I have been to a different location before and they carry the same flavor. This location is fantastic. It's near a ton of other restaurants and businesses. Tomatina shares its parking lot with the movie theater so while parking shouldn't be too much of an issue, this parking lot does get very busy. It's also a 10-15 minute walk away from the stadium and is a great place to grab a bite to eat before you head over for an event. The staff here is friendly and knowledgeable of the menu. Our server came by multiple times to check in on us even during the peak rush of customers. The flavor was absolutely splendid. The garlic bread with marinara sauce and oil is finger licking food. The pasta was also delicious. The sauce tasted fresh and the noodles almost had a hand make quality to them. The pizza stole the show for me. You can taste the wood that helped cook the crust. The pepperoni and meatballs on the pizza complimented the dough well. We ordered a lot of food before heading out for our concert and the food came out relatively quickly. I'd say we weren't waiting for more than 15 minutes. The prices are about average for what you'd expect from a Bay Area restaurant in 2026. We had a wonderful meal at Tomatina in the Mercado Santa Clara shopping center. The hostess is always so kind and sweet--she remembers my son and me whenever we visit. We were seated immediately, our waitress was lovely and attentive, and all of our food arrived promptly. The only uncomfortable part was a large group seated behind us who were loudly using profanity every few seconds. I was dining with my six-year-old, and it was disappointing that a group of adults showed so little consideration for the families around them. When I quietly mentioned it to the hostess, she handled the situation with such grace and immediately moved us to another table. I'll be honest -- the food looks good, but the overall experience didn't really land for me. The garlic bread was the highlight. Very garlicky, warm, and flavorful -- easily the best thing we had. The lemonades were also great, and the fact that refills are only $1 is a plus. For my main dish, I ordered what I believe was the Winter Pasta (pasta tossed in olive oil with sausage). The flavor itself was just okay, but there was far too much oil. I asked for extra sausage, and it came out heavily coated in oil with a fried smell that wasn't very appealing. Because of that, I barely ate it and didn't even take it to go -- I mainly stuck to the garlic bread and lemonade. What ultimately stood out in a negative way was the cleanliness. When I use a restaurant restroom, I expect it to be clean, and unfortunately that wasn't the case here. The bathroom didn't appear well-maintained -- even the toilet seat wasn't clean -- and it gave the impression that the space wasn't being regularly upkept. That lack of upkeep extended into the dining area as well. The restaurant felt rundown, with worn furniture and leather booth seating that had broken trim. Overall, the condition of the space didn't feel aligned with a well-maintained dining environment. Would I return? Probably not. Cleanliness is important to me, and between the condition of the restaurant and the food being underwhelming, it just wasn't a place I'd choose to revisit. read more

Came here with my family a little bit ago. We got the meat lovers pizza (large) and wow yes it was huge and definitely had a lot of meat on it! I also got a caprese salad for myself. It was good but I think the ratio was off since they used small tomatoes instead of slices of tomato with the mozzarella, so I ended with more mozzarella than tomatoes. But tasty nonetheless! The only thing was that it wasn't super busy but our waiter took a bit of time to take our order and kept passing by us multiple times but not saying anything or even a "I'll be with you all in a minute!" My family and I love this place and have been coming to this location for years! Their service is always the best and the food always comes out great! We always get their house made garlic rolls which comes in oil that gives it the perfect taste! I got the espresso martini which I have had before and it is one of the best espresso martinis I have had yet! I've been to Tomatina less than a handful of times but we came to this location on the 4th of July before going to watch the fireworks at Great America across the street. They still offered happy hour u til 6pm even though it was a holiday, score! For happy hour almost all the cocktails are half off and there's some food choices as well. I ordered the mini pizza with a choice of two toppings for $8. For $8 it's a good deal and I like that they let you pick two of your own toppings. Also tried the sangria margarita from the happy hour menu and it was decently strong. My mom ordered the meatball sliders for $8 as well. You get 3 sliders with full size meatballs. It was also tasty. From their regular menu, my brother ordered the pasta trio and another person ordered the chicken gemelli. My niece ordered pasta with Alfredo sauce off the kids menu. Their pasta is ok, one person said the pesto and Alfredo didn't have a lot of flavor. The restaurant was clean including the bathrooms. Service was quick and helpful. I was pleasantly surprised by the flavor and quality of our meal. We got the caprese piadine, Tuscan arrabbiata pasta, and the meatball appetizer. Everything was fresh and super tasty, the piadine bread was a little charred and stretchy and delicious. However on my most recent visit, they had a special which I really liked: A crab and artichoke ravioli. I also tried their Chicken Marsala. Both were really well made. The ravioli used real crab. Two plates came out extremely salty to which the server said they do not add additional salt so they could not remake it and to choose something else on their menu. My brother ended up having to order a more expensive item since there aren't many marinara sauce options. The Happy Hour prices are excellent. I had a frozen Peach Bellini for $6.00. It wasn't one of the best ones that I've had, because the peach flavor didn't taste fresh, but it had a Luxardo cherry which was impressive and the right amount of Prosecco. Our pizza was too dry for me to eat it. I would have liked it if it had more sauce and a lot more cheese OR wasn't cooked so long, which dried out the sauce and cheese. The Italian sausage was very good though, and there was a very generous amount. (It was just like when you bring home a good pizza, but try to heat it up in the oven the next day and it gets overcooked & dry.) Fortunately, I had ordered a Caesar salad which was fantastic!
