Tommy 's Wok is hard to find but worth the trouble if you feel like spending less than $100 for a meal. After a long walk along Scenic Drive we found Tommy's hidden away in a small alley. The Rainbow Seafood Chowder really hit the spot and warmed us up with jumbo prawns, scallops and real crab. A large order was only $12.75! We also had the garlic sauce scallops for $20.45 tasty but the scallops are bland. Tommy's Wok will be a regular stop along with Bruno's Deli during our vacays in Carmel.

Love Tommy's Wok. If you're craving for fast, tasty Chinese in Carmel, look no further. Takeout can be ordered from the back door (enter through the parking lot). The front side that is parallel to mission bistro is meant for folks dining in but I frequently go through there by accident. Adding updated menu photos for everyone!!

This place was a real surprise to me. I followed directions and it took me to a little patio tucked away next to a bank - there was an open door to a kitchen and the patio had two plastic tables and chairs. A waitress noticed me quickly and came to ask if had placed an order or needed to. They have a big menu! The lunch specials are amazing deals - a main course, with chow mein, fried rice, and soup! All for less than $15?! In this economy?? So I ordered the cashew chicken and a starter of cheese puffs (wanton). The food was all flavorful, the chow mein had a deliciously satisfying chew, the cheese puffs had a tangy cream cheese filling. I would say there wasn't an abundance of chicken - but there was a lot of other food to make up for it. Oh and complimentary hot green tea! I will definitely come back again!

We are visiting the area and I n couldn't decide on what to eat. So I came onto Yelp and found this place. This is FRESH Chinese food at a reasonable price! My husband and I arrived about an hour before closing. The spot is small but there was plenty of tables open for us. We ordered veggie egg rolls - they were fresh inside and not soggy. Then we shared an order of broccoli beef and a bowl of rice...again it was fresh and not overly saturated with sauce and sodium. The weather was chilly so we were also served some tea. Appreciate this place and recommend it!

We visited Tommy's Wok in Carmel‑by‑the‑Sea during winter break and came for the lunch specials. It's a small place, and you need to sign up at the front before getting seated. The lunch specials are pretty good and reasonably priced, especially for this area. There were only two servers working: a younger woman handling cleanup and table setup, and a senior woman taking orders and serving food. The workflow felt a bit unorganized -- it would be smoother if they backed each other up. Overall, the lunch specials were solid and a good value here.

Down one of the corridors, in the back, is Tommy's Wok! Yesssss, real Chinese! This small restaurant packs a good punch. Service was great. We ordered the Sweet n Sour Chicken, Orange Chicken, and Chicken Chow Mein. First, the Chow Mein was wonderfully cooked. Vegetables had a snap, not over seasoned, perfectly cooked noodles. Chicken was juicy and seasoned well. Awesome! The orange chicken and sweet n sour were done perfectly and juicy. Not over sauced with fake dyes! Perfectly breaded! *Better than any in SLO County!*

It's very hard to find an affordable fresh fast meal in Carmel. Tommy's Wok satisfies that and depending how you order, can be a healthy option as well. I had the Snow White chicken and really enjoyed it! It had lots of fresh veggies, perfectly cooked tender chicken and a light flavorful sauce. It can with a cup of hot and sour soup and a large serving of fried rice and chow mein noodles. .

My husband and I were in town for the day and being newly local to Monterey there are so many places we've yet to try. We weren't looking for something high end on this particular day and Tommy's wok was the perfect find. This restaurant was difficult to find, down an alley way and a very small "hole in the wall" style joint. Inside is no frills, just seating with the kitchen off to the side. We were seated promptly and given menus to look over. I ordered the orange chicken combination plate which included a soup, chow main, fried rice, and the orange chicken for $10.95.... What a screaming deal for that amount of food. The food came out quickly and tasted good. The serving size was large and enough for two meals. We needed a to go box and enjoyed our left overs the next day. An 18% gratuity is added to the check for a party of 2 or more which I feel is fair given their low menu prices.

Tommy's Wok is tucked in between two buildings. We arrived right before they opened. We were seated promptly and ordered. The service was fantastic and our waitress was great. The food was also very delicious packed with flavor and cooked to perfection. Definitely recommend if you are craving Chinese food. This is your spot!

The broccoli was actually really good! fresh, cooked well, and probably the best part of the meal. Unfortunately, the beef was pretty disappointing, It lacked flavor and could be significantly better with more seasoning and tenderness.

This a great small family owned Chinese food. Reminds me of the good old days . The price is very reasonable given the Carmel By the sea location. Literally 50% less than any restaurant you can eat in town. The service is quick , friendly and the interior is with no frills .

I asked about the fish and they recommended the grilled sea bass, which was on a bed of mashed potatoes and spinach, with a caper cream lemon sauce. It was the sauce that made it work, with mashed potatoes that were a bit lumpy, and it sat on a handful of wilted spinach. I can't complain but it did remind me the of the frozen sea bass from Costco. The Osso buco was good too, a braised lamb shank, veggies, red wine sauce, mashed potatoes, and sautéed spinach. It reminded me of the lamb shank from Costco too. Don't get me wrong. Both were good. My mother always tells me I shouldn't order food that I make myself and now I know why.
