In response to Yvone D. My wife and I have been customers to this location for over 7 years since moving here from Iowa. We find the food and atmosphere to be very pleasing and comfortable. Now, I am white and my wife is black, and never have we ever witnessed anything you have mentioned. They have employed all races of people in the business and they treat all like family. I was not there when you supposedly witness the incident that you made remarks on. But believe me when I say, if there was ever a employee that were racist, they would no longer be employed there. The owner is very concerned with all his clientel and no favortism. As for the ordering of the food, it depends on the people. All are asked to order at the window and like many of us regulars, they pretty much know what we like and may take an order at the bar. Tom's has always held the upmost when catering to all its customers. And, they have helped many others in the community as well as the least fortunate. Supported food and clothing drives for the homeless. I see nothing of what you have claimed. I would definately give Tom's BBQ 5 stars! read more

I am completely biased cause I eat hear all the time and have since first finding this gem 7 years ago and totally disappointed I missed out on this place all the years before. The BBQ meats are so good we don't use sauce. I have never been to a BBQ place where the meats didn't need the places BBQ sauce. In addition to BBQ they have also got Italian Beef sandwiches that are better than Portillos so I never have to go to that crazy place again. Even the fish is delectable and of course one of my faves is Chicago burger. The owner and the staff is the best I have ever ever ever been able to be served by. Very accommodating to the point of adding thing to the menus because it's one of their customers favorites. I get the same thing every time. Beef Brisket dinner...always good when dining in. Last couple time on our take out dinners was very disappointing. I don't usually write reviews, but when you spend $20.00 for 1 dinner and you get something that looks like my doggies put it together is nonsense. Wish I could post picture. Not letting me. Overall awesome experience! Read a couple reviews before I went in and decided to get the 1/2 slab dinner plate with fries and Mac and cheese. My ribs were fall off the bone yummy and their mild sauce did indeed have some kick but not spicy at all. Mac and cheese was ooey gooey yummy too! My fiancé got the pulled pork dinner plate with the same sides as I (we are very simple people,lol). He said the pork was great but would have enjoyed a bun maybe? It just came with a good serving of pulled pork! Customer service was good. We came in 45-50 minutes before they closed on a Monday and it was us and a few other people. Kaylee was super friendly! I love this BBQ restaurant. It's not too big but the menu has a lot of options. I almost always get the loaded baked potato with pulled pork. The pork is super tender and the potato has all the right toppings on it. Staff is super friendly and accommodated our large party easily. We ordered the burnt end dinner and 1/2 slab of ribs. The burnt ends were perfect and the ribs were fall off the bone tender and delicious! The in only reason this visit didn't get 5 stars is that both meat dishes came out warm and not piping hot! read more

When I walked in I really had high hopes based on the service. unfortunately, as good as the device was, it just didn't make up for the bland and greasy food. I haven't had BBQ since we moved to the Valley about a year ago, and after living in Texas and Georgia this place just didn't cut it. This is the nicest Tom's BBQ out of all the locations I've been to. It's quite spacious, with indoor and outdoor seating. Ordering was easy at the counter, and the cashier was very friendly and engaging. I ordered the pulled pork sandwich combo with chili. It was made in lightning fast time- very nice! Sodas are self serve at the fountain, with iced tea as well. The sandwich was a hearty portion of tender pork, coleslaw, and bbq sauce. With the hot and spicy chili, I was definitely full for lunch. Really good catfish and shrimp platter. Mac n cheese is creamer style with a nice hint of some seasoning. Hush puppies could've used some maple brown butter or something to dip them in. Pulled smoked pork sandwich was really good and smelled like perfect smoked pork should smell. Very satisfied. The All-You-Can-Eat Fish Fry keeps us coming back on Fridays. The fish is great and the homemade tartar sauce is the perfect complement. Even our kids can't get enough! The service is good, the staff is friendly, the establishment is clean, and there's a "Cornhole Corner" outside where kids can burn off some energy. The patio also has long picnic tables, making this a great place for families with lots of kids. I'm so glad our neighbors (they are obsessed!) introduced us to this restaurant. The first BBQ I've had since moving to AZ like, 5 mins before lockdown and OMG!!! The chicken, get the chicken and then, get more chicken. First time customers and we will definitely be going back. I got the pulled pork dinner and they made it a sandwich with a side of potato salad and a drink. The pork was so moist and a very good helping. The potato salad was amazing and I'm picky on ones I like because they aren't like grandmas. The bbq sauce I got was the "hot" one, not hot but had a little twang of flavor. Mom got a smoked chicken sandwich and green beans with bacon. The chicken was PERFECTLY cooked, not dry one bit. Mom's boyfriend got the brisket sandwich and baked beans... again, AMAZING!! I loved how friendly the staff was and how clean the restaurant was. Ordered LOTS off the menu to try as 1st timers. Started with the homemade dirty potato chips. Light and crispy. Ordered the Big Piggy Pulled Pork sandwich with beans, Loaded Baked potato with brisket, Mac-daddy mac and cheese with pulled pork, and if that wasn't enough, Stephany brought us Catfish and the house tartar sauce. Fish was light and flaky with a nice seasoned batter. Pulled pork was very delicious and tender. It was offered with 2 different sauces, both really good. The potato was probably my favorite. The food is really delicious but the employees are rude especially the owner. They care more about being right then offering exceptional customer service. Make sure to not ask for the coleslaw that comes on the pulled pork sandwich on the side. They'll tell you no, want to charge you for a side of coleslaw then take you in to the mens room to show you a sign as to why they will not put the maybe one tablespoon of coleslaw that you're technically paying for on the side. We placed a large pick up order and I should have unpacked all of the bags to check the order because they forgot the sides of potato salad. They did remember the mac and cheese but I wish they would have forgotten the mac and cheese instead. It was soggy pasta shells with runny cheese and no flavor. Went here with the family hoping for some good food and atmosphere. We started with the combo appetizer of fried onion, zucchini, pickles, and mushrooms which was just a mess of overly greasy veg piled up in a paper tray. The batter had a good crispiness/texture, but just no flavor (unless you consider grease a flavor). To big a chunk to fry. I mean zucchini cut into quarters and long thick slices of pickles and whole mushrooms aren't great for frying, you want small bite size pieces in my opinion. For my entree I ordered the two meat combo with pulled pork and beef brisket with fries and coleslaw. The beef brisket was okay, had a good texture and okay flavor, but it was overly smoked in my opinion (maybe its just the wood they use), but if you like a strong smoke then you may enjoy it. The pulled pork was rather bad, flavor was so-so but it was just a glob of mush and again overly smoked. I was hoping the sauce would save the day, but alas no. Not sure if it is made in house, but it tastes suspiciously similar to K.C. masterpiece. Compared to the meat, the fries and coleslaw were the best part of the dish. The coleslaw was actually pretty decent and the fries were just so-so. As for the service, we were greeted nicely and seated quickly. They were quick to take our drink and food orders, but kind of slow after that. Especially trying to get out of the place, the waiter seemed to want to just talk to a table of regulars instead of bringing the check and to-go boxes/bag. Overall probably won't go back, I'd rather drive an hour to get good bbq than take the 5 minute trip to this place. read more
