I've heard about Ho-Wah from fellow Yelpers for years and finally decided to take a trip over on a beautiful Saturday afternoon in Marina. I came in around 5pm for dinner service and was quickly seated. The wait staff were very friendly. They recommended the salt and pepper chicken (which I got the salt and pepper fish and wings). Kudos to Ho-Wah for giving me all-flats for wings without even asking! I did ask for a small side of steamed rice which they normally do not serve with the entree. The chicken was a little overcooked, and the fish a little soft. The seasoning and spices were good. I did add the hot sauce that came on the side which elevated the food. The portion was big, enough to share with another person. Price: $39.00 (20% tip included)

An amazing find!! Came here randomly for Chinese Lunar New Year and I'm glad we came! Service was good and plenty of seating! They're known for their salt & pepper wings and it did not disappoint!! Honestly the highlight of our meal was the broccoli, which did have garlic - it was really addicting!

Excellent flavor. Service was great. Friendly staff and overall a very clean place even though I picked up to go.

Delicious and authentic combination Szechuan eggplant, garlic beef flank with green beans, wonton soup. Excited to go back!

Great food and friendly service in a classic family owned restaurant setting. Glad to have discovered this place as I usually wait to eat Chinese food until I'm in the Bay Area. This place is worth the stop!

The Food was great! Service was amazing! We went for Sunday Lunch and was greeted right when we walked in the door, the ambiance was great with photos on the wall of their best of meal choices! Was greeted at the door by December which she recommended! Was so satisfied with the food and service. Highly recommend!

One thing to know--this place gets very busy, especially during peak hours, so be prepared for a wait. But trust me, it's absolutely worth it. We decided to get the large bbq chicken and grilled chicken plates with the fried rice option. My friend added veggies to her bbq chicken plate and we each added a shrimp egg roll. Our food came out very fast and we laughed at the generous portions. Thomas made sure we had everything we needed and we had an assortment of sauces on the table to spruce up our dishes to our liking. All in all the food is good but wouldn't say we were wowed. The bbq chicken was both our favorites and I highly recommend that dish! The service was excellent, Thomas did everything right! The ambiance is low key, kind of has a hole in the wall feel, super casual. My one complaint is that the floors are SUPER slick and a major fall hazard. They have floor carpets everywhere to probably help with that but the tile sections are small death traps. (Yikes)

Starting with the yellow curry, this was one of the best dishes we ordered along with the soup! The curry had great flavor from the cumin and turmeric curry paste, and came with potatoes, carrots, yellow onions, and chicken. The sauce was rich, flavorful, and perfect with a side of rice to soak everything up. Portion size was generous enough to share as well. The only downside was that the chicken was unfortunately a bit dry. The BBQ beef was the biggest disappointment in my opinion. The beef was marinated with lemongrass and black pepper and had a nice grilled flavor, but the meat itself was very dry and not worth ordering again. The pad Thai was decent overall. It came with Thai rice noodles, stir-fried eggs, bean sprouts, onions, and sauce, and we ordered it with steak. The flavor was almost there and still enjoyable, but the dish leaned on the dry side which held it back a bit. Service was attentive and friendly throughout the meal. The ambiance was clean, quiet, and peaceful, exactly the relaxing atmosphere you would expect from a Thai restaurant.

From the outside, it doesn't look like much, and inside it's tiny tiny. maybe 6 to 8 tables total. Honestly, it could use some updates or a bigger location, but don't let any of that fool you. The second you walk in, you get that old-school family restaurant feeling. The kind of place that's been around forever, where the same family is working every shift and knows half their customers by name. No room for a Togo box hidden storage, no trendy décor, just people focused on making great food and taking care of their customers. The owner was incredibly kind and even brought us a complimentary order of their veggie rolls to try. They were absolutely delicious and such a thoughtful touch that made us feel genuinely welcomed. And the food? Absolutely incredible. Every single thing we ordered was packed with flavor, fresh, and cooked perfectly. Not one dish disappointed.
