The owner charged my elderly dad $220 for two cartons of cigarettes! Didn't give my dad a receipt! I called back the next day and asked what a carton sells for (same name and brand), the other manager said $89 plus tax!! Should have been $194. Owner didn't call me back. Went down twice! Disgusting crook!! I will NEVER return there or to his pet store on the other corner! I've heard from several people That have been ripped off by the owner! Taking advantage of my elderly dad and ripping him off. Made no effort to apologize or explain the $26 additional charge! Stay away from both sites!! read more

Locally owned Kwik-E-Mart with a very decent beer/wine/cider selection and cigarette selection. The prices on the smokes really ARE the lowest in town, plus Albert (owner) takes all mobile app & paper coupons. Tommy's is only 0.5 miles from Cherry (Bixby) park/Rite Aid. It's a small distance to go for better service, prices at one of our awesome independent shops. read more

This liquor store is a hidden gem! It doesn't look like much from the outside but the inside is a whole different story. The variety of alcohol they have is awesome! All different types of beers you could imagine. They sell them in the pack or singularly. The prices are reasonable and the staff is friendly. All in all a great neighborhood liquor store. read more

Horrible access point for ups!! Went to pick up package and showed the woman my ID and UPS app saying package had been delivered. She pulls out a hand written list with peoples names on it and after a short skim through tells me the package isn't there. Recommends I check back in the morning. I reply with pleas check your list again since UPS scan shows it was delivered. Again says name isn't on the list and check back in the morning. Then another man walks behind the counter and asks what's going on. She points to the ground at her feet ( the packages were all at her feet but she couldn't be bothered to physically look just in case someone earlier didn't log the package on the stupid list) and asks if he sees a package with my name. In about 10 seconds he says, "yeah it's right here"! Instead of apologizing or at least acknowledging the mistake, she mumbles about someone didn't log it in and then hands me the package. I ask if we are done and she just says "yep"!! I never asked for UPS to re-route to an access point and luckily it wasn't a package that was time critical. I can only imagine what others have gone through with this gem of a lady! Hope UPS reads some of these complaints. read more

LADIES SHOULD AVOID THIS STORE!!! I have been going to Tommy's for the last few years but was very disappointed and appalled that they let other customers harass the female customers. My GF went there and has been there on her own often, Sunday night, there were a group of guys hanging out in the back with wine and the Guys working there sent her to back room alone knowing 3 guys were there. Those guys proceeded to harass her and stare her down and made at least three rude sexual comments or innuendos to her and she quickly left that area. She asked for another items and the "nice guys there" told her she can find the item in the back room and tried to send her back to the same "BACK" room where the scumbags were. To the stores benefit, they went to get the items for her but it was very clear they knew the guys were back there and allowed them to hoover over the women. I know this store well and will never shop there again. I also know they have one guy always on the floor to help customers and they need to wake up or hire security before someone gets hurts. I called and confronted the issue and the guy who answered said the woman was not harassed, I wonder if they would feel the same if, it was their mom, daughter of GF and blow it off. I know who answered. Maybe the next time I go in there I will NOT harass the lil Mexican gal that works there and will talk to her in degrading and look her up and down behind the counter. My girlfriend took me here when I 1st came to LB. I Love to shop at Locally owned & operates neighborhood stores. Even when prices are a bit higher. The Surprise was that many staple items are NOT higher here. Albert that runs the store every night, is a Saint! Great Prices HUGE SELECTION OF ITEMS for a small store. He cares about his customers & remembers what they shop for. If U need something he doesn't have, he probably can get it! AND During the day he runs the Pet Partners & Grooming place a few doors down, when our 2 cats became very ill & we put them on a Raw food diet cuz they wudnt eat anything:( Albert was kind enuff to get samples from the distributor to help us nourish them with anything they wud eat. Albert even sent one of his Tommy's employee's down to open up the store & get us the special food AFTER the pet store was closed! read more

It's 7am on a Saturday. You wake up with a fever, and you're out of cold medicine and liquor. What's a girl to do? I call Tommy's and pray that they are open already. Yes! They are. I ask the man if they have theraflu. He does, and proceeds to tell me every flavor they have and what they all do. I say "I'll be there in five minutes!". Five minutes later I walk into Tommy's. I get my theraflu, along with some OJ, and chicken soup. I didn't buy the vodka. I walk to the counter and the guy says "You don't look so sick!" Ahh. I laugh and say, "It's 7am on a Saturday. I'm sick." He laughs and hands me my bag of goodies. For all you fellow LB alcoholics, Tommy's has a FANTASTIC selection of liquor, soda, juice, vitawater, soup, shampoo, random household items, Jesus candles, lurking men just outside the door, beer, candy, the list goes on. They have an ATM, are open 6am-11pm M-F and 6am-1am Sat-Sun. read more

Like any new resident to a neighborhood, you immediately must find your walking distance essentials. A liquor store is definitely on the top of that list. However, walking down Cerritos towards Broadway, I reached a fork in liquor road. Tommy's veers ahead on my left, it's opponent, is on my right. I was drawn to Tommy's because of the welcoming sign, so I went there first. I walked in and asked 2 important questions: Andrya "do you take atm?" Tommy "Yep!" (mmmhmm....well played sir.) I have been stopping at Tommy's off and on for the past 8 years or so, and whithin the past year and a half, probably 4 times a week. Most employees knew what my smokes were, I was always polite, never marked up the floor with my bicycle, everything was good. Until today. Today, I was told I could not bring my bicycle in. What? I am to leave it on Broadway while it takes less than a minute to get my smokes, but enough time for my bicycle to be stolen, which is a major problem in the area. I told them I wasn't going to do that and if you enforce this new rule (I was in 3 days earlier) you will never see me in Tommy's again. He did not care. F-U. So, from a no longer loyal customer... may you continue to make your money off the drunk and homeless that keeps this area of Long Beach not so nice. read more

Not only is the location of this liquor store superb (considering it's right around the corner), but you can't complain about the selection either. The gentlemen who work there (I am assuming they are the owners?) are always super helpful when it comes to picking something out. I have only recently begun to sample beer (anything except IPAs), so when I come here I'm always asking questions. Especially since my boyfriend almost exclusively drinks IPAs only, I am always looking for help picking out a good one. They have never disappointed. They also carry a limited selection of groceries and produce at an escalated price, but you are paying for the convenience. Sometimes you just need cheese slices, a fifth of vodka, and some tomatoes. Am I right?? Also, they have an excellent selection of ice creams, almost a dollar cheaper than the 7/11 on the corner of Orange and Broadway. The customer service at this place is horrible. We sent a coworker to buy several bottles of wine as gifts. Literally 5-10 minutes after our purchase we had a change of heart on the type of wine - we wanted to return the bottles and opt for more expensive bottles. The store refused to let us return or exchange our purchase even though they don't have any signage in the store that says "all sales final" or any details about their return policy (or lack thereof). The store employees made my coworker walk to the pet store a few doors down to talk to the shop owner. He was rude to my coworker. When I called to reason with him he hung up on me without offering any explanation. The sad thing is that I'd love to support smaller mom & pop shops but stores like this that are unwilling to work with customers make it increasingly difficult. Additionally we would have wound up spending even more money at this shop than we originally did - but the owner has forced us to shop elsewhere. read more

Horrible pick up place for ups access point! They have accepted my package as ruined, damaged and torn, and inside the box, my $800 replacement phone was missing! They are very fishy and I also confirmed with my neighbor that her watches which were delivered to this store were missing as well! DO NOT SHOP AT THIS PLACE!!! read more

Ask for a receipt and pay attention to the price on the cash register. The owner and employees REGULARLY adds EXTRA $$$ to the total cost AFTER the register calculates and adds taxes to the item price. Today, after I saw the total cost on the cash register and when I looked away to get money out of my wallet, the employee added an additional $1.10 to my total. Tommy does this frequently. read more

They have most everything I want from a neighborhood liquor store (Arrogant Bastard and Joose). Only 2 complaints - prices aren't the greatest around and they close at 11. Don't blink. You'll miss it. It's a hole-in-the-wall, between a laundrymat and some little place that I think sells shirts. Everyone around here calls it "Tommy's". It's an everything store - canned goods, dry goods, vegetables, great selection of booze and beer and they'll stock anything you ask for (if they don't already). The guy who owns Pet Partners, a block down Broadway, owns this place and you can find him at either store at any hour. It's a block away from me so I go there when I need something I forgot - and they always have it! Best price for Stella in Long Beach too. read more

The prices and selection is the same as any other liquor store in LA. Prices are a lot higher than any other type of store and the selection is slightly better. They also have a small market of iffy produce. I used to go to Tommy's frequently but now I refuse to go to this store. They mis-labeled two bottles of champagne as $35 each instead of $80. I wasn't aware of this. I bought them and left. The next time I went into the store to buy liquor, the clerk charged me an extra $90 because of their mistake. I haven't gone back since then and I actively avoid Tommy's On Broadway. There are other liquor stores nearby that aren't run by a-holes. I hope they go out of business. read more

They sold me a bottle of champagne and it was around 60 dollars and it was sour, I brought the whole bottle back and they would not give me my money back. They called the manager and told me I had to wait an hour to talk to him. i still have not got a credit or a phone call. Do not buy any champagne because they do not monitor how old it or how long it has been on the shelf. read more

Maybe this is too much to ask for Long Beach, but I called... They don't deliver, they don't know if they have the specific beer I am asking for, but "You can come and take a look... We have a great selection of beer" and then I get Hung up on. They are lucky they are getting 1 star. The only place downtown you should buy cigarettes or beer and if they don't carry it ? Well you an just ask Albert or one of his super friendly staff and they almost always can make it happen. HORRIBLE UPS ACCESS POINT. I was lucky enough to receive my package but not without going through some bs with employee Albert. He is a sketchy guy who lied to our faces about a package not being there when UPS's website said it was delivered and SIGNED FOR BY MIGUEL. Albert said it's an issue on UPS's end and I wouldn't be able to pick up the package until Monday after 3. We called the cops and Albert was super defensive, wouldn't call Miguel, and said Miguel would come into work Sunday at 1pm (this happened Friday night). Lo and behold I called today (Saturday) and MIGUEL picked up the phone and said the package was ready to be picked up. We raced over to pick up and he confirmed it was delivered Friday afternoon and he was there to accept and sign for it. We told him about Albert and he said Albert knows he works Saturday and Sunday but he actually ends his Sundays there at 1pm... Albert was trying to keep us from getting answers and the package. I see on here others are not as lucky as I am so save yourself the nightmare of working with these people!! read more

A valuable public service, keeping them out of their cars. 6 AM open to 1 AM close maintains the party quite nicely. Awesome tequila selection. Best cig prices in town.
