Best sandwiches in town! I love the way they chop their onions and pickles which give the sandwich a nice crunch and of course their fresh selection of cold cut meats. I do have a request, id love it if you could expand your beverage selection. Offer drinks that are healthy, organic, zero sugar etc. Even though I'm getting my fair share the sandwich's calories, I do like to shave a little off when choosing my drink. Just a suggestion! This is by far the best sandwich spot. My favorite item on the menu is the Italian cold cut. Everything on the menu is fresh. Fast, clean, fresh, and great service. I got the turkey and could barely finish half of it. Very satisfying. I loved how the veggies are diced so it's evenly distributed (I want a tomatoe, onion and pickle with each bite. Thanks.) Some review said the service was slow? This time, I didn't particularly feel like a cold sandwich, so I called over and ordered their lasgna with two meat balls. They said it would be 10 minute and by the time I walk over there it was ready. It was served in a tin plate with those plastic lids and it was hot! Authentic Italian..The garlic bread was awesome. I think Dracula would stay from anyone who had a slice from them. I loved the lasgana. Basic, just red sauce and cheese, but it was so tastey and filling. The sauce you could tell was homemade because there was a bit of sweetness. One trick to homemade sauce add a little sugar to get rid of the tartness the tomatoes give off. I work around the area, so I've been to this place quite often. Overall, I've always had a pleasant experience. The employees are kind and straightforward - never had any issues. The store is a bit small, but homey. I always like to bring a book and relax after eating. I always go with the Tony's special or the hot pastrami sandwich. I haven't tried anything else. So I can't speak on other items. The price you pay for the quality and service is definitely a good value. If you need a quick bite, I'd recommend this place. read more

This places sandwiches were something else. I went in with a friend to grab a quick bite and ended up coming back three days in a row. The workers were quick and clean. The place is well kept. The guy in the front is keen and pretty funny, we're practically friends now. If you go here make sure you ask for their special dressing. Its a mix of olive oil, greens and garlic and the flavor was amazing. I guess they only put it upon request so make sure to ask for it if you're a garlic lover. read more

Holy California. I had heard great things about Tony's. In a rush today I went in and ordered an "Italian Sub." Everything on the board looked aces, Capaicola, Soppresata, &c &c. I get this $15 bootch home and what the heck? There's friggin' MAYONNAISE all over this thing. I mean it's taking a BATH in mayo. This sandwich has decided that MAYO is THE LOOK, and it's going WHOLE HAM. Short of a some sort of domestic terrorist, I can't imagine who puts MAYO on an ITALIAN SUB. I'm not saying there ARE domestic terrorists working here, but if I were an ITALIAN sub, I wouldn't go anywhere near this place. Grew up in Burbank. Used to cut pickles for Ed Giamela as a kid. Loved the pepper steaks. Like the Santoros bread better. Then Santoros cut their pepper steak too thick, so I tried pastrami but it's fatty. Tony's Deli makes an OK sandwich. I tried a large cold cut, something like the godmother at Bay Citys. The godmother/ cold cut at Tony's is good. The lasagna I tried was just OK. Not as good as Monte Carlos. The lasagna came with 2 sandwich meatballs but I'd rather have had a meatier sauce. The large sandwich at Santoros is $10. The large sandwich at Tony's is $10. Don't understand why Tony's will give Disney employees a 15% discount but not Warner Bros employees. OK sandwich yes. Had a wonderful lunch experience today. My friend and I walked in around 3pm. Place was clean and inviting first and foremost. As you approach the deli, they have a sign outside with the days/week specials. My friend and I both had the special which was the Philly Cheesesteak Sandwich. First the bad news: I'm wishing I could do this over and order a cold sandwich. I'm not sure why the executive chefs in charge of this menu believe anyone would be interested in microwaved soup, microwaved eggplant parm. or any hot microwaved food. I can get that at home. Really not impressed. What's worse is they reheat the slop using the same plastic containers over and over. Please Tony, don't do that anymore. It's just awful. People seemed to be enjoying their various deli subs so I'll try one some day. They have a nice selection of sodas, including San Pelegrino. My fav. Customer service is great. I came here for lunch a while back, based on a friend's recommendation, but wasn't pleased with my experience at all. The employees act like they have better things to do than taking your order in a timely manner. Not to mention, they're also rude. That said, the food is sub par at best. Although they offer Boar's Head, there is no genuine care in the way they make sandwiches. Everything gets piled on in a rush, from the meats, cheeses and lettuce, tomato etc. Overall sloppy looking. Too much lettuce for my taste! The place was not clean either. To top it all off, the person making my sandwich, coughed without covering their mouth, so instead of risking it, I just left! For me, that's a red flag. You're better off going some else for a much better experience, especially in a city such as Burbank! read more

Isn't it amazing how people can just buy 5 stars reviews now? The bread isn't crusty dude it's STALE! The tuna was dry and flavorless but the main reason I'm reviewing this place is because of how incredibly rude the staff is. Whenever service staff is rude I assume it's because they're not getting paid enough so maybe that's what it is. The woman in the thick glasses was straight up annoyed by my presence. Tried to smile and make light conversation. She was not having it. Wouldn't even look at me. Just bizarre. I saw her being mildly friendlier to men so maybe she just suffers from internalized misogyny. I don't think it's just her though. All the workers seemed annoyed by customers. It's weird too I guess they don't want good tips. I always tip well but in this instance I just couldn't. We all have bad days. I also have to smile with customers and be cordial when I don't feel like it because guess what? It's not their fault whatever I'm going through and I understand common decency. read more

On my drive back home to the IE, I look for a snack to hold me over on the fwy so I stop here. Looks like a nice little family run establishment with the red white and green awning out front and a few small tables al fresco style out front. I could easily see Tony, Paulie, Big Pussy and Silvio sitting outside planning their next hustle. A beautiful open space inside with about 5-6 tables, an expansive deli case, beverage cooler with juices, waters and Italian sodas. I went with a large Tony's special- ham, mortadella, capicollo, salami on a wheat roll. Was a bit surprised that it comes club sandwich style with the third slice of bread since it wasn't advertised that way. But either way, the sandwich was chock full of meat and very tasty. The guys at Tony's have become my favorite faces during the week. I work down the street on Olive/Buena Vista and walk to Tony's at least once, most times twice a week. The meat is serious quality (Boars Head), they layer their sandwiches with one extra layer of bread to soak up the spread, everything just screams fresh quality ingredients. I always phone in my order, and then walk over to pick it up. My favorite sandwich of all time - salsalito (spicy turkey.) Close 2nd goes to Tony's Special (mix of italian cold cuts.) I'm a huge prosciutto lover so I've tried the prosciutto sandwich before and its delicious, but harder to eat as the prosciutto keeps sliding out. Other sandwiches I've tried and liked; Cracked Pepper Turkey Breast, Capicollo (italian spicy ham,) black forest ham. All their sandwiches come with an abundance of toppings; lettice, tomato, pickles, onions, mustard, mayo, cheese. Get it all!! Lunch special is $7.99 - small sandwich (small is another way of saying huge), side salad (my fave is the SPICY bowtie pasta salad), and a can soda. The vessel in which any sandwich goodness is contained is very important to me. The rolls at Tony's Deli are great. They're cut into 3 slices, club-like style (this doesn't really do anything for me). Veggies are chopped up, so be prepared for some rogue fixins falling out. They might apply mayo and mustard liberally, so don't be afraid to speak up for your preferences. Don't forget to get a cannoli. read more

I just moved down the street from this location and I've been trying all the eateries within walking distance of my house. I was a little wary about coming here because of the reviews on the other Tony's location on Alameda. All this talk about an extra slice of bread was a little off-putting, but I decided to try it out anyway. Might as well squelch the curiosity. Well, let me just clarify that there is no "extra" bread on the sandwich. They slice the roll into three slices, making each slice thinner and thus, easier to eat. I think if they sliced the roll in half, I might not be able to get my mouth around it (insert perverted reference here). I ordered the Tony's special, which is a cold-cut combo and was slightly surprised at how much I loved it. It was really friggin' delicious. They use very high quality meats and cheeses, which really comes through in the flavor. What I especially liked is that they spread a generous helping of Italian dressing on the middle slice of bread. I don't think I'd ever had Italian dressing on a sandwich. They dice the pickles, tomatoes and onions, so you get a little bit of each in each bite. I really like this, since tomato slices always seem to find their way onto my lap when I'm eating a sandwich. Overall, it was a very satisfying sandwich experience. I want to try other items on the menu, but so far, I've been craving the Tony's special every time I go. I get it on a wheat roll and it's a really nice bread, firm, but not tough. The "small" sandwich will run you about $7 after tax, but it's hardly small. I make two meals out of it. The boys behind the counter are friendly (and cute!), and the place is very clean. There isn't a lot of sitting room, but most people take their orders to go so that's not a big deal. The only thing that sucks is that they close around 5:00 PM (I guess I'm the only person who likes sandwiches for dinner?), so that means I only get to go on days when I get out of school early, but I think they are starting to open on Saturdays too. read more

let's qualify this rating: 3 stars if you live or work nearby, 2 stars if you don't. 1 star if you can get to a subway sandwich. our introduction to tony's italian deli today was the $8.50 lunch special, which includes a regular sandwich, a serving of pasta salad, and a canned soft drink. italian sub was okay, decent layering of meat and provalone cheese, interesting chopped tomato relish/spread stuff on a sesame seed soft roll like the ones you buy in a bag at the supermarket. the middle slice schtick is kind of annoying, but whatever -- i could have taken it out if it was that big of a deal, and thinking back, i should have because the sammy was getting pretty bready before i got to the second half. bowtie pasta oddly had no temperature, neither chilled nor warm, which only accentuated its bland and rubbery forgettableness. 12-oz. can of coke thankfully was a 12-oz. can of coke, but they do have a reasonable assortment of drinks in the cooler. no fountain drinks; thus, no free refills. almost no aroma at all, which is odd for an italian deli. indoor table seating along with, nicely, three outdoor tables. not the friendliest or most helpful deli staff i've ever encountered. after he had bagged our order up i had to remind the counter guy that the lunch special included a pasta salad, like he was hoping i wasn't paying attention. apparently a lot of people aren't paying attention, as the recycle bin for empty cans and bottles was half filled with food and trash. come on, people, focus. while they bill themselves as tony's italian deli and splash red, green, and white everywhere, remember that those colors are also featured on the flags of algeria, bulgaria, hungary, iran, lebanon, madagascar, mexico, and wales. nobody there sounded like richard burton or vito scotti. consider the backstage deli across the street as an alternative. read more

I did not like my sandwich at all. I am forced to eat it as i'm driving a long distance without anywhere to stop, except for shady gas stations. I ordered a large smoked turkey sandwich. The Bread is chewy and hard. Sandwich was dry overall. I can't even swallow the bread because it's so dense, dry and chewy. Diet Pepsi in refrigerator was expired - from November 2014. Had to get another Diet Coke. Board says lunch special is $9.25, but paper menu says $8.50. I threw away 2/3 of it because it's just not good. Very disappointed. Will not return or recommend. Should have listened to the other Yelpers. read more
