I've had my tastebuds set on trying Tony Baloney's for quite some time now. A few months (possible a year) back I came across a viral post of their swine fighter pizza. As a pepperoni pizza lover this was a must try for me. I do not live in NJ so when the opportunity presented itself and I was nearby it was a no-brainer brainer for me, I had to check them out! Unfortunately for me the slice had I had been dreaming of for so long was not available (I tried 2 locations). No worries, the pies they had available all looked amazing and since I was in Jersey there was no way I could leave without trying their pizza. I ordered 2 different slices (forgive me I forgot their menu names). The first was a pepperoni slice with a garlic pesto sauce. The second was a Thai chicken peanut slice. Both were cooked perfectly and extremely flavorful! I love their flavor combinations. They are not your usual toppings for pizza but hey, why make an ordinary pie when you can make it extraordinary! The next time I'm in Jersey I will definitely try my luck again with the original slice I was hoping to try but nonetheless these were 2 pretty solid slices.

First time trying this restaurant through delivery on DoorDash. With all the raving reviews, I had high expectations. My sister and I ordered a total of 7 items on the menu: House - BYO Fries, Good-Ol' Balls, Bayou, Cheezy Garlic Bread, Vampire Garlic Knots, Pope Leo - Slice, OG Vegan - Slice. Out of the 7, we only enjoyed 2 of the items: House - BYO Fries, Cheezy Garlic Bread. However, everything else was disappointing. It all lacked flavor and just wasn't good. It is definitely not a place we'll try again.

Hands down one of the most vile meals I've ever ordered (I would say consumed but I threw it all right in the garbage). I ordered the Pope Leo slice and it is dried out to a corpse and has no pesto ranch on it. The boneless wings are swimming in sauce which is ironic because they're hard as rocks (literally can barely cut it with a steak knife) and drier than the Sahara. The only part of this meal that's actually edible is the garlic knots (which mind you look NOTHING) like the pictures online. Owner should be all around ashamed of himself. Crook.

Nice pie. I got the classic NJ and it was good. The service was friendly. Fun interior.

This restaurant exceeded expectations! We ordered late night delivery. The Ay Dios Mio pizza was awesome. It is basically mac and cheese pizza. It had a creamy sauce for the base, mini tube noodles, and several types of cheese. It also had a tiny bit of a spicy kick which was unexpected, but very much welcome. A must try in my opinion! We also got the cacio pepe mac balls. These were very large and had great texture, but I would've enjoyed a bit more flavor, perhaps with a sharper cheese. My partner got the ducktown melt which was similar to a Philly cheesesteak. He went to school in Philly and is somewhat of a connoisseur of these sandwiches and said this was one of the best he has ever had. The bread was like buttery garlic bread and it was loaded with fresh mozzarella. I really enjoyed the whole meal. Only negative is that it was a bit pricey. $20 for a small pizza and $16 for 3 mac balls is a little steep. Still, I would say it is worth it for a splurge.

    Winger- Slice and cheese slice

Came here because we've seen the infamous taco pizza on social media. The guys were intrigued- but they're from LA and I assured them the tacos would not be what they're used to. So thankfully they stuck to more traditional slices. I ordered a cheese slice and a Buffalo wing slice. Blue cheese was overpowering. Wasn't crazy about the cheese slice either. Really mediocre pizza. Appreciate that they had vegan pizza since one in our party cant have dairy. She ordered a vegan pie (for the vegan cheese) and added pepperoni. This was surprisingly better than anything i had. How could your vegan pizza taste better than your pizza with real cheese?? After this... We headed to Tornas and were so glad we saved the best for last. This sort of place is the type of restaurant you try once to say you tried it-but probably wouldn't return

Don't order pizza or salad from here. The salad had lettuce w browning edges I couldn't bring myself to eat (wasted $18 bucks there.) and the basil on the pie was grey so scraped that off so I could eat the dry crust and red sauce. Literally the saddest and worst pizza meal I've ever had .... that's 50+ years of eating pizza to be measured against. Worst. Ever.

Came here for the swine attack pie (my bf loves pepperoni pies). Omg that pie was intense! I only had a slice and couldn't eat more! Service was great here. Love all their creative pizzas. Definitely will come back to try the other pies and the sandwiches, too.

Big fan of Tony Boloney ever since I had the Chicken Tikka Masala pizza at a Yelp event over 5 years ago!!! They have the most creative pizza combinations and their pizza's are flavor bombs!! Glad that they finally moved to Jersey City and that I can have their pizza on the regular now!! I just went the other day and they have a lot of new combinations!! I also see that they have loaded fries!! What?! Need to go back very soon!

Tony Boloneys is a legit pizzeria. With a wide variety of different pizza options. The topping are limitless. From steak to Mac and cheese boratta to cheese whiz. They will have something u like. I have gotten a few things here but it seems like I come here for the Mac and cheese pizza. It has a different taste to it bc it has a chipotle sauce and cilantro on it that cuts the cheese so nice. Some people I know don't like cilantro or chipotle. If u don't tell them to make urs without it. Or even add cheese whiz to it. Haha now that I say it I might have to try that the next time. Their sub sandwiches are big and filling my friend had the T. rex he enjoyed that massive beef rib cheese steak. I been wanting to try more sandwiches. The cheese fries are a nice portion with a lot of cheese. And I never had them but I hear they have good wings.

tl;dr wacky pies done well, even the uber-gimmicky taco pizza is exciting and well worth a visit Tony Boloney's debuted in Atlantic City in 2009 as a boutique pizzeria/deli from the mind of Mike Haute. The well-curated, drunk-food menu of inventive pizzas and subs is headlined by the signature Taco Taco Taco Pizza -- originally a fanciful stoner combo available only on Tuesdays that has now garnered attention nationwide. Tony Boloney's has since expanded to multiple New Jersey locations, including a food truck. The Jersey City outpost is adjacent to a meadow-green muralled construction project jutting out into the sidewalk. The all-black storefront has a cursive, blue neon sign hanging in the window. The interior is industrial-chic. A pizza-inspired graffiti collage stretches along the wall to the left; whitewashed brick on the right starkly contrasts the black subway tile across the back. Warm, filamentous bulbs hang from the soaring ceilings, and a single, wall-mounted flat screen plays Scrubs without subtitles. The compact pizza display is illuminated by blue and green underlighting. The teal unisex bathroom is separated by latched, barn-style sliding door. A handful of mildly cushioned booths are closely packed in the space, and pop radio echoes around the room. A few friends and I arrived for Sunday lunch, and Tony Boloney's boasted a steady stream of customers. We spent a few minutes browsing the laminated menus and acquainting ourselves with the ambitious pizza lineup, but we were somewhat disappointed to learn that our selection of slices was limited to those already on display (probably only half of the available pizza concoctions). Undeterred, we opted to share an assortment of varieties. Across all of the slices, the crust was thin, uncharred, and remarkably sturdy. The collective favorite was the Supreme Tang, a Thai-inspired chicken pie featuring a sesame seed crust, spicy mayo, and a dynamic blend of sweet and savory flavors. My next pick (and my partner's favorite of the lot) was the aforementioned Taco Taco Taco, now offered daily. The floppy, extra-large slice balanced precariously on two paper plates. It was slathered with Oaxacan queso blanco and chipotle mole sauce, decked with three unexpectedly hefty tacos and a boatload of fresh guacamole, and finally drizzled with pickled jalapeno crema. The taco varieties -- mezcal-marinated steak, chicken, and brisket, each cooked with ooey gooey cheese sauce -- were each flavorfully rich and would be wholly satisfying as standalone eats in their own right. A single taco pizza slice could reasonably serve as a hearty meal, and it was perfect to split between multiple folks. Among the remaining slices, I also enjoyed the Tikka (another sesame crust decorated with paneer and tamarind chutney), as well as the relatively subdued, earthy Magic Mushroom. Only the S#itfaced Chicken, which was totally overpowered by the one-dimensionally sweet honey sauce, left me unimpressed. The staff was somewhat standoffish but otherwise efficient, although one employee was knocked out at an adjacent table. Oddly, napkins and utensils were nowhere to be found across the dining room -- we had to ask the distant staff. Most slices ran $5-8, with the Taco Taco Taco fetching $15. Although zany and oftentimes outlandish, the pies were surprisingly well executed. While by no means the best pizza in New Jersey, Tony Boloney's is a fun and memorable experience, and I would happily be game for round 2.

I'll be very honest the only things stopping me from giving this spot a 5 is 1- the fountain soda not that good the lemonade is good tho 2- the parking is terrible in this area . This spot is great don't believe the bad reviews about not enough meat on sandwiches or the services because it's a lie! I drove 25 mins from New York to get this pizza it was definitely worth it. We tried a few slices there and ordered a swine fighter pie and the mozzarella stick sampler . The pretty young lady behind the counter is super sweet and explained every question we had about anything without getting annoyed! This is a very very very very clean establishment seating is enough for about 20 ppl it's a cool vibey spot . I'd come back again for sure! **DISCLAIMER**** THE PIES ARE BEYOND GENEROUSLY TOP SO ORDER A SMALL PIE IF NOT A LARGE WILL BE WAYYYYY TOOOO MUCH !!!! UNLESS YOU HAVE THE PEOPLE HELP EAT IT LOL I'll be eating pizza for at least a week once you see the pics you will understand lol !

If you knew me, I always considered pizza as a separate food group aka the sixth main food group! Established in 1982, this small family-owned cash-only restaurant has been a beloved neighborhood staple known for its authentic Italian pizza along with other Italian dishes and a cozy and family-friendly atmosphere. With a glut of pizza joints, how would this pizzeria from Larry and Joe compare to others I've tried in the neighborhood!? PURCHASE [ONION RINGS/STRAWS/STRINGS ALERT - 3.5 of 5.0 STARS] Onion Rings ($5.00): A large container filled with oddly similarly-sized rings, these were hot, medium-browned, semi-crunchy, and didn't have a tendency to crumble when bitten into while the onion ring (not sweet Maui) stayed intact. They were slightly oily, no dipping sauce given, and surprisingly good. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&start=48&select=Fo3zPbAgICQdKvznZJsvGA Mozzarella Sticks 6pc ($7.00): Simple finger-sized medium-browned cheese sticks with homemade marinara dipping sauce, we enjoyed them but nothing special to report. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&start=72&select=XdrF2nAAywvu13PpkK4mIQ Eggplant Parmigiana Sandwich ($10.00): If you knew me, this was my go-to Italian sandwich, and it didn't disappoint. This was simply an impressive pie, indeed! https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&start=72&select=-5ich-E3lcSWgrzXYPVisA SERVICE I called ahead and placed my order with a friendly gentleman whose name I couldn't recall. I was told it would be ready within 45 minutes which was fine. I arrived a bit early to a very busy pizzeria, to which I waited an extra 15 minutes before my order was done and packed up. No worries, as I watched TV and simply observed the "mayhem" in this place. I wasn't in a hurry, so all was good - grazie! PARKING (Street; N/A this instance) This was an easy flat 20-minute walk from my friend's place. Otherwise, there appeared to be plenty of spots (no known private lot) along the main drag of Newark Ave. and all surrounding roads - 'nuff said. ATMOSPHERE, DÉCOR, AMBIENCE A simple interior layout https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&start=48&select=YA57QUy6J9z38Y_Kkkay_A with a tidy dining area of booths and a couple of small tables, a bar table along one wall, and the order counter that looked into the kitchen at the back. There was one TV (volume on) while there wasn't any background music. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&start=48&select=4WAmbzYptvChB1edodHcSQ ATTIRE Totally casual, so I would normally be in a t-shirt, boardshorts, and flip-flops. OVERALL Larry & Joe's Pizzeria was an incredible example of a close-knit family eatery that was lovingly supported by the neighborhood and vice versa, which gave me the warm-and-fuzzies. From tasty food, large portions, reasonable prices, good menu selection, and wonderful service, this place hit all of the feels. And, I always loved supporting small businesses whenever possible. I found very good value based on the prices, service, and experience noted above (TOTAL paid experience was around $54.00 BEFORE any discounts and/or tip). Sadly, they were CASH ONLY (my only knock), so no AMEX! 4.0 STARS
