A D.C. staple, Tony's Breakfast appears as a humble takeout spot, but is popular every morning of the week. The prices are affordable and the portion sizes are plenty. You can get a wide range of options from traditional breakfast items like pancakes and eggs to lunch items like wings and shrimp.

Nasty dry salmon cakes no seasoning old potatoes completely nasty no seasoning again. Never have I thrown out a whole plate of food until today . Food looks like jail food, Would never recommend and I don't understand how this is a staple McDonalds tastes better which is sad. Update: Owner replied 3 times deleted what he says and switches it with Thank You. Sorry bud, food is a** Look how dry your salmon cake is

Fried whiting dinner with collard greens and mac and cheese sides.

Breakfast: omelette was good; grits were not bad; pancakes were not bad but too dense and doughy to be good; oatmeal was not bad but too consistent with a pudding to be good. Dinner: fried whiting was good; collard greens were not bad; mac and cheese was not edible due to unpleasant taste. Pickup service was fine. The portion to price ratio is good. These is something about these DC soul food restaurants. The food carries an odor of wastewater. I assume it's because the water used to cook the food is not filtered. It's a strange consistency.

Walking to this place was a bit spooky. Looks unappealing outside, okay on the inside. The price of these items are lower than I expected, coming from a local place. The amount of food you get is worth the price. I wish they could season the fries and cheesesteak more. Other than that, the cheesesteak was delicious and not skimped. I'd skip on the fries. I meant to order the wedges that were on display, but I called it fries. Service was normal, nothing over the top. They didn't give me a receipt, but no biggy. I'd definitely come back here to try their breakfast items.

I've been coming here for years. Always good food and prices were always pretty good to me. Service isn't the best, but avg. Service is better when they are not busy. Not a sit down spot, they have a very small counter maybe 7 feet, but the place is small. Some menu items aren't worth it to me anymore, like the big breakfast. 2 eggs, home fries, bacon, sausage and pancakes. Substitutes are an additional charge. I get turkey bacon and turkeys sausage. That platter after tax is $16.55. I think that's high for a takeout only breakfast spot. I was surprised when they told me the price. No substitutes w/o tax is $13. I think that's okay if you eat pork. I'll stick to regular breakfast platters, breakfast sandwiches and wings and wedges. Wings are always a sure thing and I'm upset I got this breakfast instead of those wings lol.

So we chose this place because Tyler the Creator mentioned it while he was performing at Something in the Water! We were visiting all the way from California. We ordered so much food and were so hungry I didn't even stop to take a picture! The portions sizes we good for the price! We ordered pancakes, French toast, bacon, eggs, waffles, a club sandwich, potato wedges, breakfast sandwich and chicken wings! All good!! The main thing I was eager to taste was the chicken. I'm picky about fried chicken and it didn't disappoint! The chicken was well seasoned and came off the bone easily! A super plus!! It's a small spot and there's no seating. It was ok with us since we were fine with eating at our car. Definitely a recommend if your in DC!

Egg white & cheese, spinach, tomato, fried onion, Mayo. On white toast. So good.

When you think about breakfast on the go, when I have to go to work it's Tony's. Located in the H street corridor lies this spot. I typically get one of these sandwiches or French toast. Both are decent, you won't get any 4 star Michelin meals, but you'll get a more home style type of breakfast. Even though there's usually a crowd, I call my order in ahead of time and it's done by the time I get there. Their prices went up slightly after 1/1/23 but it's ok, they'll continue to get my business.

From the moment we sat down, our server Chad took great care of us. He was attentive without hovering, kept our drinks refilled, answered all of our questions, and even helped us find the perfect sauce pairing for one of our appetizers. When you're out catching up with friends, having a server who helps the meal flow smoothly makes such a difference, and Chad absolutely did that. I started off with the Fleur de Lis. And it was perfect! For Apps, we started with the fried green tomatoes topped with crab and balsamic glaze, the calamari, and the crab dip. All appetizers were delicious and disappeared quickly from the table. For our entrees, our group ordered a variety of dishes including the salmon, steak salad, seafood pasta and a trout dish. Everything that came out looked beautiful and was enjoyed by the person who ordered it. We spent just as much time admiring everyone's plates as we did eating them! Of course, I couldn't leave without dessert to take home!! The caramel macchiato cheesecake sounded delicious and turned out to be a perfect ending to the day while watching a movie!! What we enjoyed most was the overall experience. Good food, great conversation, lots of laughter, and excellent service from Chad. It was one of those afternoons where none of us were in a hurry to leave because we were enjoying ourselves so much. We'll definitely be back. Thank you, Chad, for helping make our Queens' lunch such a memorable one!

The "classic" Fuddruckers is upstairs. They have Burger Bar by Fuddruckers on the main level (for guests 21+ only). We were feeling nostalgic and opted for the classic experience. We stopped by before a concert at Capital One Arena, so it was busier than usual. You order at the register and then seat yourself. There was a winding line, but it moved quickly. There was definitely some sticker shock at first - most of the items average to about $24-$25, which is pretty high for a "fast casual" spot. The exotic burgers were $27. These are stadium food prices outside of the stadium... I can pay the same price or less for a burger at a nice sit-down spot. To lessen the blow, the prices are for combo meals, which include a drink and fries. The drink is almost necessary to kill time. Aside from the price, my biggest knock is that kitchen service is sloooooow. We waited over 20 minutes for our food, others waited 30. They take your name down when you order at the register, and then they will call it over the PA system when it's ready. Order pick-up announcements seemed far and few between. People started crowding around the pick-up window, waiting for their orders to come out, because everyone was getting antsy. "Fast food" this is not. Granted, the place was busy and filled with fellow concert-goers, but there is a sign on their menu board that basically says everything is made fresh-cooked to order, so take a seat, enjoy your drink, and be patient! (I'm paraphrasing, but it's essentially a disclaimer saying, "We're slow, but don't say we didn't warn you.") This tells me the slowness is pretty commonplace. They have a Coke Freestyle machine (the touchscreen soda machine with a bunch of different flavor combinations), but I found the flavors to be weak. I think the ratios of syrup inside the machine are off. I ordered the Philly cheesesteak combo ($20) with tots. Annoyingly, they made my order wrong and served me the standard potato wedges instead. Since we waited so long for our orders, I didn't press the issue. They have a toppings bar where you can add lettuce, tomatoes, onions, pickles, pico de gallo, banana peppers, etc. There's also a condiment station, but the piece de resistance is the nacho cheese machine! The melty cheese machine, offering both nacho cheese and jalapeño nacho cheese, is a game-changer. The fries already come seasoned (some are more salty and seasoned than others), but since they are the meaty potato wedge cut, you need some extra dipping sauce. Sure, there's ketchup available, but dispensing a warm blanket of nacho cheese over your fries is where it's at. The nacho cheese was great for dipping my sandwich and all the fries in. Yum, yum, yum! No major complaints about my Philly Cheesesteak. It was pretty standard- soft bread, shaved meat (not too greasy but a little on the dry side), cheese, grilled onions. Food was hot and fresh, but I wouldn't say it's worth the wait. I do think portion size is commensurate with what you're paying. My friend ordered the Ribeye sandwich and it was just as good as he remembered it. There was limited seating available, but we were able to snag seats at a table with another group. Staff did bus tables quickly to allow new diners to get seated. Tables also had paper towel rolls as the napkins. Some were a little grimy on top from condiment spills, etc., but that's more on fellow customers than the restaurant. Overall, I would say the food is overpriced for the quality, and while the nacho cheese is its saving grace, the wait for food was too off-putting for me.

We should have gone to get chinese in chinatown across the street. The bar on the first floor was roped off and empty, even though all the televisions were on. A very kind, sweet employee yelled down the steps at us, to help us find the elevator to dining upstairs. It brings you out in the pass, which I thought was odd, but I do like being able to see behind the scenes. All the machines were broken. No fun soda, no cheese sauce... the "toppings bar" was open, but fairly useless since my burger came with lettuce, Onions, avocado, salsa and cheese, and was completely raw. I'm all for rare beef but this was a bad texture. Jeremy's two burgers were also raw and while he was hungry enough to plow through his first burger (something with an egg on it), once I started dismantling mine and explaining why, he didn't want much of the second... we threw away so much food and I absolutely hate that. The onion rings were decent. Jeremy got Tater tots of which he did not eat many and I didn't try them. Perhaps if there had been cheese sauce available we could have topped them better. So the whole experience was a bust. And the dining room was empty except for a table of people discussing not wanting to be the side piece. The view out the floor to ceiling windows was the best part. You could put something fabulous in that space. Fuddruckers doesn't deserve that view.

The quesadilla took forever... we assume they probably forgot it. It was poorly put together and did not come with sour cream or pico as advertised. When I went to order another drink I was told happy hour was over at 8. The menu states 9:30p. At that point we were over it. Made a reservation not like you really need one, but we made one and was seated down pretty quickly. The host was nice and friendly and the wait staff said hello to us within the five minutes of us seating. I appreciated how family-friendly this place was, they give these cute little animal boxes with different things inside and crayons to keep the kids entertained. The decoration is fun with a lot of outdoor vibes and stuffed real animals. They bring out a side of chip and a yogurt dill dip that's interesting, a fun idea. The food, mhm so we ordered a lot! Crab dip: 2.5/5 not too bad but not memorable, okay amount of crab, flavors were too heavy on the cream cheese/fillers but just okay, they need more bread with it but the chips helped. Prob wouldn't order again Crab cake: 3.8/5 pretty good size and good amount of crab and good flavor probably the best dish that we had ordered here! Would get again. Burger: 3/5 granted I did order this medium well for my kid, but the burger was charred a little too much around the burger, giving it a sort of dry crunch on the edges and charcoal burn vibes. Not my favorite texture that I would want on a burger, but perhaps it would've been different if I ordered a medium? Bread itself was a little stale/crunchy which I did not prefer how it was cooked/prepared. Overall, it was just okay. Ribs: 2.5/5 the ribs were half off ribs so I decided to go for it because of the good deal. But it was just okay, being that Blackhog barbecue is right next-door (thier dry rub ribs are amazing), I would hope that they would step up their barbecue rib game. For a " full rack" there were only nine bones and seemed a little smaller than what I'm used to. It's very heavy on the sauce which I didn't think was the best pairing and wasn't the best flavor bbq sauce. Overall, I wouldn't order it again. Steak kabob: 3.2/5 this was actually pretty tender for the cut of meat, I'm surprised that I didn't have to work for it so I was happy about that! The only criticism that we have is that the meat itself did not have that much flavor or seasoning and there's only one skewer of meat and one skewer of veggies. Meaning the total amount of meat that was probably on that dish was no more than 4 -5 ounces of steak. And for that price point, I would want a little bit more meat. Mac and Cheese: 3.5/5 pretty good for a kids Mac! Good cheese and flavor was impressed! Overall, the service and the host in the experience of being there was pretty good, but the food was a little lacking not sure if I would go again, but it was on our right experience in terms of food
