Too much time has gone by, but I had a hankering for Indian pizza, and I happily gave in. I last reviewed Bay Area pizza two or three years ago. Places come and go since Covid but I am glad to see this place is still here. We wanted a little variety and my wife grew up in Haryana while my family comes from the Lucknow area so we got the Haryana and Lucknow pizzas :-) The Haryana aka malai paneer is nicely spiced, but not spicy hot. Paneer is a thick cheese with a texture that can be chewy if not something you are used to. Try it and decide. They have other cheese to choose from. The Lucknow aka desi chaat is a chaat mix which includes potatoes. I was fine with that, but I might substitute next time. The pizzas arrived with a very lovely appearance as you can see from the picture. I ordered online and went to pick it up and it was ready quite promptly A nice little bonus is that I got some frequent flyer points from my AA dining club. No guarantee that they will still be participating when you visit, but I hope they still are when I come by next time. PS. Not the same as it used to be. The quality has definitely dropped. Tonight the service dropped as well. I ordered a meatball pasta and some samosas at 947pm. I was told 20-25 minutes. I got there at 1023pm and was told 5 more minutes. I could tell that they either started it late or flat out forgot. At 1035pm after seeing 4 people pick up their orders I left. I was really excited to try this new pizza place. I recently moved to Santa Clara, and this is literally down the street for me. I ordered a veggie pizza and it was ready in twenty minutes for pick up. I got home and opened my box up. They did a lovely job of putting quite a bit of veggies! The crust and the base were perfectly cooked. However, after taking my first bite, I realized there was barely any cheese on my pizza. I'm not sure if this was a one off but the cheese was so little that I was basically eating veggies, crust, and tomatoes. I actually added my own cheese on top, and that helped. I even looked back at my order and checked that I didn't request less cheese or anything- but I ordered it all normal. Here is my two cents on the quality quantity and price of my calzone.. it actually arrived early than expected my GrubHub! I ordered just a simple cheese filled canzone . It was medium size approximately 12 inches.. it had lots of cheese and tasted just like a regular calzone .But I didn't realize it also goes under the name of Roman pizza oven.oven... and basically this is just a chain of places.. It was just a plain simple calzone nothing special whatsoever... even though I ask, I did not receive any napkins, hot , or anything else.. I had some type of coupon so the price of this came to $16 altogether, including my delivery charges.. it tasted fine lots of and they gave a cold side cup pre-package sauce.. I was craving some indian pizza and ordered doordash from here. When we went to pick up, it was pretty empty for weekend night, which makes me think that most people order takeout from here We ordered a large with half kashmir (chili chicken) and half new delhi (tandoori chicken). Both had very unique flavors. Kashmir had a strong sweet and spicy sauce which everyone may not enjoy, but the chili chicken itself is very flavorful. Another takeout order: 10/10 Paneer Tikka Pasta $12.99 - surprisingly the best thing I had here for a pizza place. Wished I had a pic but it was super saucy and good portion size for everything (paneer, sauce, and pasta)The tikka sauce was on point and coated the penne pasta super well. No additional seasonings needed besides chili flakes because I like it spicy! If they could make the sauce spicy as well that would da bomb! I will never be coming back here. I walked in asking for garlic cheese bread, and the employee informed me that they don't have any without jalapeños and purple onion. I mentioned that they do offer garlic cheese bread with just cheese. He proceeded to tell me that garlic sticks are something different, and I thought he was referring to mozzarella sticks. So, I said, "Okay, give me that." I waited while on my lunch break for a sandwich roll cut in half with jalapeños. When I received my order, I asked, "What is this?" Another employee told me that I should have ordered the sticks. I pointed out that I had been discussing this with the first employee for five minutes. He just shrugged and said, "Maybe next time." I could understand if I had walked in and ordered something without asking any questions, but that wasn't the case. I should have just left it on the counter; it was horrible. We got the Bombay Pizza (Paneer Tikka Masala Pizza) with cauliflower crust (only available in medium size). Food was delivered timely. The medium size was good enough for two people. The pizza tasted great. One thing I appreciate: lots of condiments on the pizza (green onion, cilantro, ginger, garlic, red onion, and mushroom) gave it very rich layered flavors. One thing that surprised me: I typically don't like minced ginger in my food, but I was totally fine with the ginger in this pizza! BAY BRIDGE veggie pizza is good although next time I'll ask for no onions because of my personal preference. They use red (purple) onions. Thin crust. They tend to go light on the cheese. I like they cooked the pizza well enough. Sometimes veggie pizzas can be soggy if not cooked right but theirs was good. BREAD Also their rendition of garlic bread is more like bread topped with cheese, I think some butter, jalapeños, and lots of chopped red onions. OVERALL calling in was a little difficult to understand because of an accent and loud noise in the background. When I arrived to pick up the pizza there was a line out the door. Moving to Santa Clara has been blissful since I'm surrounded by all these wonderful eateries, including Bay Area Pizza which is like a 5 min walk from my apartment After drooling over their menu, I went a lil overboard and ordered the Chennai Express (chicken Tikka pizza), the 49ers (bbq chicken pizza) and Indian Style garlic bread. (I also ordered mozzarella sticks which were subpar in taste but I'll let that slide) Now, the real review: Chennai Express: Fresh, flavorful, and delicious till the last bite (I mean crust)! Indian style pizza might be my new favorite pizza! 49ers: good meat to sauce ratio, not as flavorful as the former, but delicious nonetheless Garlic bread: more like naan than the garlic bread we might be used to, but it was a good side-dish. I placed my order over the phone & picked it up in person. Customer service was prompt & courteous. The eatery had a decent parking lot and were following good health precautions during this quarantine for customers picking up their orders. Will I go back and order again? You betcha! Yelp brought us to this somewhat new pizza place which features several Indian recipe pizzas. Pizza just isn't Italian anymore. Indian pizzas are really good. Their pizza is packed with toppings. The Bombay pizza is deliciously spicy and not for those with a low spice tolerance. The Shark, other than having a cool name, is loaded up with an abundance of excellent flavored meat. They use a medium crust which works for me. Cheap bottled beer and wine is available so coming in and enjoying the pie right out of the oven is preferred over take out. The guy running the place was straight up a good guy too. After choking down so many bad pizzas in the Bay Area it is great to find a winner. read more

I've eaten at most of the Indian Pizza shops in the Bay Area and while the pizza here was good, it was pretty subpar compared to the other places I've been to. Where this place mainly falls short is the flavor. It definitely needs more spices and more flavor! The sauce shouldn't be a watered-down version of the actual curry. The Kashmir pizza I ate had the essence of the actual dish, but if I had the sauce alone, it'd be lacking in depth. Another complaint was that the crust was too flimsy and pale on the bottom. I suggest heating up the pizza stone and oven more before putting the pizza on so the crust at the bottom crisps up more. Besides that, I had no problems with the customer service and I did enjoy the pizza even though it wasn't the best I've had. I like how they didn't skimp on the toppings. read more

I was helping my sister move into her new apartment and we noticed a pizza place across the street with a sign that said "grand opening" so after we were done, we ate here. Promising new pizza place with excellent pizzas, reasonably priced. I tried the Tandoori Paneer (cottage cheese) pizza, which for $7.99 was delicious and worth a lot more! I preferred for pickup on Grubhub and the pizza was ready before time. I ate 25 mins later and it did not turn soggy. The crust was crisp and the paneer was flavorful and juicy. I ordered two Indian pizzas from Bay Area Pizza over the weekend and couldn't have asked for more. I have been liking Indian pizzas over traditional pizzas lately as they are less greasy and less filling. From here, I ordered a medium Bombay Pizza and a medium Tandoori Paneer pizza without cheese. I called ahead in advance to place my order and said I would be able to pick up the pizza in around an hour or so. The pizzas were waiting for me as soon as I arrived. I believe the owner was there when I arrived and he was very friendly and made sure I had everything I needed. As for the taste of the pizzas, they were excellent. The Bombay pizza was spicy, but was not overwhelmingly spicy like some Indian food can be. The Tandoori Paneer pizza was my favorite. We went here today and the pros were that I am happy to see some unique pizza flavor offerings. The downside is that we were charged extra $2.99 for vegan cheese. There was NO mention of the extra charge on the menu nor did they tell us when we placed our order. The vegan pizza was so-so., and very expensive for a small pizza you would expect something exceptional. If you are vegan you are better off going to Mod Pizza for $8 unlimited toppings (with no hidden/extra) charges. The crust was a bit burnt and overcooked--crunchy but not in a good way. That said, I enjoyed the pizza I got, the Chicken Tikka Masala. The tikka masala sauce was non existent though so if you ordering this make sure you ask for extra sauce (and double check there is no extra charge). We paid $33 for one personal size pizza, one small pizza with vegan cheese with 2 toppings & one soda. read more
