    The Tuesday Taco Specials
    Tiffany R.

My BF and I tried a few things here now, and we were happy with the food and the quality. They are pretty authentic, and they also have taco specials on Tuesday. I saw a sign promoting that they have a happy hour even. Overall though, we were happy with them, their salsas were also tasty, and actually hot which I loved. We already tried them for taco Tuesday, and it didn't take long at all to get our food, and best part was it still lived up to the quality we originally had when we tried them the first time. We'll be back for sure.

I should have read the reviews before ordering. I just tried the chilaquiles and they were completely inedible. No idea what kind of black sauce they used (see pic) but tasted beyond terrible. Chilaquiles are supposed to have either a red or green sauce. The beans and rice were ok but I definitely do not recommend this place. Oh and the tortilla chips were stale. It was not cheap either. I wasted $13 on black tar chilaquiles!

One grilled shrimp and the other grilled fish tacos

They charge an external $.34 if you use your credit card. The presentation looked amazing, but it had not much flavor either taco and the salsa wasn't great either and I tried three different kinds quiet place at least when I went.

$9.99 for a surf and turf type of plate, incl tortilla and drink. Beef is not fatty. Would come back and try something else.

I waited until after I ate at several Mexican joints to rate this restaurant. 2.5 stars, rounded down because the lady who took my order was grumpy. This place serves food that will not 'wow' you, but if you are hungry, it gets the job done. I ordered a surf and turf plate, and was happy that the beef was lean, disappointed that the shrimp were small and flavorless. The white cheese that covered everything was unnecessary and rather bland. I didn't like how my food was automatically shoveled into a styrofoam container. Food presentation was definitely lacking. Also, it made me feel quite unwelcome to sit and eat there. The salsa bar wasn't ready early in the morning, and the fountain drinks were misery. My meal came with a drink cup, but I don't really appreciate soda... Overall, it's not a bad place to stop in and grab a burrito or whatever, but it's not worth a drive out of the way for. Pros: - open kitchen - open early Cons: - not too friendly - salsa bar not ready early in morning - styrofoam - no brewed tea - parking

Tony's menu on door dash. At the top it says served with rice and beans!!

Just had the worst experience through door dash and it wasn't door dash's fault. I ordered three combo plates like two hours ago. Driver number 1 goes there to pick up and texts me that I called in to get more food (which I did NOT) so their card wasn't authorized for that amount...then she split. Driver 2 goes out there and then explains that a woman at Tony's said a MAN called in and ordered 3 rice and beans because the orders don't come with rice and beans but the door dash menu shows the combos come with rice and beans. See picture. And my spouse was not here today. Duh?? No man was here today! So the person or people at the counter manipulated the order there and LIED and I am pissed!!!

Pros: Service was fast, very friendly, and overall made a great experience on that end. The salsa bar is very good, and the food selection is also up to par. I had the .99 al pastor tacos and they were good. Not the biggest, but bigger than most of the street tacos sold in Oside. Cons: Unfortunately, they hit the perfect storm with location. One side is the cheapest apartments in town. Next door is a low cost laundry mat, and then you have a 7-11. The parking lot is abutted with the last bus stop til the freeway. Tonys Fresh is in the Bermuda triangle of poor life decisions. There was a meth head who kept purchasing $1 tacos, then going in to the bathroom. Staff knew what was going on and I felt really bad for them. The interior could use a facelift but that really didnt matter. $3.50 tacos, they may want to consider dropping prices a bit. Overall, its a quick and easy place to get some decent food, and has great value on really good al pastor. I will go back.

Are the beans and rice vegan?

The beans contain lard. Unsure of the rice. The sign said that they had vegetarian options and I also saw a sign saying that they use vegetable oil but still decided to ask and the man told me that yes they use lard. Very misleading. :(

They have the best molcajete and fajitas around, at the best prices. We are here just to see if Cocina Del Mar is better. Long story short: it's not. However, their ceviche is AMAZING. Best ceviche I have had in north county San Diego outside of Dija Mara (which has the best ceviche in the known universe). It is extremely fresh and not overpowered by acidity, fishy smells or rubbery shrimp. The ceviche here is legit. Great. AND ONLY $10 (for cameron). If you order anything here, get the ceviche first. I'm anxious to try their aguachile now. We also ordered the fajitas ("suprema" with chicken, steak and shrimp). Fajitas did not come out sizzling at all. I have never seen this before. Also, there were only two shrimp. The steak/carne was bland and dry. Not great. Wife ordered the Sopes (3) and mother ordered the Enchiladas Cameron. The sopes were okay, but a bit bland. Wife had to salt everything on the plate. The enchiladas had a sauce my mom said was too sweet. She wasn't a fan. For all three dishes to be a miss is completely strange considering the sheer number of 5-star reviews. I want to believe. We must have come on an off-day, but the place was busy. Quite a few larger parties were here, so this place is popular with the natives. We also grabbed a Model and a Corona. Only $5 for the beers! Total for everything came to $117.64 (with tip). I would absolutely come back for the ceviche and to give them another shot by trying a different dish. I snapped pics of the menu so you can see the latest prices. Check it out.

Not great, necessarily, but good and the prices are some of the best around. They have a ton of options, and lots of drinks, including beer. We were just picking up, and it was a very hot day. The restaurant didn't have any air-conditioning so it was quite warm inside. Most people were eating outside. As a Cali Native now living in…read morethe great state of Texas, sometimes it's refreshing to step outside the land of Tex‑Mex and get the real deal again. Colima's hits that spot every single time. When you walk in, the person behind the counter greets you immediately -- and not the dry "hi, what can I get you?" type of greeting. You get a full "¡Buenos días, mija!" with that warm, almost‑grito energy that makes you feel like you just walked into your tío's spot instead of a restaurant. Super friendly, super natural, and very SoCal. I ordered the rolled tacos plate and wow... esa porción estaba gigante. I couldn't finish it. What I loved most was the meat; this is what meat is supposed to taste like. The beef was seasoned the way we grew up eating it: a little salty, a little savory, with that slow‑cooked tenderness that lets you know it didn't come from some pre‑bagged, mystery‑meat situation. You get hints of garlic, a little cumin, and that warm, almost toasty flavor that comes from meat that's actually been browned, not steamed. It tasted like someone's abuela was in the back saying, "No, no, déjalo dorar un poquito más. And the corn tortillas? Perfect. Thin enough to get that crisp roll, thick enough not to shatter. None of that flour‑tortilla‑trying‑to‑be‑crispy nonsense. These were crunchy, flavorful, and loaded. The toppings were just as good. The guacamole tasted fresh. You could taste the real avocado which was creamy, a little chunky, with lime that actually tasted like lime and not concentrate. The red salsa had a legit kick to it. It had hints of roasted chiles, was smoky and had a slightly bitter edge that tells you they actually roasted them instead of just tossing raw peppers into a blender. It wasn't tourist spicy; it was SoCal Mexican‑restaurant spicy, which is a whole different category. My partner ordered a breakfast burrito and honestly? That thing could've fed three people. It was massive, stuffed to the brim with cheese, egg, potatoes, and fresh bacon and exactly what a SoCal breakfast burrito should be: simple, hearty, and no shortcuts. Between the portions, the flavor, and the service that feels like home, this spot stays on my list every time I'm in Oceanside. If you're craving real Mexican food and not Tex‑Mex, pull up. You'll leave full and happy. #supportlocal
