (nearly 5 hours after we arrived to pick it up) after being required to pay nearly $3,000 out of pocket to cover even more charges that they found and would send to insurance. We ultimately ended up nearly $2,000 out of pocket for expenses such as a 2.5 hour "airbag" inspection due to a "collision" and a "seatbelt" inspection. I understand charges that are in addition to or over and above what insurance will cover but to have the final invoice inflated by over two times the original estimate was completely unreasonable. Do your due diligence. This company is completely non-transparent. They lack in adequate communication and overcharge. Buyer beware. read more

Avoid Tom Wood Collision at all costs!!!! We took a car in for a light front end collision (hood, grill and some brackets). The body work performed looks pretty good. The customer service experience was the worst. We were told the repair would take 5 weeks. It took more than 10 weeks. No loaner car was made available even though this was 100% TWCC's problem. No apologies or explanations were given. We were told the car was ready, went to pick it up and found the hood badly misaligned and there was water in a headlight for the first time ever. They fixed the hood but not the headlight. Multiple times they asked for payment above our deductible. They repeatedly asked our insurance company for more money. I suspected they were being shady and not replacing the parts so I asked in writing they keep all parts removed and I would pick them up upon completion. Guess what, they "forgot" to keep a single one! The icing on the cake was that the car was delivered to TWCC without any mechanical issues and returned to us with a nearly non-functioning hood, a check engine light came on during the drive home, it was for the first time ever leaking engine fluids and not drive-able! From my experience this business operates without any concern for customer experience or satisfaction. When all these issues were brought to their attention we got only ducking and dodging. This review is in process after 17 weeks in the shop. Yes its week 17 at Tom Wood Collision and counting. You ask why?, well they have the parts so why is it taken so long? There's no reason why except that management is not able to manage production and the vehicles stock pile. Just be aware that your vehicle will set and not get worked on in a timely manner. On 22JUN2023 I left my 2014 Audi Q7 with Tom Wood Collision (TWC) so they may repair the vehicle from being hit by someone earlier in the year. At the time I dropped off the vehicle, the employee (Coop) instructed me that they would need to disassemble the vehicle in the area where the vehicle was struck, in order to generate a quote. He stated he would submit the quote to the insurance company and any additional information they needed. Since I was working with the insurance of the other driver, TWC had to generate a quote to submit to the insurance company. I was initially informed by the insurance company that they would cover the cost of the repair since I had already taken the vehicle to another body shop who generated a quote per the insurance company's request. 29JUN2023 TWC submitted the quote to the insurance company. 11JUL2023 the insurance company initially stated that based on the quote from TWC they would total the vehicle and they would take ownership. I requested that they reevaluate my case since I was informed that the vehicle would be repaired, and my family preferred the vehicle to be repaired. They agreed to reevaluate. On 28JUL2023 I was informed that they still determined that the vehicle would be total loss, but I could keep ownership of the vehicle. On 28JUL2023 I informed Coop at TWC of the insurance company's decision. He informed me that they cannot repair a total loss vehicle. As a result, I informed him that I would have the vehicle towed to a different collision center for the repair. He informed me that in order for the vehicle to be released to a towing company the balance of the bill would need to be paid. I was aware of any bill since they failed to inform of such. I asked what the bill amount was. He stated he would need to make that determination and call me back, which he never did. I called Coop on 31JUL2023. He informed me that the invoice was for $7489.42. I asked what the invoice consisted of. He stated it consisted of labor to disassemble the vehicle, an alignment, administrative fees, and a storage fee. I requested that he email me the invoice which he never did. On 31JUL2023 I called TWC and asked for a manager, and they transferred me to Josh P. at which time I left a message. The manager called me back on 03AUG2023. He stated that he reviewed the invoice, and I was given the incorrect balance. He stated the invoice was $2269.96. I informed him I would need to discuss with my family what we wanted to do. I called Josh on 04AUG2023 and left a message. I called Josh on 07AUG2023 and left a message. I called Josh on 08AUG2023 and left a message. I called Josh on 09AUG2023 and left a message. I called the general office number on 09AUG2023 and spoke to Rhonda (Customer Service) who was not able to help me but did inform me that Josh was out and would not return until 14AUG2023 and I would hear from him then. I did not hear from Josh on the 14AUG2023. I called Josh on 15AUG2023 and left a message. I called Josh on 17AUG2023 and left a message. I called Josh on 21AUG2023 and left a message. Josh finally called me on 22AUG2023. He stated he would send the invoice to my email, which he did. I reviewed the invoice. I called Josh on 23AUG2023 and left a message. He called me back and I informed him that I would be willing to pay all fees except for the storage fee of $975. This is due to extremely poor service, TWC failing to inform me of any fees and my family being without our family vehicle, while the insurance company and TWC came to a decision. He stated that he would not reduce the invoice balance. Since they had vehicle, I had to pay the invoice so I could get my vehicle to a collision center so it could be repaired. The vehicle was disassembled in several pieces. I had to load all the parts to my truck myself. Not one person helped load any of the parts. Once the vehicle was towed and we started assessing the parts we learned they did not give us the door panels. Therefore, I had to make a second trip from Greenwood to TWC again. Reading through the other reviews, I was surprised at some of the very low scores. It may be that there has been a change in management since many of them were posted. I was rear ended and chose Tom Wood Collision since I bought my Audi from Tom Wood Audi. They were able to get me in for an estimate within 24 hrs of my initial call, got the preliminary estimate approved the day of the estimate and I scheduled drop off for repairs the next day. The original completion date was 4/26, or 10 days after drop off. The repairs were completed and I picked up the vehicle 2 days early on 4/24. The car looks great inside and out, and I do not note any issues with the repair although I've not had a chance to drive it much since I picked it up just this morning. This is a bittersweet review. My brand new car that I owned for 35 days was rear-ended pretty badly. I had purchased by 2014 Subaru Forester from Tom Wood Subaru, just down the road from their collision center. The day after the accident I called my dealer and he suggested that I take my car to their collision center, so I did. Because my car was so new, it took almost 5 full weeks for repairs. The original manufacturer parts had to be shipped in, and many were on backorder for a long time. Despite the other reviews here, I was very satisfied with the customer service. I received calls every Tuesday and Thursday, one from the receptionist and one from the estimator. I was surprised at how often they checked in to tell me what was going on. When Enterprise told me my rental was up, Tom Wood called Enterprise AND my insurance to get everyone on the same page. I barely had to do ANYTHING to ensure that all parties were aware of what was going on. I'm not giving them five stars because I've only had my car back for a day and while everything looks to have been fixed properly, I can't be sure just yet. I will also say that scheduling the initial appointment with the estimator took a while. DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR TO TOM WOOD COLLISION CENTER. If I could give them no stars, I absolutely would. My new car got scratched up on the hood a few months after I purchased it, so I searched for places to take it in the Indianapolis area. I just moved here and haven't dealt with any car places in the Indy area, but this place looked decent to me, so I scheduled an estimate. It was a simple 3 day job, and I dropped my car off Monday night- they said it would be available to pick up Thursday morning. I made sure to tell them that I needed my car by Thursday evening, they said it should be no problem. I called Thursday morning to ask when it would be available- they said it wouldn't be. I called Friday morning and they said to call back later- well it turns out that they said it definitely would not be ready until after the weekend, and I could pick it up Monday. Well now it is Monday and they STILL don't know if it will be done by the end of today. This place just DOES NOT know what they are doing. My car was NOT heavily damaged at all, it was only scratched, no dents, and they couldn't even handle a small paint job. The fact that I had to keep calling and calling every single day to check up on my car was a huge pain, and they never seemed to know what was going on. Every time I called in they had to put me on hold for extended periods of time just to go back and check on my car, even if I had called a few hours prior. If they don't know, they'll just keep telling you to "call back later", instead of checking it themselves and calling you back. I even asked the woman on the phone if she could call me back instead. She said she would go check and call me right back, but she never did. I would never recommend this company to anyone, ever. I can't wait for this process to be over and done with and I hope they did a good job on the work otherwise I will be taking it someplace else just to get my car out of their care. read more

Shortly after my move to Indianapolis, my Lexus was rear ended at a gas station. The accident caused scratching to my bumper and took off some paint near the rear sensors. Tom Wood Collision Center took care of every small detail when it came to the repairs. They were incredibly accommodating and the repair manager personally walked through the work done to my car to ensure that my needs were met. Please be aware of the reviews posted about this collision center. Like other reviews, I myself have had a terrible experience here. My own insurance company stated how they will not suggest other customers to take their car to this location. To sum up my experience I would say this collision center is distrust worthy, disrespectful, and flat out rude. Please read on to see the horrific details regarding my experience with this shop. 1/24- The day of the wreck 1/26- Someone reached out saying they received my car and would proceed to give me updates. 1/30- they sent the FIRST round of repairs estimates to my insurance company. 2/1- My insurance company accepted the repairs and my car was assigned to a technician. 2/7- The shop contacted me saying there were a SECOND round of repair estimates that needed to be sent to my insurance company. 2/8- they received the second repair approval and changed my completion date to 2/27. 2/9- they started the repairs and still on track to be done 2/27 2/12- they said they were at the halfway mark of my car being done. 2/13- The collision center notified me that they were still waiting on parts for my car and should arrive in a couple of days, still expected to be done 2/27. 2/22- all but two parts arrived and still on track for 2/27 completion 2/27- the day they told me my car would be completed, they notified me the completion date changed to 3/5. When I asked what the holdup was they said my insurance company didn't approve the second round of repair estimates for 10 days making the completion date longer than expected. My father is my insurance agent, so I know this statement was false. This is when I stopped getting updates and had to call/leave voicemails to get a response on when I would get my car. I was without a car since it was over my $900 rental car fee, and they offered no rental car through their body shop. Every time I called I got a new completion date with no explanation as to what was taking so long to get my car done. 3/20- they informed me that they didn't order another part for my car that was required. This was a piece for the headlight washer and wasn't necessary to drive the car. This was my THIRD repair estimate sent to my insurance company. 3/22- I called and demanded to be sent a picture of my car to see it was truly being worked on. At this point I had been without my car for 8 weeks with no explanation as to why the parts were taking so long or when I would truly get it. With finally getting aggressive and asking to speak to a manager, it was only then that they told me I could pick my car up that afternoon. This was only after them telling me they didn't know when I could pick up my car. Clearly my car was not their priority if it was sitting there done but couldn't bother to let me pick it up. 3/23- I drove my car to work and without fail I got an emergency warning on my call saying my car had been in a wreck and needed to be repaired. At this point I was fed up with the collision center and took it to the Volvo dealership I brought it from. 3/30- the dealership called me and informed me that my windshield was malfunctioning and needed to be repaired. They informed me this was something I would most likely have to pay for. 3/31- I called the body shop and asked how my windshield was my responsibility to pay for when it was working properly with the sensors prior to the wreck. The body shop told me it was a fluke and I would have to pay for it. This was a 15 minute phone conversation to understand how something that was working properly prior to them touching it was my fault. The manager Brian chuckled at me when advising I would have to pay for the windshield myself. Week of April 2nd - after getting my insurance heavily involved, they found out the body shop would be responsible for replacing the windshield and called it part of the wreck. But not only did the body shop finally take responsibility admitting it was part of the wreck, they tacked on an additional 25% fee for "installing" the windshield even through the Volvo dealership was the one doing it. 4/11- I finally got my car back after it being in the shop for 11 weeks. I will NEVER trust this body shop again. Update - I emailed the company representative below and received no response. Again, be mindful about the companies you work with. read more

Good attitude, if you have disagreement with them, they will try their best to reach your satisfaction. Even though it takes time to fix the vehicle, but you should excuse them, cuz it took most of time for the parts to ship to their place.
