Went around 10:30 PM with some coworkers after work and we were a party of 7 so we did not get sat until a little after 11 the building is very small. We sat around the bar. It was almost last call so we felt little rushed but food came out quick and we were all full and satisfied. There was even a couple people that came after us for take out and dine in so it's a good place for a late night ramen fix! They do last call around 11:15 which is 45 minutes before closing but overall good experience. I try to not eat meat so I was looking forward to their cheese ramen but they didn't have it. Love the vibe inside of this restaurant, feels warm and welcoming especially since it's been so cold lately with all the rain. The glowing letter light decorations are fun. But the food is amazing, really yummy Tsukemen Dip ramen! I like that you can switch for the chicken chashu too if that's your mood or preference. The gyoza is juicy and a nice side appetizer, or we sometimes like the chicken karaage with curry mayo sauce. Even the new plant-based meat bun is tasty. They also do fun new menu stuff like a limited number of only 5 bowls of Garlic Shoyu Tonkotsu a day. In our many ventures here the customer service is always friendly, and polite. This was actually some pretty tasty ramen and you don't have to drive to LA to have it. It's a tiny spot with bar style seating. Food: i ordered the Spicy Miso Ramen ( $13.50) and i had to pay an additional charge for toppings. Typically the ramen spots I've been to, the ramen comes with an egg ($2) and bean sprouts ($1.50) already included, but with this spot you had to pay a little bit extra for the toppings. It wasn't an issue, but just so you're aware. They also have options for those who do not eat red meat or pork which was a plus. My lady ordered the Miso Ramen ($12.50) and that comes with chicken broth and she subbed out the pork for chicken. I love my pork, but her ramen was still pretty tasty. Appetizer: The Karraage Chicken and aioli dipping sauce was pretty darn tasty! I've recently moved into the area and this ramen restaurant has caught my attention. I have been in here a couple of times, and with no doubt this is some of the best ramen I have ever tried. Staff is very friendly & helpful; they have given me the best recommendations!! My only concern is the maintenance. I have witnessed this twice already and I'm not sure how to feel about it. The first time I saw a cockroach under the bar and I tried to ignore it & not think much about it for the door is always getting opened and flies and other bugs do come in. LOL -Tsukemen- noodles were perfectly thick and chewy, while also absorbing the rich and tasty broth. When I first found this place it was on complete accident. However, with that being said this was on of the best accidents that has happened to me. I wasn't expecting much from this place from the outside but as soon as I stepped inside everything was absolutely phenomenal. The atmosphere was great with everything from the interior to the music being played being on point. The food was on a whole other level than what I've had in Torrance. Most ramen places in Torrance will satisfy that craving for ramen but Tomizo is a bit different. Tomizo will not only satisfy that craving but will have you thinking about their ramen for days on end. I usually like to try places multiple times to make sure they are consistent before I write a review. And I can with 100% certainty that this place will be on top of it's game every single time. The noodles are the perfect texture between soft and chewy with a rich flavorful broth to complement the noodles. The addition of their egg that's perfectly yolky is just absolutely delicious and to top it all off is their pork that is so tender and flavorful. To bring everything together is the staff. They're all very friendly and will help you pick and choose what you want your exact meal to look like. I took my family to Tomizo Ramen because it was cold, windy, and I didn't want to drive to Sawtelle for dipping noodles. We arrived at 5:00pm, but they open at 5:30pm on Sundays. It was worth the wait. My girlfriend and her son ordered the spicy dipping noodles with a spicy level 5 and level 3. They both throughly enjoyed the extra spicy, ginger and fried garlic as extra ingredient's . The give large portions of noodles and a lime to add flavor. I ordered the miso ramen and my noodles were delicious with egg, ginger and fried garlic. This place is a hidden gem. It's very small, but if you arrive early, you might get a seat. We ordered online through Yelp for takeout - ordering was easy and we ended up calling the place to see if our order was ready. The woman on the phone was really polite. Nothing spilled, and I really loved the containers the soup and noodles were in! I got their Spicy Miso Ramen ($14.50) and my husband got the Asahikawa Shoyu Ramen ($12.50). If you want to add extra toppings, they range from $1.50 to $3 depending on what you want. We went with one extra egg, which was $2. We also got one extra noodle, which was $2. The Spicy Miso was not good. It had this weird flavor that left a bitter aftertaste in my mouth. It did have spice to it, but the broth wasn't very flavorful overall. It was also pretty salty. Even the boiled egg that came with my ramen was too salty. I ended up eating half of it and throwing the other half away. The Asahikawa on the other hand was really good. It was very light in shoyu flavor, tiny bit sweet, not too salty, just a perfect balance. I only tried a little bit, but regretted not getting that instead. First time dining at Tomizo Ramen on Sunday, 9/11/22 and the experience was good! We arrived early as we heard there is limited seating. We sat at the counter as there were only 2 tables, we were fine at the counter. We ordered 1 miso ramen, a spicy miso ramen, beef curry ramen, karaage bowl and 2 gyozas. We enjoyed the ramens and we especially liked the texture of the noodles. I personally thought the broth was too salty for my taste but loved the firmness of the noodles. I also wished they put more broth as it was a bit on the low side of soup. The pork was tender and all the veggies were good. Hubby enjoyed the beef curry ramen. The beef was tender. It was literally curry on top of noodles. He seemed to enjoy it as well. Now onto The chicken karaage! The karaage bowl was really good! My son enjoyed the chicken. We asked for the mayo on the side for him. The chicken had a nice crisp on the outside and moist inside. The chicken had a really good flavor too. The star of the show were the gyozas! Loved them! They were perfectly cooked. Nice flavor and the size of the gyoza was perfect. We read they were home made so that's even more special. The place was nice and clean. Staff were friendly and attentive. This spot used to be Harry's Hawaiian food on Artesia. We loved Harry's and miss it so much. Tomizo is a good replacement. Parking available. Tomizo is a few blocks down from me and it's a great ramen spot that's open late in Torrance. I usually come here when everything else is closed down and it's a great treat because the food here is pretty amazing too. The inside is pretty tidy -- just a few tables and a counter to accommodate maybe 15 people or so. The interior is well kept and the servers are all nice. Here are a few things I love eating here. - Chicken Karaage: The pieces are the big, tender, and juicy. One order could easily fill me up if I had a bowl of rice and a cold glass of beer. The exterior is super crunchy and it has a nice and savory flavor profile that works really well for Karaage. - Hokkaido butter corn scallop miso ramen: This has a rich miso broth that has a great seafood flavor from the scallop, which is pretty rare for a ramen in this area. It's very unique and I absolutely love the sweet crunch from the butter corn as well. The noodle is not too thin, not too thick, and has a great chewiness to it.
