My BF and I tried a few things here now, and we were happy with the food and the quality. They are pretty authentic, and they also have taco specials on Tuesday. I saw a sign promoting that they have a happy hour even. Overall though, we were happy with them, their salsas were also tasty, and actually hot which I loved. We already tried them for taco Tuesday, and it didn't take long at all to get our food, and best part was it still lived up to the quality we originally had when we tried them the first time. I should have read the reviews before ordering. I just tried the chilaquiles and they were completely inedible. No idea what kind of black sauce they used (see pic) but tasted beyond terrible. Just had the worst experience through door dash and it wasn't door dash's fault. I ordered three combo plates like two hours ago. Driver number 1 goes there to pick up and texts me that I called in to get more food (which I did NOT) so their card wasn't authorized for that amount...then she split. Pros: Service was fast, very friendly, and overall made a great experience on that end. The salsa bar is very good, and the food selection is also up to par. I had the .99 al pastor tacos and they were good. Not the biggest, but bigger than most of the street tacos sold in Oside. Cons: Unfortunately, they hit the perfect storm with location. One side is the cheapest apartments in town. Next door is a low cost laundry mat, and then you have a 7-11. The parking lot is abutted with the last bus stop til the freeway. Tonys Fresh is in the Bermuda triangle of poor life decisions. There was a meth head who kept purchasing $1 tacos, then going in to the bathroom. Staff knew what was going on and I felt really bad for them. The interior could use a facelift but that really didnt matter. $3.50 tacos, they may want to consider dropping prices a bit. This was my first time here, so I ordered the one item I know that is almost impossible to mess up, the Cheese Enchilada. To my surprise, it was awful. The cheese was shredded, cold and not melted. The sauce tasted of pure sodium - no other flavor stood out. The tortilla was chewy, sour cream was watery and the only thing they got right was the ice berg lettuce. The rice looked like it was boiled with a basic food coloring and no flavor. The beans looked and tasted like the Rosarita refried beans that were watered down. The least they could have done was was fried it in some bacon fat or butter and added some flavor to it. Never have I ever had such awful Mexican food. The second look! Ever looked at that beautiful girl or guy and had to take a second look. Well one morning before going to work I stopped at 7 eleven for some coffee. I was running a little late and had no breakfast. As I drove up to 7 eleven I, to my right was a Mexican restaurant ( Tony's) stuck on the corner. Went in and the place was clean, the cashier was very helpful in deciding what I wanted, and the food got to me in a timely manner. Of course I had a breakfast burrito. OMG, IT WAS THE BEST I HAVE EVER HAD. I took a menu so I can review what else they had because my goal now was to come back for that second look or taste. Unfortunately, the majority of Mexican places have stopped making chunky red salsa(pico) because of its higher cost compared to the watered down siracha and black pepper salsa, costing them pennies to make. I have had the shrimp from Tony's multiple times and it always has grit or rocks in it.. they don't serve pinapple with the pastor tacos. The size of there California burrito is a joke compared to most places the carni isn't that good and the Fry's are usually undercooked. It was late and my husband was just looking for a place to get California Burrito. We were at a shopping plaza nearby and we thought we'd check them out. I looked at their menu first to make sure he'd be able to get his California burrito and shrimp for me. Place looked bright with all the happy colors and it was well kept. We ordered the California burrito and the Tony's special plate which had grilled beef, shrimp and veggies with sides: pico, guac, special sauce, lettuce, tortilla of your choice, beans and rice. My plate came with a drink too. Our order came shortly after we ordered about 10-15 mins. The food came out and for the price we paid--it was all worth it! This place is so immeasurably sub par it is hard to put into words. I have lived close to this place for over a year, been trying it on/off a few times hoping the quality would improve and it has not... at all... not one tiny bit. Let's just make a list instead of a novel: 1 - they absolutely can not get your order correct. Whether it's no cheese, with chips, no salsa etc. rest assured the majority of the time your order will be wrong or missing something. 2 - cockroach puttering around on the salsa bar... it was small and just one but we all know what that means. 3 - quality is less than mediocre. Fries are always raw/cold, burritos sloppily thrown together, 4 - no gloves when making your food. 5 - they put things right from the fryer in styrofoam containers and close them. This results in molten plastic on your chips and tacos... mmmmm, stomach cancer. 6 - most of the time employees are nice, but they have no clue about basic things like serving people in order for instance: ordered 2 burritos to go, sat and watched dine-in customers and more take out people be served who ordered after I did. Middle of the road. If you come here when the meat, particularly carnitas, is fresh, it's pretty damn good. Honestly, it's usually okay, but there have been at least two instances where I ordered something with beans and found a gravelly texture, and I even found a small rock in my burrito once. Whoever is making the beans back there needs an extensive training program on how to properly clean them. I could feel ok about giving them 3.5 stars if it wasn't for that. Basically, don't order beans and it's fine. I only come here because it's right across the street from my apartment, but that's only on super lazy days. Best breakfast burritos, and I've tried the rolled tacos. Delicious, I've tried others but I'm happy with Tonys!

We have been patrons for over 8 years back when it was Roberto's. Now that it is "Tonys" the quality and quantity is down, yet the price is up. Case in point. We used to love the tostadas.......now the amount of beans is far less. The breakfast burritos were about $5, now they are closer to $6.50.
