My boyfriend and I stopped by for lunch on Monday and WOW. We were highly impressed and can't wait to go back! The restaurant itself is located in the heart of bixby knolls. It's spacious, bright and inviting. It is ran by a family, the father is the the main chef and everything is freshly prepared! My boyfriend and I shared a shrimp taco, blackened chicken panini and strawberry stuffed french toast with an Horchata. The shrimp taco was super fresh and filling, I could've made two tacos out of one. The panini was a great portion, the avocado really took it to the next level. The panini comes with a side and we chose fries. Even their fries were delicious, they were super thick and well seasoned just how I like them. The stuffed french toast was very gourmet like and perfect to end our lunch. I love horchata and I've tasted so many before, this one was so good! It didn't have rice residue on the bottom and it tasted like arroz con leche in a drink version. Sometimes some horchatas are overly sweet, too watery, taste too much like vanilla, or there's tons of rice residue at the bottom. This one was PERFECT. Next time my boyfriend better get his own and not drink out of mine! We ate all of this for $30 with tax! Such great prices! The service was also incredible. We had such a sweet and attentive waitress who we had a great conversation with. I believe her name was Elizabeth. After we finished eating, the owner came out to greet us and made sure we had a great dinning experience! The owners and employees are so kind. We can't wait to go back and try other menu items! Finally got a chance to try Tony's Kitchen. I was excited by the Mahi Mahi wrap. It was flavorful with a little kick. Next time I'd order it with a little less rice to get a better balance. Sadly, the menu has changed. It no longer comes with mango salsa but instead has guacamole. I requested light guacamole but still found it to be too much. I think the mango salsa would have made it lighter and more freshing. My order also included a side of fried zucchini. They were thick, crunchy and not overly breaded. I had the wet asada burrito, half green, half red sauce. My son had the chicken tenders with wedge fries. Also, a lemonade with chia mint. Everything was delicious and customer service was fantastic. They have a big menu and I look forward to coming back to try some other items. read more

Stopped by Tony's for dinner during First Fridays at Bixby Knolls and everything we had was delicious! The restaurant was packed given the busy time but we got seated promptly. We tried the hard shell tacos - they are authentic tacos dorados. And we also had a torta sandwich that was huge! Also very good. They were selling churros in honor of First Fridays and we think they should definitely add them permanently to the menu. Of the best churros we've ever had - crispy outside and super soft inside. I went and tried Tony's Kitchen on Atlantic (next door to Meema's) today after seeing all the good reviews. I had the blackened Mahi-mahi wrap with the fried zucchini. Super fresh, amazing flavor and very well priced! The picture doesn't do it justice- there was a LOT of fish in there. All this was about $12 before tip, easily shareable. The fried zucchini is sooo good, and comes with a side of ranch. The lady helping take my order was very friendly, the place is super clean.. Will definitely be back. Go support them! read more

Hubby had lasagna, I tasted it because he said sauce not flavor, so I tasted it too, it was bland, and tasted like tomato sauce from a can, no seasoning, garlic, or basil, just tomato sauce. The lasagna itself was good lots of cheese and meat. I had the chicken marsala, the chicken was about 3 ounces, very dry, no flavor. I ordered noodles instead of the mashed potatoes, the noodles came to me as the penne pasta noodles rather than an actual noodle, the noodles were cooked okay the sauce was tasty, but had too much dry tomatoes in it, I left a pile of it in my plate at the end of my meal although it was tasty it just for $18 did not fit the bill. The garlic bread we both got on our meals was very good it was flavored, and the bread was nice and soft on the inside and cook just right on the outside. My g baby had the shrimp quesadilla she said it was tasty although I don't like shrimp I went by what she said, so that was her opinion the serving look nice it was a huge serving of avocado salsa picadillo and sour cream. I'm kind of unsure about the decorating inside it looks like it was supposed to be an Italian restaurant that just went variety on what they serve, there is even barbecued ribs on the menu, I would also reserve barbecue for an actual barbecue restaurant, not for a place that serves too much of a variety of dishes. We probably won't go back there again but just thought we'd try it. I understand the small restaurants rely on good reviews and pictures, I feel bad that I could not write something extraordinary outside of the blue cheese was delicious on the salad and, like I said the garlic bread was exceptional the lasagna was tasty the sauce was not in review the marsala needs to be revisited by their cook and how it should be prepared, also. read more

Stopped for the first time at Tony's. We had delicious Mexican food this go round. Started with chips and salad. Homemade chips and fabulous salsa with just enough spice. I was excited to try this place. Unfortunately it didn't quite live up to my expectations! I will say the waitress was nice. I ordered a torta, which was advertised to come with avocado on it, and the torta I received did not have avocado. My husband ordered a burrito, which he did enjoy. He went to the restroom to wash his hands and he came out saying it smelled awful and to not go in. (Not a good sign!) The prices were okay. Unfortunately we spent the rest of the night in the restroom when we got home. Something we ate there did not agree with us. They do not drop off your food and leave you. They ensure you are happy and content during your meal. Now about the food. We have eaten there 4 times and every time we dine there we try something different. Whether it's Italian, Mexican or American food , the taste, quantity and quality it is AWESOME. Stumbled up of this place while in Long Beach and decided to surprise my daughter with lunch. I ordered the shrimp and lobster pasta. What at hit! At first sight I thought I'd made a boo boo due to the fact I only saw one piece of a small piece of lobster and the shrimp looked uncooked and unflavored . Being I was on a time frame I didn't have time to send it back so I decided to try it in the restaurant before giving it to my daughter. What a surprise! The shrimp was not only extremely taste but had an extra kick of garlic butter! Yummy! Oh and the sauce, the sauce was delicious!!! Once I began to eat it I then noticed the lobster pieces through the pasta; not much but the pasta was so good you would forget all about not having much lobster. Long story long haha, I had to hurry and put it away before the treat for my daughter would have soon became lunch for me! I must admit that from the outside, Tony's Kitchen doesn't draw you in for its decor but don't let the outside keep you from coming in. My son and I took a leap of faith and said "lets try it!" "What have we got to lose". We walked in and the place was empty. Bad sign usually but we still wanted to give them a chance. The young lady approached us and said sit anywhere you'd like! After looking over the menu that in my opinion cover A-Z of cuisines, I chose the Torta de Milanesa and my son the "Chicken Alfredo". Mexican vs Italian! The food arrived quickly and we were both impressed by the presentation. Our respective entre portions where generous. I took a bite of my torta and it was love at first bite! The meat just melted in my mouth, the bread was fresh and the avocado was perfectly ripe. Best torta I can remember having since my last trip to Mexico. My son's pasta in his words was also on par with great taste and flavor. We will definitely be back to Tony's Kitchen to try something else from the menu. Last week was a rough week on so many levels. I was tired, and excitedly looked forward to the weekend for a time of rest. Cooking dinner for the family was not on my list to do. I had been driving by Tony's Kitchen several times, curious on what they had to offer. I decided to stop by. What a great find! I entered to find a bright, spacious, and clean restaurant. I was greeted with a warm welcome. They have such an awesome variety of menu offerings; I was able to find something for everyone in my household. And while I waited for our food, I was able to comfortably sit, have a great cup of coffee, and exhale for a couple of minutes. The food was outstanding! We had the shrimp scampi, fried zucchini, bbq ribs, spinach and cheese ravioli, hamburger/fries, and salads. The fact that the restaurant is owned and operated by a family, just further makes it a great option and a wonderful addition to the Bixby Knolls area. read more
