    Tuscan arrabbiata pasta

I was pleasantly surprised by the flavor and quality of our meal. We got the caprese piadine, Tuscan arrabbiata pasta, and the meatball appetizer. Everything was fresh and super tasty, the piadine bread was a little charred and stretchy and delicious. The arrabbiata pasta was good but not our favorite thing, it was super spicy and didn't have as much flavor as we hoped but it was still enjoyable. There were tons of other things we wanted to try on the menu, and the prices are fair for big portions, friendly service, so we will be back to try more!

I'll be honest -- the food looks good, but the overall experience didn't really land for me. The garlic bread was the highlight. Very garlicky, warm, and flavorful -- easily the best thing we had. The lemonades were also great, and the fact that refills are only $1 is a plus. For my main dish, I ordered what I believe was the Winter Pasta (pasta tossed in olive oil with sausage). The flavor itself was just okay, but there was far too much oil. I asked for extra sausage, and it came out heavily coated in oil with a fried smell that wasn't very appealing. Because of that, I barely ate it and didn't even take it to go -- I mainly stuck to the garlic bread and lemonade. What ultimately stood out in a negative way was the cleanliness. When I use a restaurant restroom, I expect it to be clean, and unfortunately that wasn't the case here. The bathroom didn't appear well-maintained -- even the toilet seat wasn't clean -- and it gave the impression that the space wasn't being regularly upkept. That lack of upkeep extended into the dining area as well. The restaurant felt rundown, with worn furniture and leather booth seating that had broken trim. Overall, the condition of the space didn't feel aligned with a well-maintained dining environment. Would I return? Probably not. Cleanliness is important to me, and between the condition of the restaurant and the food being underwhelming, it just wasn't a place I'd choose to revisit.

Well this was probably the most "meh" meal I've had in a while. - Penne Carbonara: ordered this off their "not so secret" menu. While it was okay on its own right, it's also so far from the fantastic carbonaras I've eaten in Italy that I would barely call it one. - Roasted chicken wings: got these in buffalo and kind of regret it. Didn't really hit the spot especially considering the price. Overall, the food quality felt more like at a random bar than a nice restaurant. Service was kind of slow and no complimentary bread was a letdown.

My family and I love this place and have been coming to this location for years! Their service is always the best and the food always comes out great! We always get their house made garlic rolls which comes in oil that gives it the perfect taste! I got the espresso martini which I have had before and it is one of the best espresso martinis I have had yet! For mains, I usually always get the roasted salmon which comes with alfredo pasta and cooked spinach. The salmon, pasta, and spinach in one bite taste so good which is why I keep getting it. My family loves the summer parpadelle pasta and the tuscan pasta was so flavorful!

Mini hand tossed pizza happy hour $8 pick 2 toppings

4 stars for happy hour, 3 stars overall. I've been to Tomatina less than a handful of times but we came to this location on the 4th of July before going to watch the fireworks at Great America across the street. They still offered happy hour u til 6pm even though it was a holiday, score! For happy hour almost all the cocktails are half off and there's some food choices as well. I ordered the mini pizza with a choice of two toppings for $8. For $8 it's a good deal and I like that they let you pick two of your own toppings. Also tried the sangria margarita from the happy hour menu and it was decently strong. My mom ordered the meatball sliders for $8 as well. You get 3 sliders with full size meatballs. It was also tasty. From their regular menu, my brother ordered the pasta trio and another person ordered the chicken gemelli. My niece ordered pasta with Alfredo sauce off the kids menu. Their pasta is ok, one person said the pesto and Alfredo didn't have a lot of flavor. The restaurant was clean including the bathrooms. Service was quick and helpful. If you sign up for their rewards program you get $10 off even if you sign up right at the table with the QR code. Overall not bad, I'd definitely come back for happy hour.

Food was Yummy, not sure if on this day, the AC was broke or that's just how it is, sheesh! It makes it's kinda hard to enjoy & actually taste if your food is good, if your not comfortable Service was great, from the time we walked in, got seated & waited to order & get our food. Pricing for the items, I think is so so, everything we ordered from the menu, for us was it was so good, we had No Leftovers, besides the kids food Located in a Big Plaza, with a ton of restaurants & movies, so it tends to get pretty busy All The Time & parking is always a challenge, but even if you park a little further & have to walk, why not?

1/31/26 weekend special: Crab and Artichoke ravioli
    Jose A.

I have been to Tomatina a couple of times and thought nothing more to it than an upgrade to Olive Garden that I wouldn't prefer to go if I had a choice. However on my most recent visit, they had a special which I really liked: A crab and artichoke ravioli. I also tried their Chicken Marsala. Both were really well made. The ravioli used real crab. I ordered a similar dish in The Old Spaghetti Factory in downtown and the latter's dish I could tell used canned crab. The server Jorge was warm and said that they have monthly and weekly specials. Having tasted a special and entree from here, I am already looking forward to coming back.

I love this place! The staff is great! Friendly, talkative, entertaining, the best! Even if you come by yourself, you will quickly make friends. Plus, the food is delicious! Awesome happy hour too. They offer a rewards program where you earn points. Highly recommend!

Had dinner with a group of 5 people. Considering it was really slow when we were there the service was less desirable. Had to ask for simple things like salad plates, soda refill & water. Food quality was good. We started with appetizers, a large salad to share & i ordered the pasta dish with the famous garlic rolls. My seafood pasta could have bern more flavorful. It lacked taste. We all finished up with dessert. I had the tiramisu. Very generous portion. Overall, I felt service was below standards & the food quality was just average.

    Cacciatore & Chicken Parmesan

Stopped in for a quick dinner. I had the Cacciatore pasta and had it made gluten free which is always a plus to even have as an option as a celiac! And the mrs had the chicken parmesan, Which seemed like a great hearty portion. Our waiter Hilario was very nice and welcoming. Overall the food blew us away for how laid back this place was. They also had a excellent cocktail menu. Will definitely be back.

I went in here while waiting for a friend to be ready. I saw online that it was the season for butternut squash ravioli. Yum! I arrived during happy hour but I already knew what I wanted before I arrived. It was quiet which was perfect. I'm glad I wasn't in a rush because I got my drink, salad and appetizer right away and then had to wait quite a while for my entree. The ravioli came out super hot and drenched in butter sauce. I had to wait for it to cool a bit before I could eat it. It was delicious but a little runny. I had to wait a while for the check and Togo boxes. My server suddenly forgot that I was nearly finished and wouldn't make eye contact. I finally got the attention of the hostess who made it happen. There used to be QR codes on the tables to pay, but they are no longer there. I used to love that, since it was easy to split a check with multiple people when you paid with the code. It was a good experience for the most part. I do miss the QR codes, though. A hook for my bag in the bathroom would have been be nice, too.

Toni worked with me over the phone to make it happen, and when there was a small miscommunication about the vibe I was going for, she course-corrected instantly -- not just in communication but in the actual setup. That kind of pivot is rare. The outside area was ideal for our group of roughly 60 throughout the day -- a mix of high tops, low tops, and couches that gave everyone somewhere to land. Heat lamps on when we needed them, off when we asked. Ellie and Shailyn were exceptional the entire time. You could stumble upon it through Yelp (as we did), discover it while staying at the adjacent Treehouse Hotel, or simply hear about it through word of mouth. The parking situation is an interesting one. After turning into the driveway from Mathilda Avenue, you have two options: turn right for valet parking or left into the Google parking lot. There are plenty of spaces available, though parking there is technically at your own risk. The restaurant told us they had not heard of anyone being ticketed or towed. We first dined here shortly after it opened in 2025 and were immediately impressed by the beautiful grounds. The hotel's eco-conscious gift shop, housed in a glass greenhouse and featuring a colorful vintage VW Bug, is a charming touch. The short walk to the restaurant feels especially relaxing on a warm, sunny day. This has become one of our favorite places to bring friends or host girls' lunches. With three distinct seating options: the dining room, bar, and patio, there's an atmosphere to suit just about any occasion, whether you're dining as a couple or gathering with a larger group. I would recommend visiting during lunch or dinner service and skipping the in-between hours. During that time, only the bar area is open and the menu is more limited. To fully experience what Valley Goat has to offer, lunch or dinner is the way to go. Despite the name, the only goat dish on the menu at the time of this review is the Goat Empanadas. My friend was initially hesitant to order them, but David, our wonderful server, and I encouraged her to give them a try. She was glad she did. There was no gamey flavor whatsoever; the meat tasted more like beef, and the accompanying sauce was excellent. Over several visits, we've enjoyed everything we've ordered and are delighted to have a restaurant of this caliber in our Bay Area backyard. Chef and co-owner Stephanie Izard, winner of Season 4 of Top Chef and an Iron Chef title, owns a total of nine restaurants, primarily in the Chicago area, along with locations in Los Angeles and one at Orlando International Airport. Since we enjoy traveling for great food, we'll definitely be adding some of her other restaurants to our list.

TL;DR Great food, really disappointing service…read more Valley Goat is a lovely spot in Sunnyvale, with food that beautifully marries what I love about Stephanie Izard's Chicago food (flavorful, interesting, bold but approachable), with the freshness of California's amazing farms and farmers. Maybe we had lunch on an off day, but my dish came out thirty minutes (not joking) before my guests dish. If I'm making a generous guess, the server maybe didn't have the kitchen fire all dishes at once and coursed my guest's dish for a "second course." But all this is avoidable, and made for a very long and uncomfortable meal. To top it off, we spent ten minutes trying to track down our server to get the bill because -- after a two hour lunch of only three small plates -- my guest was now late to her next appointment. I want to go back to give it another shot. But I am bummed: Girl and the Goat is one of my favorite restaurants and was looking forward to having a goat closer to home.
