    Cannoli shake!
    Katelyn Louise D.

Wow! I'm a milkshake connoisseur, and lemme tell you, this cannoli shake was TO DIE FOR! I've never tasted a shake so unique. The place is adorable, too. You can't sit and enjoy your treats but that's what's extra cute about it; it's just a little hut on the side of the main drag in Mundelein. But it stands out! If I recall, there might be picnic tables outside? Could be wrong. My focus was on THE SHAKE! And I was so lucky to have Tony himself make it for me!!! I've been wanting to stop in for about a year now, so today's treat was extra special. Great service. It's run by happy people who love what they do, you can tell. And I guess Tony perfected his grandmother's recipe. I applaud the effort! I'm not a Midwest girl and dislike nearly everything about this rotten part of the country, but places like this with quality service, food, ambiance, and location make me feel like I can breathe. Go! And when you go "wow," remember that I told you so!

    First time Tony Cannoli's!! Yeah!!

I'll go really far for awesome cannolis, Grand Ave. (Chicago), Little Italy (San Francisco) and Tenuta's (Kenosha, WI). I saw the pics and read the reviews for Tony Cannoli and thought, let's take a detour heading home from Milwaukee. And guess what, Tony himself was working and it turns out that he also graduated from Mundelein high school, like my relatives. I could eat an entire platter of these cannolis, or an entire box. And if you didn't bring a small cooler, you'll have to eat an entire box. It was a little hot on this particular day and well, it's a good reason to just eat every single cannoli. We weren't going directly home, yes, that was the reasoning. They have a number of different flavors but I always seem to enjoy the good ole favorites - ricotta with chocolate chips or pistachios. FYI, I wish these cannolis were a bit bigger. But then again, you can eat more flavors due to these not being as huge as what you may be accustomed to. Hope to be back asap, my family members moved (CA) after college (Palo Alto and Chicago). I'd like to take them here since they never took me, whilst they lived in Mundelein. I was like, "Yo, Tony Cannoli has been here for 10 years, what's up with that??"

From left: hazelnut, chocolate orange, pistachio, lemon, turtle, and seasonal apple

Such a great family owned shop! I love the concept and the cannolis tasted amazing! I like that you can get a variety box and pick out any of the flavors, the chocolate orange was my favorite! I'm definitely coming back to try a shake next time.

This is my second order from the website. Last year, for Easter, I brought a plate of cannoli and so did someone else. This year, I switched to a cannoli cake. Wow, what a reaction. Gotta bring it again next year. By demand. It also started an argument over their mother's cheesecake. Go figure in a house with Italians. Everyone should be so lucky to have a Tony Cannoli in their town. Love the cannoli, the shakes, and now the cake. Service is great. Cake was ready for pick-up when I arrived. Had a small container of cannoli topping. Looked really busy in back getting orders ready for Easter.

A variety of flavors. They're all great!

These are some absolutely amazing cannoli. It's a very small place, basically just a hut, but they prep everything fresh for you and are super friendly. I got a variety of flavors to try and they were all fantastic, from the classic pistachio to the out of the box butterscotch. My favorite was the chocolate orange, I swear I could eat a box of those to myself. I've also had a few of the cookies and loved them as well, I'd say you can't go wrong here. This is a must try spot if your anywhere in the area!

    Cannolis. Delish and fresh.

Finally I tried this place. It was very good. Small little shop with everything made fresh . They have a wonderful selection of chocolate filled and ricotta cannoli. I believe the young man that helped me was Toni. Excellent product and service. It was so good I almost turned around and got more. Here's a tip they have these small bites which you can order as well .

Wonderful place to pick up a delicious dessert!

A cute little place to stop in and get an absolutely delicious dessert! It's warm and welcoming and the staff friendly and helpful! Strongly recommended!

Tony Cannoli is a popular local, family owned pastry shop that offers amazing cannoli and cookies. It's a little gem of place that can be overlooked while driving by. You can't go wrong with their awesome tasting cannoli and cannoli milk shake. These are their signature cannoli flavors (they are subject to availability): Traditional traditional cannoli shell filled with candied orange peel ricotta dipped in pistachios Pistachio traditional cannoli shell filled with chocolate chip ricotta dipped in pistachios Siciliana chocolate dipped cannoli shell filled with chocolate chip ricotta dipped in mini chocolate chips Lemon traditional cannoli shell filled with candied lemon ricotta finished with a candied lemon peel wedge Chocolate orange chocolate dipped cannoli shell filled with candied orange ricotta finished with a candied orange peel wedge Hazelnut chocolate dipped cannoli shell filled with hazelnut creme dipped in mini chocolate chips Turtle caramel drizzled cannoli shell filled with hazelnut creme dipped in pecans I took this information from their website. I have tried all but the Turtle one and they were all on point. Fresh and delicious tasting, and addictive. Although the cannoli are small in size, their filling is of generous portion and the shell was crunchy. I have had their cannoli on two separate occasions and both the times, I was quite impressed by their taste. I just couldn't stop eating them. It's hard to resist. I didn't want the cannoli to be finished They have seasonal cannoli on their menu too. I have not had any seasonal ones yet. Also, on Fridays, they offer cannoli milk shakes. The flavors can vary. I had a Spumoni milk shake and it was super good. You absolutely can't go wrong with it either. The only thing is that they only have one size and it's a small one (I forget if it's 10 oz or 12 oz size?). It's $5.75 for that small size. They also have cookies, cookie sandwiches, couple of cake varieties and gelato in cannoli shell. I would like to try their cookie sandwiches and gelato next. I received good service. I placed my order and paid it over the phone and had curbside pick-up. Check out this cute little shop when you are in Mundelein. I definitely recommend it. It's worth a visit.

    Cute little place.

This was not an Italian cannoli cake. Italian cake is a light spongy cake. Should have had a disclaimer

The friendly guy at the counter said that they are changing their name as per the new storefront sign. This is a casual Mexican bakery with great prices. Loved all food items that I chose & I didn't chose his recommendations so those might even be better. He recommended items with ginger, coconut & traditional delights. We also did not warm up the pastries so that is how delicious the bakery items were Everything was so fresh tasting & hit the spot. I appreciate that things were not overly sweet. Recommended items: -Pineapple empanadas. -This square custard tart with real blueberries in it. -Strawberry churros. I look forward to hikes that will lead me back down this way & trying more yummy items.

To start, there were way more bakery items here than I expected! It was pretty overwhelming, making it difficult to decide what to get (and to figure out what is good). I picked up a variety of different treats: tres leches cake, flan, churros, concha bread, and rice pudding empanada. The results were mixed. As everyone has said, the tres leches cake is superb and is probably the highlight of what they make at this bakery. The other standout was the rice pudding empanada. There are no signs that say what the different pastries are so we picked it out and took a chance. It ended up being a pleasant surprise. Just perfectly sweet. But, it would be nice if they could put up signs so customers can decide what they want without having to ask staff. The churros were pretty hard and stale by the time we got them in the middle of the day. Perhaps they taste better when they are fresh. Otherwise, would not recommend. The concha bread was huge and super soft! But overall, the flavor was light and was not as sweet as I would have liked. The flan I did not mind, but my family thought it was way too firm. Overall, this bakery was too far out of my way to come back to. There were some standout items, but there were also a lot of other items that were pretty lackluster.

The pastry cabinets are filled with all types of yummy goodness. But wait, what if I want breakfast and I am gluten free. According to the menu, they have a gluten free toast. That being said, I highly suspect contamination is a challenge in here. I sat down and was promptly met with what I believe was the owner. She helped clarify some questions I had like is the Swiss cheese on the Paris Special, American Swiss or Emmental since Swiss cheese is only an American thing. It is American Swiss for those asking. When in Rome I guess. The Paris Special is diced ham, eggs, and Swiss cheese on a croissant. I also ordered the diced potatoes with onion. The sandwich was good. Eggs were cooked perfectly, ham was diced out of a bag by the texture of it... it was fine. The croissant was very buttery, but I felt it was so buttery, it lost some exterior texture a fresh croissant may have. The potatoes were very tasty, but were dripping in oil on the plate. One thing that seemed to surprise me was me was the unsweetened iced tea. I felt it had black currant in it. That was lovely! Overall, this place is good. The price was not so great. But it is definitely cheaper than a trip to Paris.
