This shop is such a treasure! The staff are always friendly, and the cannolis are so good! Today, we purchased several three packs of mini cannoli, including chocolate peanut butter, traditional, chocolate orange, and lemon. These are not grocery store cannolis--these are made with real ingredients--pistachios, peanuts, lemon and orange peels. We also had to grab a piece of cannoli cake. The shop is small, but in the cutest midcentury style building, and in the warmer weather, picnic tables are available outside. Don't be surprised if the staff offer you a fork with your purchases, so you can enjoy the treats right away! The owners also conduct classes, which we really want to attend in the future. Sorry, but not traditional Cannoli in the least. The shell was not that bubbly crispy shell and the texture of the filling was off, almost like a thin cottage cheese texture. The flavor profile was decent but this Italian girl will not be going back. read more

Wow! I'm a milkshake connoisseur, and lemme tell you, this cannoli shake was TO DIE FOR! I've never tasted a shake so unique. The place is adorable, too. You can't sit and enjoy your treats but that's what's extra cute about it; it's just a little hut on the side of the main drag in Mundelein. But it stands out! If I recall, there might be picnic tables outside? Could be wrong. My focus was on THE SHAKE! And I was so lucky to have Tony himself make it for me!!! I've been wanting to stop in for about a year now, so today's treat was extra special. Great service. It's run by happy people who love what they do, you can tell. And I guess Tony perfected his grandmother's recipe. I applaud the effort! I'm not a Midwest girl and dislike nearly everything about this rotten part of the country, but places like this with quality service, food, ambiance, and location make me feel like I can breathe. I'll go really far for awesome cannolis, Grand Ave. (Chicago), Little Italy (San Francisco) and Tenuta's (Kenosha, WI). I saw the pics and read the reviews for Tony Cannoli and thought, let's take a detour heading home from Milwaukee. And guess what, Tony himself was working and it turns out that he also graduated from Mundelein high school, like my relatives. I could eat an entire platter of these cannolis, or an entire box. And if you didn't bring a small cooler, you'll have to eat an entire box. It was a little hot on this particular day and well, it's a good reason to just eat every single cannoli. We weren't going directly home, yes, that was the reasoning. They have a number of different flavors but I always seem to enjoy the good ole favorites - ricotta with chocolate chips or pistachios. FYI, I wish these cannolis were a bit bigger. But then again, you can eat more flavors due to these not being as huge as what you may be accustomed to. Hope to be back asap, my family members moved (CA) after college (Palo Alto and Chicago). I'd like to take them here since they never took me, whilst they lived in Mundelein. These are some absolutely amazing cannoli. It's a very small place, basically just a hut, but they prep everything fresh for you and are super friendly. I got a variety of flavors to try and they were all fantastic, from the classic pistachio to the out of the box butterscotch. My favorite was the chocolate orange, I swear I could eat a box of those to myself. I've also had a few of the cookies and loved them as well, I'd say you can't go wrong here. This is a cute shop with super friendly staff and a lot of different cannoli flavors. I really wanted to like their cannolis, unfortunately I felt like they were lacking. I love authentic bubbly cannoli shells, so for me Tony's flat shells were not good. They also get extremely soggy if you don't eat or freeze them immediately. Traditional cannoli shells don't get soggy. Tony's filling was also looser than I wanted it to be, but it still tasted good. I am Italian and grew up in NY eating great cannolis, so for me Tony's misses the mark. read more

The cannoli is freaky amazing. Just loved it. Staff was so friendly and full of smiles. The location is small so don't blink, you will drive past it. I didn't want the cannoli to be finished They have seasonal cannoli on their menu too. I have not had any seasonal ones yet. Also, on Fridays, they offer cannoli milk shakes. The flavors can vary. I had a Spumoni milk shake and it was super good. You absolutely can't go wrong with it either. The only thing is that they only have one size and it's a small one (I forget if it's 10 oz or 12 oz size?). It's $5.75 for that small size. They also have cookies, cookie sandwiches, couple of cake varieties and gelato in cannoli shell. I would like to try their cookie sandwiches and gelato next. I received good service. I placed my order and paid it over the phone and had curbside pick-up. Check out this cute little shop when you are in Mundelein. I definitely recommend it. It's worth a visit. read more

If you're expecting a cannoli similar to the ones you find anywhere in Italy or Sicily, then you will be very disappointed. I lived in central Italy for 5 years and travelled all over (mostly Sicily) visiting family and cannoli was regular item at the family dinners. I can't even really classify Tony's dessert as a "Cannoli". First, a cannoli shell should stay fresh and not get soggy for at least a few hours. Our shells were mush and falling apart after only 20 minutes. That's probably because of the "signature crunchy, bubble-free shell"... cannoli shells are SUPPOSED to have bubbles; that's what gives it the unique texture and long-lasting crunch... big fail on the shells! The fillings that are supposed to be ricotta, might be... not sure. They really have no flavor of the ricotta. All around, for the price you pay, I expected MUCH more.
