Wow, has this place taken a nose dive. We waited about 20 minutes for a table and as we were walking in an older gentleman was walking out talking about how bad his food was. He talked about how he has came here nearly every year on Black Friday and how this was by far the worse food he has ever had. The proportions are still large for the price but I will explain. As the tables were mostly full and staff was busting their rears we were offered a seat at the counter by the grill and deep fryer . This was a mistake as we had a birds eye view of the food being prepared . If you sit here look up, you will see a heavily grease stained ceiling tiles . At one point my wife had something from the vent drip on her, still not sure if it was just dirty water or grease . One of the fryers was not using gloves and was using bare hands to put the onion rings and fries on the plates. I wish I would have taken a video of it. A few of the waitresses picked up fries that were on the counter and put them back on the platters before taking them to their customers, none or them had gloves on. One of them even ate a fry that was on the counter and then used her hands to straighten out the fries. My burger lacked flavor and mushrooms but you could tell it was fresh . This place is a decent greasy spoon. They give a ton of food but it is mediocre for the most part. All of our food was cold. Cold eggs suck!!!! Kids liked the pancakes and of course the BACON. They give a lot of bacon because it's a #2 that they buy. Nothing wrong with it but it's NOT the perfect slice of bacon, it's the ends and pieces that didn't make it in the #1 quality box and for that reason, it's cheaper per LB. We have stopped in multiple times. As we are on our way north, thought about stopping in for a lunch. We called to find out approximately how long of a wait they had right now. Classic diner/dive environment. Quick service. GOOD food. All at a great price. There was a line when we got there, I was expecting a wait, but by the time I went to the restroom (very cramped space - FYI), my friends were already seated and waiting for me so we could order. If you are NOT hungry, do not stop here. If you ARE hungry, you will get full and still ask for a box. Everything here is huge! When I say everything, I mean everything...and when I say huge, I mean huge: 12 egg omelettes, a side order of bacon that is "at least 16 ounces" (right off the menu), and I walked passed a banana split on someone else's table...huge is an understatement, I think it was made with a half gallon of ice cream! I can't remember the name of the omelette I ordered, but it had Italian sausage in it and it was delicious. I ate quite a bit of it and still had enough left to feed a small country. Okay, that's a bit of an exaggeration, but the amount I put in my to-go box was about twice the size of an omelette from any other breakfast place...and that was the leftovers! I also ordered a side of bacon, shared it with my 3 friends and put the rest in the box with my omelette. If you have not been here before, you need to make it out. After hearing nothing but great things about this place, I knew I had to make a trip out to check it out. One Saturday morning, my friends and I woke up early and made the trip up to check this place out. We drove a total of 40+ miles to get here. At first, we were quickly intimidated because there was a long line (it was out the door) but we were assured by the rest of the people in line that it usually moved pretty quick so we decided to stick through it. I want to say that we were sat in about 25 min. Immediately, we were taken our drink order, and the menu was in a little newspaper style! It was actually super cute. So, i ended up getting the french toast. My best friend got chicken fried steak, and my other friend ended up getting a burger. LAST BUT NOT LEAST: yes of course we got the 1lb of bacon. OH MAN; best decision of my life! The bacon crispy, chewy, and just plain right delicious. Now I understood what the Hype was all about. I finally had the opportunity to stop at Tonys for breakfast while visiting the area. Wonderful dinner feel and service was energetic and friendly. My wife and I split an omelette and an order of B&G with a side of HB. More then enough for two people to buy I still finished my entire plate( food coma). I guess I am one of those people who just don't get it. Getting a huge portion of food at a low price is good, but is it really that good if the food is just....meh!? Maybe the novelty of a huge stack of pancakes is fun for some. They don't have anything here I can't get at any local diner. So I really don't understand why people go out of their way to get here. What good is a bunch of bacon if it is cheap thin bacon and thrown in a fryer? I love bacon, but if I'm going to eat it....I want good bacon. Quality over quantity is much more my style. read more

Hmmm it was okay. Not sure why whole pieces of bacon are in the omelette though. Ask for chewy bacon or u will get crispy which can be hard to eat. Bread is unnecessarily big or at least thick. Request extra sauce or your sandwich will be dry and salty due to bread and bacon overwhelmingly thrown together. I will return to try something else. Amazing food. Sub par service. Waitress was nice enough, but didn't seem to be able to handle her tables properly. Unfortunately for us, we were the table she neglected. Starting off, we asked for coffee and water. She only brought coffee and then proceeded to forget the water for the rest of our time there. After our food was delivered to our table, we never saw our waitress again. She came by very quickly at one point where I wasn't even able to get a word in to ask for more ketchup because our table had almost none. She filled our coffee and off she went. I don't mind a waitress not always coming by but when I see her just hanging around and neglecting our table, I'm bound to get a little peeved. Again, she probably just had her plate full and couldn't focus enough on one table. Or she was having an off day. It happens. But I felt my first experience here was quite lackluster. The food was amazing though so they've got that going for them. Also as far as Covid goes, they have everyone still pretty close to one another. The staff isn't always wearing masks properly and the waiting area was just stuffed with people like a can of sardines. I'd absolutely order carry out for sure, but eating in? Not so sure. Service was fast and the food was hot and tasty. More, much more, bacon than I anticipated and it was tasty and warm. Lots of hash browns but ask for crispy if you like them that way. My toast was good and the eggs were fresh. I expected a long wait but we obtained a booth quickly and the rest is history. Great dinner dive experience. S I have wanted to stipend try this place for several years now. If your like me and can eat Bacon all day everyday, make this one of you stops. It's located in Birch Run Michigan and is right off I75. Started off with their version of the Bacon, Lettuce, Tomato sandwich. The reason I say their version, well I have never had a sandwich with more bacon than you can imagine. It comes out with Bacon falling out all sides and with extra mayo if needed. I mean what can you say the Bacon was cooked perfectly had great favor and needed the thick cut bread to hold it together. I was happy we split this and still took some Bacon from sandwich to go. Also had an order of the Poutine fries, which was French Fries covered in mozzarella and a mushroom gravy. These were very tasty and very rich couldn't eat them all as the severing is huge. I'm so glad To finally get to try this Extreme Bacon restaurant. In closing any sandwich which has bacon came out looking like the picture I posted. read more

But I went in for breakfast and even though all the servers were running around with their heads chopped off like chickens, still had the best service anyone could ask for. My go-to either as a dine-in (I always end up with enough leftovers for 3-4 additional meals!) or as a takeout of Bacon (makes life easier for a cooking-for-one. I freeze in portions for myself.) But, the best part of Tony's are the waitresses who don't seem to mind making my orders a curbside pickup, always with a smile and friendly greeting. We've been to Tony's a few times before. This time my daughter ordered the chicken tenders. 3 times they came out raw!! Our waitress apologized and I knew it wasn't her fault. The final time they came out it was cooked all the way through, finally. Another thing is they brought everyone's dish out separate so we didn't get to eat all together. I have heard so much about Tony's and decided to stop in while my wife and I were passing through. As you enter the main door, there is a glassed-in corridor that you walk through to a door going into the restaurant. A sign had us waiting in that corridor until seating was available. There was an odor of what smelled like a nasty public restroom (kind of a dank and urine odor). We noticed through the window that part of the restaurant was closed off. I wonder if they had a sewage back up. We debated leaving when the hostess came and got us. Once inside it smelled okay and the food on the tables looked decent. The waitress eventually came by and took our beverage order. She returned with the drinks and took our food order. My wife ordered the Chicken Parmesan, and I ordered the Steak and Onion sub along with an appetizer of fried mushrooms. The waitress returned about 10 minutes later with the salad, Chicken Parmesan and Mushrooms. No Steak Sub. My wife started her lunch and I munched in the Mushrooms. About 15 minutes later, my wife finished her lunch and mine still had not arrived. I had planned on asking for the check and making sure my sandwich was not on the bill. The waitress finally returned (BTW no soda refill during our visit). She informed us that they only had one line going and my lunch was still on the way. Well, my wife was done and full and we had been there long enough. I asked her to have them box it up and I would reheat it for supper (just not the same). All in all, the food was meh! The entry stunk of a nasty odor. We were unable to eat our lunches together. I don't understand the hype about this place. Sounds like their cornerstone is the BLT with the pound of bacon. We definitely will not return. Oh, and that fiasco was a bit over $61.00 with tip (yes, I still left about 20%). read more
