Gone are the white tablecloths that used to grace the tables at other locations. We came here at 6 PM on Father's Day without a reservation, but were immediately seated. This is the kind of place you would go to for Father's Day as it's kind of place to go to for a business lunch or a business dinner. The staff here is very good in terms of level of service and knowledge of the menu and making you comfortable. Really the only reason I am giving three stars rather than something higher is because I don't think they do a good job with their pasta dishes. I had the spaghetti Pomodoro with Italian sausage added (upcharge), and there was almost no Italian sausage in the dish. And the noodles were a sticky mass. I believe you are better advised to order from the grill as my dinner mate's rosemary chicken looked very good and he ate it all. My wife is vegetarian and there is almost nothing hot for her to eat apart from the disappointing spaghetti pomodoro or the grilled zucchini. There are also some pizzas. The beet salad was excellent as was the Caprese salad and the minestrone soup. I had the Volo cocktail which is their version of a Paper Plane. Another dinner mate had the Sorrento King which comes under glass with smoke. My drink was good, but hers was better. It has been probably 15 or 20 years since ate at one of their locations and I don't think I'll be back without a protest. They have their target market, but I realize I am not part of it. The pasta was cooked beautifully, and the meat sauce was rich, hearty, and packed with flavor. Burrata con Prosciutto - burata was a bit watery, not the rich and creamy kind. Prosciutto with arugula and grilled ciabatta was my favorite. Bread was great especially the sourdough, love the crunchy crust and soft bread. We tried the Tuesday trio pasta, all three types of pastas were in room temperature when served. They're just meh. Seafood pasta was awesome , the shrimps were huge and fresh. INSALATA DI PERE (salad) was great, love the roasted pears, lettuces, red grapes and the candied pecans. Always wanted to visit this restaurant and got a chance yesterday. The ambiance was pretty decent with loads of roses specially for Valentine's Day. Ordered two cocktails - old fashioned was pretty standard and then the sorrento was pretty nice with a lot of smoke. For food, gnocchi was pretty decent, CAPRICCIOSA pizza was good too, they removed meat as per the request. Spaghetti pasta was flavorful too. We've been to other locations for Il Fornaio, and this one compared well. Wilmer was our very attentive server for a Tuesday night birthday date night. The interior is very impressive overall, and we watched as other servers carefully prepped a long table near ours for a large party yet to arrive. Everything was quite clean. I started with my favorite cocktail, a Sorrento King, with the fun smoke. It definitely imparts a smoky flavor, so be prepared. I ordered a Caesar salad and linguine mare, with shrimp, mussels and scallops. All of my food was well prepared, and Wilmer was right there with the parmesan. The Wife had gnocchi alla Sorrentina, which comes out extremely hot. Again, very well cooked. The Il Fornaio chianti is quite decent as well. For dessert, I had the cannoli plus cappuccino, while The Wife had chocolate hazelnut gelato. The cannoli was so-so, as I prefer larger shells with an abundance of filling. The gelato had crystals, indicating either overchurning, or having been thawed and refrozen. We pointed that out to Wilmer, who offered alternatives, and removed the dessert from the check. The updated check came in a sleeve that asked for personal information to connect with the restaurant, but rather than being blank, it was already filled out by another party. We rented the back space for a company event. It was a fixed menu. The beet salad was excellent and salmon was super tasty and the tiramisu was very moist. Walked in on a Saturday evening around 8pm and there was no wait. Argent was our waiter and he was great - very welcoming and attentive. We shared the fried calamari, bruschette assortite, rigatoni alla vodka, and tagliatelle bolognese. For dessert, we shared the vulcano (chocolate lava cake). The fried calamari was solid, I enjoyed the light batter which wasn't overpowering. The bruschette assortite was good but nothing too special about it in my opinion. Rigatoni alla vodka was good! I love a creamy pasta so this was enjoyable - felt like a mix of carbonara and vodka. Tagliatelle bolognese was solid too. Temperature wise, the tagliatelle bolognese was hot enough but the rigatoni was room temp and wish it were warmer. The chocolate lava cake was just alright in my opinion. My daughter and I had a lovely dinner here recently, and I thought it's high time I wrote a review. All of the dishes we've tried here over the years have been great, but their calamari and pizzas are our favorites. They have a good selection of wines, cocktails, and a few good beers on tap. On my last visit, I ordered a Henhouse Hazy IPA - it was refreshing! We ordered the Fradiavola pizza (my usual) and for my kid, I ordered the minestrone soup and one of their pastas with red sauce (Pomodoro o Bolognese). The soup and pasta were wholesome and tasty. The pizza was great as usual. We ended our meal with a delicious bowl of Gelati Misti (three different flavored scoops of Gelato) Our server, Alia, was very friendly and helpful. The food arrived quickly. We were there for almost 90 mins, and throughout the dinner, so many of the staff members came to our table to humor my kid and check in on us. Special shout out to Ethan at the reception who ushered us in and took good care of us towards the end of our meal. The food here was good overall, but honestly not quite worth the price. The minestrone soup was a bit underwhelming and needed more flavor, and I found myself adding salt and pepper to make it work. The Il Fornaio on Augustine Drive is their newest location and by far is my favorite- for the food, customer service. The ambiance of this location isn't bad but basic. We dined here in June for Father's Day and it was amazing from start to finish. We were greeted warmly by the front desk staff. We had reservations and were sat promptly. I will say our food was decent and came out well prepared and hot (when it arrived). I've been to this location several times without issue and my mom likes it, so made a reservation specifically for the patio on a Saturday to take her to lunch to celebrate Mother's Day early. When we arrived I told the host we had a reservation for the Patio. We were told they wanted to sit us indoors (without explanation) - fine, we prefer the patio, but were willing to sit in the dining room. Our waiter was pleasant and gave us plenty of time to order, but my mom's lunch never arrived, turns out he'd forgotten to enter it. When she did finally get it, it was good, but took so long she had most of it boxed to go. I didn't notice until my food arrived that the table at my seat was smeared with something that had dried solid, and the wall next to my chair was splattered with what I hope was coffee. I let the waiter know so they could tidy it for the next person. This isn't a fancy restaurant, but for the price, I expect it to at least be clean. After lunch I noticed the restaurant had left me a voicemail while we were eating, asking if I was still coming - I didn't answer the phone because I as literally seated at their restaurant at that time. I called them back to make sure they understood I had just been there, but they reported me to Open Table as a no-show. Disappointing. read more

The app came quick then the entrees took way too long. She could have acknowledged the situation but she said "the steak must be taking a long time." It's medium rare how long could it take? we went during one of the weeks they offered their taste of Italy special menu the service was great, our server was constantly checking on us if we needed anything and if everything was good. my goto is the pasta alla vodka at Il Fornaio, I really like the sauce, it's creamy and rich, more on the sweeter side. the one at this location seemed a tiny bit more on the watery side compared to other locations, but was still good. we got it with added chicken, I expected a small amount but it was a whole big piece pre-cut, already with added some added salt and flavor so not super dry, it was an extra $14 though which wasn't mentioned up front. we also got one of the special pastas. It came with a few pieces undercooked, they apologized saying the pasta was meant to be on the harder side, and went above and beyond to correct the mistake. we also got calamari, it was pretty standard. The server did ask us if we wanted bread, and we had to specifically ask if it was complimentary or not. He said it's usually an added charge, but we got some with the calamari. It came with a big glob of olive oil and balsamic vinegar. last of all for dessert, we got the tiramisu. it was so good, very moist breading packed with flavor, creamy, and not too sweet. read more

The prosciutto pizza was the favorite amongst the group and probably the best dish we had there! 10/10 recommended coming here! The only downside is the parking, we went at noon and parking was super hard to find. This place was great! My friend said it's some of the best Italian food he's ever had and I had to try it. Despite it being a Friday night we got a table for two right away. The server was attentive and friendly. My friend got 8 oz of a lovely red wine. I had a martini with a twist and when it was delivered the freshness of the lemon peel was apparent as I could smell it as soon as the cocktail was delivered. We got the cauliflower appetizer and it was flavorful and light. For our main entrees, my friend LOVED his pasta and it looked delicious. I opted for something lighter and had the salad Della casa with grilled chicken. I liked that the salad had a variety of toppings from celery to chickpeas to mushrooms and its chopped greens made it all blend together so nicely. The grilled chicken was very good there were a few bites that had heavy rosemary seasoning but having the protein on the salad with yummy. The winner of the entire meal was the Volucano. We weren't going to get dessert but decided to share and opted for the chocolate lava cake and icecream. At the first bite I thought this might be one of the best things I've ever eaten and that opinion was only solidified with each bite. When we left my friend remarked how wonderful the dessert was and I told him I thought so too! This review is for the Gamberoni e Capesante (scallops and prawns) in particular - OMG it is so good. I was expecting this place to be a typical expensive corporate lunch type of meal, but I was so impressed by my dish. The seared scallops were just fantastic with a beautiful charred flavor, and the prawns complemented it so well. It wasn't too heavy with the lobster cream sauce either, which was poured around the bed of risotto bed it was on, so you could control how much or how little of the sauce you wanted. I don't even know how they made the Prosecco Risotto rice cake, but it was an excellent base to carry the flavors of the sauce along with the proteins. Getting a little bit of everything in each bite was delicious. In addition to my entree, I enjoyed all the appetizers we ordered, particularly the bruschetta and carpaccio (which the waiter recommended)! We had the Margherita pizza and the gnocchi. Both of them were good. The pizza and the cheese were I had the pesto shrimp pizza. That was really warm and the cheese with that too was good. We went to Il Fornaio for my husband's birthday. It was a Monday evening but the restaurant was pretty crowded. Reservation was definitely a good idea. Their menu had a long list of wine and cocktails, pasta, pizza etc. We got the popular Rigatoni Alla Vodka pasta with scallops and Fradiavola pizza. The pasta was super creamy. The extra scallops we added were surprisingly fresh and sweet. The pizza was thin, crispy. The topping was generous. For dessert, we ordered a Napoleon and asked our waiter Argent if they could write "Happy Birthday" on the plate. Our waiter Argent was super kind and went extra and beyond to serve us a free dessert (it was ice cream in a cup). Both desserts came with candles too. We loved the Napoleon pastry! It was super crispy. The creams inside were not too sweet and had a slight tangy taste that was very refreshing. The decorations inside were modern. There was plenty of seating for both large and small groups. It was a great birthday dinner for my husband. We'll definitely come back for special occasions! read more
