I think it was called Moda at one time but noticed the name was different now. I walked in and was surprised with how small the salon was. From the outside, it gives the illusion that it's bigger. I think 4 or 5 massage pedicure chairs and 2 manicure stations. Everyone was getting pedicures. I asked for a fill and was seated right away. My tech started with the usual routine. I was getting a little worried because she was filing down so much. But I went with it. She was working fast and that also made me worried. I felt like she was just trying to get me over and done with. We finally get to the color. I was choosing between red and a pink and told her I wasn't sure which one. And then she just went off. In a good way. She said 'red for Valentine's day'. She skipped over painting my ring fingers and I was wondering what she was going to do. She just decided to give me a pail pink color with a design that I didn't ask for. But you know what...I'm not mad about it!!! Check out the pics of my nails. Reasons why I'm giving this place a 20/10: - Was seated at 12:30pm and was done at 12:58pm. Under 30 minutes?! Unheard of. The reason she was working fast is because she's just that good. - The filing down that she was doing gave my nails a thin and smooth look. Making my nails look so natural. - The design would be nothing I would get because I think I'm too old for things like that now lol but... I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE MY NAILS!!! - $40 for the best fill I've ever gotten. So worth it. Her name is Lee Be patient. It's a small salon and they want to accommodate you. I have found my nail tech. All thanks to a careless nail technician at essence nail in Irvine. My nail beds were so sensitive and painful that I did not want anyone touching them. My colleague recommended Zu and that is how I got to find out about her business. I booked a spot several weeks in advance and was counting down the days to get my nails fixed. Zu went above and beyond my expectations. My cuticles have never looked this good and I love how my hard gel turned out (first time trying out this material after years of getting gel-xtension). I've gone to 3 different nail salons for builder Gel nails. I do a lot of weightlifting and am not as gentle with my hands. This time around, the gel builder feels strong and well build. Lin did an AMAZING job and listened to my concerns. She also listened to how I wanted my nails to look - made a super adorable design and reassured me they will last more than 2-3 weeks I'm hopeful about these nails. I didn't rate a 5 star since I just had them done and want to see if they do last as long as mentioned. It was very easy to be seen on the same day. They were quick and efficient. Already made an appt to return for the refill. I'm hopeful. So far love this place. Will be coming back.

Also any other salon I've been to, they never actually give you a manicure (cleaning cuticles or even massaging with lotion) when you get gel builder but here at Red, I never even need to ask! Not only is the salon clean & organized, but the vibe is pleasant and relaxing, even when I've had to bring my children along with me (the staff are all so incredibly sweet to them & always ask about them when I come alone).
