The owner came across as rude, inconsiderate, and aggressive, which immediately made the environment feel hostile and unwelcoming. The service itself was also disappointing. The nails were thick, uneven, and not at all what I requested or expected. I understand that everyone goes through challenges, but customers should always be treated with basic respect. If someone is unhappy in their work, it may be time to consider a change rather than taking that frustration out on clients. I strongly suggest saving your time and going to Soleil Venice instead. I came in on Sunday and they were able to take me in as a walk-in. I requested a gel mani-pedi and was seated right away. The stay is so friendly, and their services are top notch and at a great price point. It's not the fanciest nail salon, but they will get you in and out quickly with a fantastic service. It's a family run business, and they drive all the way from Orange County everyday to their shop here in Culver City. I am so happy with mani-pedi! I'll start by saying if you don't need your nails to last longer than a week this could be a possible option. I called and made an appointment with Angel (who my coworker recommended) for a gel mani. When I got there and told them I had an appointment, they told me to have a seat. The shop is very basic no frills. Alex ended up taking me to his station and doing my nails. No one acknowledged the fact that Angel was busy with another customer nor did they give me the option to wait for her to be done. Alex was helpful with the color selection as they do offer a lot of colors and his work is solid. Now fast forward to 5 days later, my nail is already chipping even with 3 coats of polish. read more

I would strongly caution others before visiting this nail salon. A friend and I got pedicures. We both had the basic pedicure. Lady kept asking my friend to get a gel pedicure, I and her repeatedly said NO. I was seated right next to her, so I saw it was a BASIC pedicure no gel. I was shocked when I paid for everything they still charged for a gel pedicure at a much higher price. The pricing difference is significant, and it felt very misleading. The salon was nearly empty at the time, which already raised some concerns. While I was there, a couple walked in, and when the man sat down for his pedicure, he noticed someone else's nail clippings floating in the water. He questioned whether they reuse their liners, which is extremely concerning from a hygiene standpoint. Afterward, I called the manager to try and resolve the overcharging issue, but he was rude, mean, and even threatening over the phone. His attitude only added to the frustration. Between the overcharge, poor customer service, and questionable cleanliness, I will not be returning. I have told my friends in Culver City not to go to this salon. Horrible. The worst customer service I've ever gotten at a nail salon. Very rude and cold lady who did my pedi. She completely ignored me whenever I said anything to her or asked a question. No eye contact, no response, No smile; nothing. I have to admit though, the actual pedi came out nice (the only reason they get 2 stars instead of 1). Wish I can say the same for my mani. Updating this review! This is still my go-to spot for nails in LA after all these years. I moved away for a while but now I'm back and had to return to my beloved Tony's nails If you're looking for the best acrylic nails and gel polish at reasonable prices, don't sleep on Tony's! Seriously, I think they're the last spot in LA where you're not paying over $100 just for a basic fill and single color gel polish. In fact, you can get an acrylic fill with gel polish (I almost always get a French tip) PLUS gel pedicure for right around $100 before tip. Truly can't beat the prices especially with the quality work they do! I've never left disappointed. Hygiene is also important to me and they always use new tools and place a plastic wrapper around the foot soaking tub at the pedicure chairs that is thrown away and replaced for each client. The nail techs are all super nice and still remember me even after I moved out of state! You never have to worry about which tech you see, they all do a great job. Love Tony's! read more

Edited 5.14.21- still love everyone and my nails but knocking a star off. It seems useless to make appointments here. The last few times, I've called a few days a head, made an appointment and still had to wait. Today was kind of the last straw...I was running 5 minutes late, for an appointment I made days ago, and I called and let them know. I get here at 1:06 (after calling!!) and my fave, who my appointment is with, is putting a full set on someone else. Absolutely not. If you make an appointment and no show or don't call, I get it. However, I have never done any of those things. What's the point in an appointment? I drop at least 100 every time I'm here. I also make appointments during my lunch from work for a reason. Additionally they just put someone else in a chair, who walked in, no appointment, ahead of me. Not cool. So, unfortunately due to COVID, my old nail salon hasn't reopened :-/ Due to that, I've been on the hunt for a new spot that is just as awesome. After trying a few so/so spots, I found Tony's!! Am I glad I did! They are currently set up out back - you can park on the side lot, just not on the liquor store side. I opted for a full set and pedicure. Cindy did my set and I am blown away. I've been coming to Tony's nails for the last 10 years! I do gel manicures and regular polish pedicures for the most part. They are great with shaping and open to my design requests! My gel nails last upwards of three weeks, and I usually ask for Kim or Tony. Grateful for all the times they've taken care of my wrecked nails! Give them a try! On day 9 & 10, 6 of my gel nails were coming up so bad I had to trim them down. My hair was getting stuck under them while I washed my hair so I had no choice. The best time to go is during the daytime and during the week if you can. I normally get my nails done with Kim she's great! But I've also tried Cindy who is awesome also. My husband and I prefer going to May for pedicures but honestly everyone is good and I've had no complaints. I've been frequenting this shop off and on for 4 years. I never wait when I have an appt and I'm in and out. Nails are pricey these days and I find them to be pretty reasonable. I like that they have an atm available that's $1 because I never carry cash. Typically never had an issue until yesterday. Id gotten my nails done by Kim this past Friday (my daughter and I) Normally Tony did my gel fills until I got them done by Kim and she questioned who did my nails before I told her Tony. I came in with extremely sore nail beds due to excessive drilling. Kim got my right. She doesnt drill excessively and does a phenomenal job. My daughter receive a little manicure by another gentleman- he just gave her a $6 polish. We returned on Sunday because my daughter's polish came off of 3 of her nails and she wanted to get them repolished so they looked cute for school on Monday. That's the ONLY reason we went back. Otherwise, we wouldnt care if they were peeling by day 2. We were in the area so I dropped by and asked of someone could polish really quick. Tony was there that day. He said he could do them. He immediately started filing the TOP of her nails? Scratching up the surface. He explained that the natural oils on our nails makes polish come off so making a rough surface will prevent the polish from coming off (I get that, I do) but I asked him NOT to file the top of her nails off and he continued doing her other 2 nails! I told him she is 6 yrs old and I didnt want her nails damaged like that just for a temporary polish. He ranted and got an attitude saying if he didnt do it we'd have to come back to get them repolished and really that wasnt the case. Any other time my daughter has gotten her nails done the polish didnt come off so quickly and the same gentleman did them (WITHOUT filing the top of her nails) so I told my daughter to get up because 1) I didnt like that Tony didnt respect my request to stop filing on my daughters nails and 2) his attitude was just foul to my surprise. I dont know what he was going thru that day but that pissed me off and eventhough Kim did my nails, Im thinking I'll be finding a new salon. Tearing up my baby's nails.
