I set my alarms for this one. And let me just say, oh boy what a GEM. Amazing staff, super friendly and accommodating. The food was superb. I ordered a sausage egg and cheese on a roll. Upon getting home and taking two bites, I immediately got up and marched back to the store and ordered a second one the same way. The eggs were so fluffy, the sausage was savory and the cheese complimented everything. Their coffee is top-notch as well and I can go for thirds right now! Definitely recommend. Oh and the prices! This mom and pop shop definitely has some of the best Italian sandwiches I've ever had! The staff is super friendly and the sandwiches definitely do not disappoint. They have a good selection of different sandwiches to choose from, whether you prefer cold or hot, but I definitely recommend getting the Tony's Special. I got the Tony's Special with fresh mozzarella and it was perfect, not only the cross section with its different layers of Italian meats but also perfect to my stomach. They definitely do not skimp on the meat and the addition of cheeses and peppers were the perfect touch. There is also a very tasty sauce that soaks into the bread and adds even more flavor, which I didn't even think was possible! They are cash only but you only need about $15 (it costs less than that) to have this amazing experience for your taste buds. I was traveling for work and stopped in here for breakfast. I hit the jackpot! Breakfast sandwich was delicious & the bagel nice and soft. Wowz. I didn't even realize this was a five stars deli when I came here on a Wednesday afternoon. I can see why it is now! There isn't a parking lot dedicated to the deli. However, there is metered parking in the front and residential parking around the corner of the deli. If there isn't a line inside the restaurant, you can probably get a sandwich in-and-out within 10-15minutes. Once you walk-in, you will be greeted by a server who will take and make your order. During this particular visit, I ordered a Tony's Special with Fresh Mozzarella on a hero with a little vinaigrette. It is definitely better than "regular" mozzarella but I feel like you get more meat when you do order it with "regular" mozzarella. Tony's Special was something off the menu, that runs around $10. It is worth trying because of how fresh, clean, and simple around the mixture of meat, cheese, and bread. If you ever need a great sandwich, I recommend you to stop by Tony's for some of Tony's Special. Btw, they accept cash only but an ATM machine is available. read more

I have wanted to try Tony's Beechhurst Deli for a long time but I was never in the area. Today was my first time. I decided to take a ride there and try some of the delicious food I've been reading about in other reviews. The Service: There were several people behind the counter eager to assist all of the waiting customers. The counter people were all very nice, helpful and personable to everyone in the store which was very welcoming. The Food: so on this first visit I bought some Italian bread which was excellent!! I've tried many places and I was born & raised in Brooklyn so I have high standards when it comes to certain foods & Italian bread is one of them. The bread here was excellent!! I also bought some American cheese & Swiss cheese. Both sliced to order. Now, I've bought the same cheeses in many other places but for some reason, these both were very creamy. Very tasty. And the last three items I tried were the meatballs (very picky about meatballs & these were DELICIOUS!), a container of red sauce (very tasteful & flavorful but not spicy. Perfectly seasoned!!!) & lastly, the penne alla vodka (EXCELLENT! Again perfectly seasoned but not spicy!). It was so nice to find food this good!! I'm so happy I finally made the visit today & I'm glad that I have leftover food, too! Looks like I will be making this a weekly stop!! read more

I took a lengthy bicycle ride thru the northern tip of Queens and I stopped in to Tony's for a sandwich. If you haven't been to Tony's it is worth the trip. There were plenty of "characters" in the place, and the staff were all very busy. I ordered a Grilled Chicken and Portobello Panino, and a bottle of Poland spring water. This is one of the best Italian delicatessen's that are still running in Queens.which means it is one of the top notch places in the New York area to buy a sandwich, hot plate of Italian food and other products. When you go to most places and and ask for chicken cutlet sandwich it's usually not homemade and made fresh like most salumeria (Italian) delis serve it. In college point where I live there was one classic deli, nicknamed the smelly deli.lol There was always certain meets hanging and sausages and other classic Italian items from the ceiling. This place for lunchtime used to have a line around the block for years. Sadly, it has went out of business and thankfully, I started going to Tony's here in Whitestone the next town over. Please note that this review is solely for the espresso. And boy what an espresso it is. By far some of the best espresso I have ever had. Perfect temperature and perfect viscosity. The sugar floats for a moment on the slightly frothy head before it disappears underneath into the dark abyss of these beautifully roasted and prepared beans. Tony's Beechurst is one of the few places I will walk into without knowing anyone, and five minutes later, we are all friends when exiting. So I'm not usually compelled to write reviews, but my husband just brought home a sandwich and frozen cappuccino for us to try. We live in Bayside and I'm not sure why we haven't tried Tony's sooner! The place was bumping and having tried it, there's no doubt in my mind why. We had the Tony's special (sweet) and it was exactly what a sandwich should be! Next time we will do a sweet and a hot. Everyone was ordering the penne alla vodka while he was there and I couldn't be more annoyed that he didn't bring any home! Frozen cappuccino didn't taste like artificial garbage, it was GOOD. This is a formal apology to Tony's Beechhurst Deli as this review is a month old but I had to share it. Apologies to the other Deli's/Bodegas/Restaurants/Bistro/Cafe whatever. Tony's Beechhurst hospitality was the best I've encountered ever when it comes to food. My boy told me this before I've arrived and most of us probably watched their video. 100% real and genuine. It's like I knew these people for decades the way were talking shop. Same with the regulars that frequent this place. Just great people all across the board. Oh and that was my first time at Tony's. Now let's talk about the food. I had a Robiolo and a Chicken Chipotle. You want to know if I'm enjoying my food? When every bite have my shaking my head in disbelief lol. It's not a restaurant but the service Is great every time I've gone. Just don't try to cut the line when you obviously see it forming, if not ask the people!. Food: a must get would be the Tonys special on a semolina. I get it with sweet peppers and the hero itself can be split for 2 meals. Check out the pictures. They don't go cheap on the meat, so no worries. Other notable food are the daily hot food they have. I've seen baked ziti, penne with red sauce, chicken parm, broccoli rabe, fresh meatballs and the list goes on. Check out what they have before leaving, you might find something you want to bring home. The fact you can get a huge quality hero for under $10 is just rare these days.
