Thompkins Flooring did an amazing job on my new laminate flooring. I had been looking at samples for months and getting estimates. They were by far the most organized, quick to come out to measure, always got back to me quickly and at a fair price. My sales associate Cheri Andre was the best! She really listened to what I wanted and did not try to sell me something more expensive that I did not want. She was a joy to work with as well. I drove farther to the Irvine store because I heard so many great things about her. She really knows all the lines and will tell it like it is. As for the installers, Ceasar and Vickie did such a great job! They were true perfectionists! They really went above and beyond to make me happy. Fantastic folks. First off, the location is very inviting and nice. My kids loved playing there while I was shopping for flooring. I have an old building and needed to match a section of the flooring. They helped me find an exact match. It came out great. The pricing was great too. This a great company for Vinyl flooring. One of my friends had referred me to them, and I directly worked with Rick during the entire time. Rick is phenomenal, and knows exactly what he is doing and is a respectful man. It took me a while to decide on coloring and the brand, but love the final product. Note that I ended up going with Paradigm brand and their Conquest line - Chateau color. See attached photos for real color installed to compare with website photos. I should mention that their subcontractor doing the installation, Cesar, and his team were an absolute beast and did a really fine job also. They were very understanding and accommodating. Rick was very helpful on pricing and cut us a really good deal too. I know this because I had spoken to several vendors and had received ridiculous quotes on the same line of material. A 5-7 day job was rushed and completed in 2 days with total disregard for the interior walls of the house. I had them come into a brand new house right after I closed escrow & the walls were pristine. The contract says they will be careful but they were careLESS. They cut the flooring inside one of the rooms & the house was left completely filthy. Their customer service is rude & I had several issues with the way they spoke to me when I asked them simple request last such as moving their cutting area. Handprints on the ceiling where the younger workers thought it was funny to leave their prints which they tried to argue with me over when absolutely nobody else was in my house. Overall the work was good but only if you are around to oversee the job. I also tried to contact the owner several times but he never returned my calls despite calling 6-8 times. read more

We were in the market for new laminate flooring for our condo in Tustin Ranch. We shopped a number of flooring providers and requested/received bids from 4 of them. Rick Imler was my contact throughout the process and he couldn't have been better to work with. It's great working with someone who knows the marketplace and trends within the market, the types of products available and the characteristics of the products that are right for the customer. He provided insights of the flooring we wanted relative to water and moisture resistance and he highlighted pros and cons of the various baseboard styles that we were considering. Rick efficiently dealt with delivery of material to the job site to minimize my expense while still getting me the baseboard early so I could prime/ paint baseboards in advance of installation. Our contractor used Tompkins to install our new carpet throughout our house 3 years ago. We bought expensive, good quality carpet. Almost immediately after installation, the carpet started bubbling up in the master bedroom. Then, every room in the house with new carpet had bubbling and loosening of carpet. I was hoping that it was just a sign of things settling after the remodel, but sadly it's permanent, and getting worse. We take very good care of our house....we are not hard on the floors etc. no shoes in the house ever and so on. Very disappointed in just about every single aspect of our remodel. Thinking about past experiences working with contractors, I was determined this time to not make the same mistakes as before. I needed somewhere established, been in business for a long time, and well-recomended and licensed. Price is important, but honesty, standard of work, and quality of the product are more valued. I thought of Thompkins Flooring, which is located just near us. Rick greeted us warmly at the door and asked what we wanted. We close luxury vinyl planking which is water proof and durable. Rick answered all my questions, let us take samples home (which everyone must do because of lighting), and presented a calm demeanor during our decision process. Once we agreed on the price which was lower than two the places we visited, he matched us us with the right team of workers. The workers were incredible. They were neat, quiet, conscious of our situation, and hard working. My wife and i repainted our baseboards for the workers to install. We all worked together as a team. We were tired but had fun being a part of the process. The finish product is amazing. Our home is cooler, cleaner, and looks awesome. These guys get a rare five star rating in every area. Cheri was very helpful with helping us select laminate flooring, the prices seemed very reasonable, and the installation was very professional. They happened to have a big crew available, so what was meant to be a 3-4 day job got finished in 2 days, which was great for us. I had already had two other firms out, and her professionalism and knowledge really impressed me. The pricing was also well below my other two quotes, for MORE work, and better quality materials. This project and painting was stalled by a pipe leak and we had to stop the work for almost two months while I remodeled a bath and fixes a pipe. Awesome experience with Tompkins flooring. At first we were just planning to get LVP at Home Depot or Lowes. You would think Tompkins flooring would be incredibly expensive since they're based in Irvine, but turned out they were incredibly reasonably-priced, professional, experienced, helpful, and had way more selection than the big box stores. I didn't know until I actually went shopping for flooring, but I was incredibly picky and now am very, very happy with the floors themselves as well as the work done by David and his team regarding installation. David really went the extra mile from picking out flooring, educating us, but never pressuring. He was always one step ahead of me (as contractors should be) when being thoughtful about this entire process. Ex. when I wanted to make sure there was a good buffer for extra flooring-he had already ordered it (in case it sold out). Every single time I went in the store, I learned something new-from best practices, to flooring designs/manufacturers, to what to look out for when interacting with contractors so as not to get jipped. He also has lots of well-built connections with manufacturers as well as other contractors which makes him well-rounded and so valuable. We've been burned by past contractors, so I can't express how much I feel like we've found a gem here. Honest, realiable, and reasonable! With this place, just remember that calling is your best bet compared to texting or emailing as they tend to be more old-school with communication. read more

Truly a wonderful experience with Tompkins Flooring. David was super helpful and friendly. He was very thorough explaining all different type of carpets they offer. The carpet installers came out today and did a fantastic job for our upstairs level. Jose and the two other installers were very professional and friendly. They worked all day and when I bought lunch for them they didn't eat it till 4 hours later. I felt bad that they didn't even take any breaks until they sat down and ate lunch. The selection was good (certain flooring places in Anaheim have more), and the pricing was competitive. We had a burst pipe in the slab, so the oak wood flooring needed to be replaced. Our home is in the Woodbridge Village of Irvine. Rick Imler at Tompkins is our go-to flooring advisor. They installed our carpets, tiles and previous wood flooring over the last 25 years. Tompkins quote was reasonable and approximately what the insurance company covered. We paid a little out of pocket but we're glad we did. The floor looks great and Tompkins stands behind their work. We had bathroom tiles start making pop sounds years after they installed it, they came back and re-installed the tiles. Insurance contractors aren't going to stand behind their work like that. Insist on working with Rick Imler, you'll be glad you did. And you want Tim Minahan to do the installation. read more
