I woke up super hungry and feeling too lazy to make anything at home. I decided to drive to Eat Fantastics on 4th street in LB since that's like the closest breakfast spot near me, but as I was driving to fantastics I saw Mustards Cafe on the corner thought hmmm let me check it out. I pulled over and did a quick google search to see what they have on the menu and BAM, I immediately knew I needed to come here. They have Vietnamese iced coffee. Do y'all know how hard it is to find a spot in this part of town with good viet iced coffee? It's far and few between but luckily Mustards Cafe has it on the menu. It's funny bc I never was drawn to this spot before when it was the weird crypto burger place but Mustards was calling my name. They have a parking lot which if you live in LB you know how nice it is to go to a spot that has its own parking lot. I went in and the lady at the counter greeted me with a smile , took my order and then sent me off with my avocado egg and cheese croissant alongside the viet iced coffee. The coffee was so good and the sandwich was perfect for breakfast. The price was only $12! There are other things on the menu like burgers, sandwiches and smoothies. No donuts here but I think if they had donuts they would be even more popular. All in all this place is a great alternative to the fantastic cafe down the street. Now would I sit here and hang out? Probably not, and that has nothing to do with the establishment itself, I just don't think it's gives the vibe to sit and enjoy your food it's more like get in and get out. The food was ok-- nothing to write home about. I had a bagel with egg, cheese and bacon and a honeydew smoothie. My husband had a lox bagel with a matcha strawberry latte. He enjoyed it, said it was ok. The 3 stars come from service. While everyone was nice enough, I was getting frustrated by the employee (maybe the owner?) constantly bombarding me about the menu as I was trying to decide my breakfast and communicate the actual menu with my husband. Good prices, good food. Really happy to see a nice little cafe like this open up in the area. It's perfect when you're looking for an affordable option for breakfast or lunch. I had a bacon, egg, and cheese on a bagel and holy moly those bagels are HUGE. Are they going to win awards for the best bagel? No. But are they tasty, filling, and pretty cheap ($6.25 for the sandwhich)? Yes! They have a variety of coffee and tea drinks. On this rainy morning I was really hankering for a hot chocolate. I'm pretty sure the hot chocolates are the ones from those machines that diners use. And that is EXACTLY what I wanted. It was rich, sweet, and CHOCOLATEY. A lot of times I find the fancy cafe hot chocolates made with steamed milk to be too mild flavored. These aren't. I also took a Thai iced tea to go for later and they made it with less ice so I wouldn't have to worry about it becoming diluted as the ice melted. This location has hosted at least 5 restaurants prior to mustards with mixed results. Mustards is using the walk up window as well as limited indoor seating. It has a small parking lot. The menu is a variety of breakfast sandwiches, pastries fresh juices, smoothies salads burgers and sandwiches. Speciality coffee as well as grab & go beverages. Service was acceptable. I ordered a ham egg & cheese croissant and a salted Carmel latte. Everything was good but not exceptional. The small dining area has glass on all sides . They have a variety of food and drinks being offered from your typical breakfast pastries (like bagels, croissants, and muffin) to breakfast sandwiches to sandwiches/burgers and lastly, fresh juice/smoothies. I ordered the jalapeño ham and cheese croissant and had it warmed up. It was HUGE! One of the biggest croissants I've ever had. It was nice and doughy on the inside. So I did a quick revisit it was at the end of the day the service was still the same very polite and welcoming this time I ordered a 12 piece wing with two flavors of lemon pepper and sweet chili they didn't come with fries but I did order some and those where shoe string style the wings were very crispy I do wish the sweet chili had a little more spice but I know not a lot of people eat hot but it was missing spice but still delicious the lemon pepper were just as satisfying perfectly coated with seasoning read more

Mustards cafe is a cute eatery on the corner of junipero and 7th. The food is classic cafe food but executed with tons of flavor. My girlfriend and I got the sugar cronut, sausage breakfast burrito, and egg and avocado breakfast sandwich on a cheese bagel. All the food was superb and it was all at a price I haven't seen since the 2010's. If you live nearby I couldn't reccomend this place enough. Do NOT go here. Extremely disappointed with the lack of customer service. I ordered a breakfast sandwich and was given the wrong order. Unfortunately, it contained fish something I'm allergic to, which could have caused a serious health issue. (Die) Because I was stuck at work, I wasn't able to return immediately. When I called back on the phone during my lunch break, I politely asked if they could exchange it for a turkey sandwich. I was told "no" and blamed for not coming back sooner. There was zero accountability, no empathy, and no effort to make things right. Completely unprofessional and inconsiderate. At that point, I decided not to argue further. They can keep the $10 I'll take my business elsewhere. Overall, a very frustrating and disappointing experience. I will never come here again. read more

The fresh baked croissants are amazing. Everything is fresh, the avocado salad is crisp and delicious, Richard's hamburger is great. It's order at the counter, and they bring the food to the table. Tables and chairs are sturdy and comfy, dining area is good sized. We've lived in this area a long time, and have been waiting for a place like this. We'll come here a lot.
