In a city that has food trucks on every street... this is hands down the best one. I was told that if you are on Madison Ave, this is a must and I 100% agree. At lunchtime there's a long line but you can order ahead and pick up. If you aren't in a time crunch, go after 2. 62nd & Madison is in the heart of some of the city's best shopping and businesses, so you will see all types of people lined up to eat some of the best Mediterranean food around. It's so close to the park, you can walk over, grab a bench and have lunch outside on a nice day. Only open until 6:00 on weekdays and 5 on Saturday, plan your stop accordingly. Chicken Pita was fabulous! Tons of flavor. The warm pita was just crispy enough to hold the generous amount of fresh chicken, tomatoes, and onions with one of the best Tzatziki sauces on top. Mediterranean Chicken Pita is also stuffed with delicious grilled chicken breast, lettuce, tomato, onion, and adds olives, feta and a nice vinaigrette on top. Something to be aware of: This is a very popular food truck. The food is good. They also run out of food (in this case the spinach pie and burger). Sometimes they don't alert you when you're ordering online until you get to the truck (no text update). However, when they partially refund you, they DO NOT refund the tip. So I ended up paying the whole order tip amount on one sandwich that was picked up. My suggestion - If you're going to tip make it cash when you pick it up. Don't add it to your bill. Because, if there are any refunds, the percentage tip will not be refunded, which is pretty shady if you ask me. read more

This is hands down the best food cart. I have tried numerous food carts. Tony's dragon grille is one the best I have tried. No wonder there is always a long line for the order. On weekday at around 1pm. I saw more than 10 teams ahead of me. Took about 20 minutes to order and 10 minutes to recieved the order. If you go during their peak time, be prepared to wait a while. Parking around there is not convinient. All the adjacent roads are for commercial parking only until 7pm. If you drive, you might have some hard time finding a parking. The ticket polices are very active in this neighborhood. (I got a ticket). I ordered 3 bowls, steak and chicken bowl, pork soulvaki and grilles shrimp greek salad. Rice- very flavorful and tasty. Rich in herb. soft. Portion is a lot. Meats- used to be bigger in portion.. Chicken- well cooked. Mix of dark and white meats. Very tender. Goes well with the white sauce. Found a baby ROACH at the bottom of my rice bowl. And you know what that means? That means I didn't make this horrific discovery until *after* I made my way through all the food. That's right, I found this after I ate everything. To make matters worse I shared that bowl with my partner, who had never had Tony's before. Ironically we were even talking about how good the food was when suddenly I went still over the discovery. As if all of this wasn't enough, my experience in picking up the food was lackluster as well. I had ordered ahead for pickup since I came during the lunch hour on a weekday, and had a meeting to attend when I got back to work. In spite of this my order came out after my coworkers', who had stood in line. I didn't end up getting to eat the food since I got back to work when my meeting began, which was the whole reason I ended up sharing it later in the evening with my partner. I've tried this place twice and I'm not sure I get what the big deal is. I tried a pita sandwich and a bowl, both were pretty good but the flavors were largely unmemorable (non-distinct from any random Greek place).. One thing they do really well is grilling their meat - the chicken is as moist and tender as any I've had in quite a while. In short, this place is very expensive considering how tiny their portions are also you're always at risk since it's street food and they're obviously using the cheapest products. Headed over here on a Saturday afternoon for lunch in the neighborhood. Surprisingly open despite it not being the usual work crowd, with no line in front of the truck to order. Plenty of options to choose from here regarding meats, platters, sandwiches, salads, and the like. Settled on the Pork Souvlaki Pita ($9) and a Snapple ($2); ready within several minutes of placing the order. Pita is warm and soft, but toasted outside in order to keep firm over all the ingredients. Inside is a generous amount of chunky pork, tomatoes, and onions smothered in tzatziki sauce. Meat is really juicy and the tzatziki is enough to balance out the pita without being too soggy. Only complaint is that the spice level is lacking, so wish I had ordered a sauce as well (believe this is extra). Perfect place to grab a meal on the way to the park. read more

Here's a funny story.... about 7 years ago, I started working in the area and kept seeing my coworkers eat from this Tony's truck. Dubious me said "street meat? On Madison Avenue?" I finally tried Tony's a few months after that and boy, did I kick myself for not trying it earlier. Easily the best food truck and definitely the tastiest lunch option in this area. It's not typically what you think of when a food truck is involved. The food is gourmet and the hygiene is impeccable. The seafood is fresh and wild caught. The chicken is perfectly cooked and hormone free. The lamb gyro is sliced to order. The arugula is firm and crisp and the rice is perfectly fluffy. In 7 years of eating here, I have not gotten sick even one time. Again, even brick and mortar restaurants can't live up to those standards. The most awesome thing about Tony's Dragon Grille (besides the food) is the service. Konstantinos and Vendy are always friendly, quick and efficient. These guys are the best. There's a line when you go there for lunch, so it looks like everyone in the neighborhood already knows it's a solid truck. The dishes are generous, and the quality is good. I got a lamb gyro, and my partner chicken over rice and a salad. The meat was great. I love the rice. I have my issues with the pita (but my issue is with all Greek style pitas compared to fluffier pita pockets). This is probably the best food truck in NYC. Very clean and there's always a line (a good sign) - not that the service is slow, it's just a popular place. The food is always fresh and the portions are very generous. My go to is the grilled chicken platter, which includes huge chunks of grilled white meat, rice and a salad. I've also tried the shrimp platter which is the same, but with shrimp instead of chicken. An honorable mention is the grilled chicken pita. Love Tony's food truck. Never disappoints. I've tried all the meats and every one of them is always on point. My favorite is the chicken and steak. My father used to come here for years before he retired. Recently we were in the area and he was raving about it so we stopped by and my life is now changed for the better. My friend Anthony insists on taking us to Manhattan on a regular basis, and dragging us all over town to try different Halal Carts. This concept has become so famous among the cart owners, that one of them has actually named his cart after it. "Tony Draggin'us." Of course because he's a Halal Cart owner, he spelled it wrong, hence "Tony Dragonas." What to get: Shish Kebab Plate What else: Combo or anything Anything else: My bum bum is on fire, and the next paragraph will explain why So I know the real reason for the name of this cart. Which is that if you put too much hot sauce on this thingy, then your bottom will be on fire. Hence "Dragon Ass." Get it? Now you understand. So NYC is full of absolutely amazing Halal Carts. And when you say Goodbye, I say Halal. Halal, Halal. I don't know why you say goodbye, I say Halal. And this one is one of the very best there is. It's definitely top 10 in NYC, and may even be top 5. It's a little behind Sammy's Halal and Biryani Cart, and it's competing with the likes of King Of Falafel (Queens), Halal Guys, Uncle Gussy's and Halal Guys. So I'd say yes, it would just about make the top 5. I don't know why the owner is so angry though. You should come here with us some time, if only to hear "Tony Rag-on-us." He really does. He was damn right. This is some of the juiciest, tastiest meat I've tried before. I was absolutely floored by how damn good it was. Bravo, Tony. Bravo. If this place sold Argentinian food, it'd be renamed to "Tony Patagonias" but it doesn't. Which is a shame because Argentinian food is f***ing awesome. I want to send a massive shout out (as usual) to my friend Kashif for recommending this particular cart so vehemently and emphatically that I ended up finding my way here, and absolutely loved it. But this time, instead of adding the white sauce and dressing on my salad, I chose to have them on the side. I also asked for the grilled peppers and onions. I ordered the grilled chicken platter which was $8 and comes with a huge portion of food. I was so pleased to discover how tender the chicken was and the grilled veggies were so good as well. Everything was so flavorful that I didn't even have to add any white sauce, so the meal tasted super healthy. Nothing was greasy, like my first experience. I would suggest not adding any sauce on your platter if you want a light and healthy lunch. Try to get there before noon, otherwise the line gets a little long. Great, fast service. read more
