We didn't order the AYCE special but instead, 3 rolls for $15.00, two orders (and glad we didn't order the AYCE special). I can say we were beyond stuffed and ended up taking home our Rock 'n Roll roll and part of our baked scallop roll. Service is pretty quick and staff are friendly. The amount of fish they serve was, well, more on the conservative side. You can tell if it's a quality sushi joint simply by looking at the rolls. Is the rice to fish ratio bigger, or is the fish to rice bigger? i.e. fish is plump and overshadows the rice. This place is kinda in the middle. I'm surprised to see all the AYCE sushi places, let alone sushi joints, within a 5 mile radius; something that even Torrance lacked. We'll be back after sampling all the other sushi joints. read more

Great place to have dinner with friends and family. I highly recommend there food. Plus service was 100% on track with orders and all that. First time customer, I always prefer to sit at the bar so I can see the freshness of the fish. I was hesitant to order, I noticed the fish looked not so fresh and didn't look refrigerated. I was right after trying it. Most all the rolls were disappointing as well as well as appetizers I don't think I'll be coming back. I found a 10% off discount card to Tomo Sushi on my car last week after church and decided to come here with a group of 6 this week. On Sundays, Tomo opens a half hour later (12 pm instead of 11:30) and there is no lunch price for sushi or bento. Our service was reasonably prompt, and our server did her best to provide good service despite pervasive signage throughout the restaurant (warning of the $35 fine for sharing food with people who didn't order all-you-can-eat sushi) which sent a less than welcoming message. They offer complimentary ice cream (green tea or strawberry) if there is a birthday in your party. Groups of 5 or more are charged an 18% gratuity. Pricing options are more complex than other sushi restaurants in the area: there are bento lunches at a fixed lunch or dinner price and two different tiers of all you can eat sushi, $17.95 for regular and some specialty sushi and $23.95 which adds appetizers and basic sushi. There is a $35 fee if you share food with someone else in your party who ordered a lesser tier, but it is difficult for guests and employees alike to follow the rule, because the same menu is used for all three options. Our server placed dishes on each side of the table but there was no way to distinguish who had ordered off which menu (different color plates, for example) so I can't see how the rule could be enforced without watching customers carefully. Adding further complexity, the all you can eat menu also uses the same space for orders of cut and hand-rolled sushi. Customers are supposed to mark a number on the left side of the space for cut orders and on the right side for hand rolled orders, but the menu doesn't visually indicate this, so our server had to clarify each order. Given all this complexity I can't recommend this restaurant over competitors like Asahi which (while smaller) make the overall experience easier on customers. read more

GARBAGE!!!!! Gave this place a try since the reviews seemed promising. We got the all you can eat dinner sushi, which was 3 rounds. We did not order any drinks. Just water. Our bill came out to be $51.68 plus tip was $60.00 total. Honestly the food and service was worth $25.00. Fish was sliced very thin, definetly were not made to order and the rolls were small and almost no rice. We ordered a fried roll and within 2 minutes it was at our table and very cold. Obviously these rolls are pre made. Rolls were really cold. Like refrigerator cold. I'd rather eat Ralphs super market sushi. Plus, the place is very blah. No character, design and not really clean looking. I would go some where else for sure. And we had to raise our hands to get the waitress to refill our water constantly and to get another round of Sushi. read more

I ordered the tiger roll and that was pretty good. The crunch roll was pretty good but I have had better with more crunch on the outside as well. I also had the volcano roll which was the best out of the three I had ordered, if you try the volcano roll, I suggest buying the all you can eat considering the roll pays for itself and only has four rolls so be sure to order at least two rolls to be filled! Tomo 7 Sushi was pretty good for my first time there, especially for the deals, but I wouldn't return because I know of better sushi in the area. read more

the rice to fish proportion was really off. the sushi's fish was old definitely, i have been to so many sushi restaurants and tomo 7 is serving old food. way too much salt on edamame. every roll is like california roll with stuff on top and thats it. step up the fresh fish game and maybe they'll have some customers. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE. just plain shitty for a price as much as a good sushi place. read more

Tried this place as a referral from a friend. Never coming back here again. It's very small not meant for large parties and the service is EXTREMELY SLOW. Or maybe it was just my experience. There were tables around me that were seated after me but served before me. A couple came in 20 minutes after my group ate their 3 rounds and left before my group even completed round 1. For round two my group of 4 ordered several rolls only to have the waiter tell us we picked too many items and we need to narrow them down. We obviously know how much we can eat and are very aware that we would have to pay for anything we didn't eat. After we placed our round 2 order we waited 40 minutes for our rolls to start coming out. Waiters barely paid us any attention. We asked to speak to a manager and waited 20 more minutes for that. We ended up canceling the rest of our rolls and leaving. It was a terrible experience. read more

This was honestly the worst sushi place I've ever been to. I ordered 3 different rolls and could only get myself to finish one of them. I only had 1 piece each of the other two rolls and they just tasted off; they tasted like I could get sick off of them if I had eaten any more. My boyfriend also ordered 3 rolls and only liked one of them. Not only was their food not good, but they require a 15% gratuity for any group over 5 people. They make sure you know this before you even order. We had a group of 7 and the restaurant was extremely slow, but the service was still not that great. We were told twice as if we didn't hear the first time and that we couldn't read the signs they had posted above every single table. They had signs for everything and not the professional kind, they were just printed on bright pieces of paper and put up everywhere. There were at least 20 signs that I could see just from my seat. My boyfriend and I both love sushi, but we will never go back to this place. I would not recommend this place to anyone because the way the business is run is extremely tacky and their food is not good. read more
