I know nothing about this place. We stopped by on a whim while driving through the area and needing breakfast. Seeing that they had chilaquiles , I knew I was going to like it. The food was delicious, the guacamole was awesome, service was fantastic. I've been here a couple of times and I think this last will be the last... "Smash burger" special was a 10.49 medium sized burger with old onions and, some cheese and pickles. I opted for the zucchini sticks, they tasted like they were fried in old oil, and while the serving was generous, it came with ONE side of ranch which was hardly enough for half the order...and they charge for more...my total meal was over $22 and came with a tiny soda. We got breakfast here after I had an outpatient procedure done nearby-- the goal was to keep it in walking distance. Carne asada with mushrooms and peppers - my s/o ordered this and he said it was pretty bland. He says it felt like there was no seasoning and there was way too much egg. Coffee - s/o also ordered this, he said it was sufficient but he also isn't a huge coffee person. Side of toast - this was for me and I really liked it. Breakfast sandwich with egg, cheese, and bacon- none of their sandwiches had cheese so I had to add it. They also had way too much egg in the sandwich vs bacon. As a note, I asked for no tomato or lettuce. I think it typically comes with both. Home fries - these were really sad, wish I hadn't ordered them. It was just soggy shredded potato without seasoning of any kind-- see attached photo. Tom's Place needs to desperately update their menu prices. Got the 1/2 sandwich & soup; was suppose to be $8.19 (according to the menu price), but was actually $10.59. A $2.40 difference before tax. Their prices may increased incrementally, but it's time for them to update their menu prices. I would advise everyone to ask for a current menu price before you order. The food looks way better than it tastes. Low quality ingredients for high priced unseasoned food. The staff is always kind and friendly !! Which is a plus but the price / quality isn't there. 14$ for a mushroom burger and ate it as soon as I left the drive through. The bottom half of the burger was already soaked with thousand island sauce when I took it out of the bag, and the slices of onions were really chunky which made me feel like there was no attention to detail it was just pretty much a thrown together or not made with love. Wow worst egg breakfast burrito ever. I asked for avocado and they charged $2.20 for a measly slice of avocado. Burrito came out to $9.81 ( no meat either).On top of that, burrito had no flavor. I had to douse it in taco sauce and salt. And i do agree with the review below, the employees cloth mask were not covering their noses. I get it, it's probably hot in there, so maybe they should wear the blue disposable ones since they're lighter and easier to breathe in. My family loves the fried mushrooms, fried chicken, and their BLT sandwiches, while I usually stick with their steak sandwich. What I like about their steak sandwich is that it comes with a real slice of thin, tender steak cooked to your preference and topped with fresh tomato and lettuce (not shredded lettuce, actual leaves of letttuce). This restaurant has a fair amount of seating, but very limited parking. There is a drive through though!
